  • Awesome! Totally awesome!!

  • No sir, the 70's were bitchin' The 80's were like totally awesome and rad.

  • Totally rad! Good job dude. I want to record this but I can't figure out how to hook my VCR up to You Tube.

  • I wish that was my childhood! Why did I have to be born in the '90s? :(

  • @MegaGreatBritain You totally missed out. This was the best era or time to grow up ever! Trust me.....I wish I had a time machine to do it all over again. I could tell you stories and point out thousands of great things that we the children of the 80's had the privilege of experiencing. I was 10 in 1980 and 19 in 1989. Awesome indeed!

  • @michael1970sherman STOP MAKING ME JEALOUS! (You must be the same age as my parents then :L)

  • I forgot right round was an 80's song

  • thats my child hound in a nut shell man .

  • This makes me want to cry I miss the 80's sooooooooooo much. What has happened to the world today? Its all garbage. Everything, not just music.

  • I loved it!!! I remember Show Biz, not chuck E cheese.

  • 2:07 BALKI NIGGA!!!! LMAO!!!

  • damn i loved it

  • I wasnt born until the 90's but the 80s seemed fun

  • 1980s: Trapper Keepers and calculator wristwatches

    2010s: smart phones and laptops

1980s: cheaper and cooler than the 2010s

  • The music producers of today obviously have their heads stuck WAY UP their ASSES, cuz they seem to have completely lost sight of what STYLE and ORIGINALITY was all about!

The musicians of the 80's not only looked and sounded GREAT, but the lyrics in their songs actually carried some MEANING in them.

In other words, 80's music simply had way more MASS APPEAL!

If the SHIT-ASS music of today had that very same kind of profound effect on us, then we wouldn't be switching back to all our 80's faves!

  • @OtomoTenzi Old people like their old music. I'm sure your parents felt the same about their music too.

  • pretty sure just about everyone would time travel back to the 80's if we could.

  • My childhood and early teens in 4 minutes! Thanks!

  • yeah but i don't know how anybody ever lived life without a cell phone. Or social networking for that matter. just saying

  • @meetdiamond Well, life before social networking was better because FYI people actually spoke to one another and spent time with friends that weren't on the computer and actually went outside their house. And why have cell phones when you can just use the real phone? I mean, come on is it really that hard to dial some numbers? And look, because of texting, no one knows how to write a letter. I'm saying all this and I was born in the 90s.

  • @ellierf yeah, I agree that social networking--for some people--makes them socially inept in REAL LIFE situations. but it's helped me get in touch with people i drifted away from & would never have heard from again, old highschool friends and such--which has been pretty cool

as far as the cell phone thing, have you ever had your car break down while you were all alone in the middle of nowhere with no one around for miles to reach out to for help? a cell phone can really be a life saver

  • L O L you included the "I want my $2 kid"

    fucking epic.

  • I feel sorry for you punks who grew up in the 90's and beyond. Even the clowns BORN in the 80's don't count. The kids who REALLy appreciated the 80's were born in the 70's or, at the most, born in the very early 80's.

  • NO ROB THE ROBOT & THE WIZARD(NES MOVIE)

  • Notice how many of these things are iconic now, what does that tell you?

  • Owh the memories..! :o) Excellent stuff, added it to my favourites!!

  • Crystal Pepes was in the 90's not the 80's. 92-93

  • Brother! You deserve a medal for this!! I was so glad to have had my entire childhood in the eighties!!!! Thanks for taking me back down memory lane. I could almost smell it!

  • Man, I really wish I was alive back then. My parents made a smart decision when they came to America to experience all this :D !!!!!

  • i saw RATT FUCK ya Ratt and roolllll!

  • i will give my ipod ,laptop,360 all of the modern technoligy to go live in the 80s in a heartbeat

  • we just watched this in my history class. my entire class (sophomores in high school) got so excited because of everything we recognized.

  • This was great. I gorgot about glo worms and the red reeboks.

  • nice, just wish the pics didnt move so fast.

    .

  • And Let the good times roll!

  • Let's just set the time machine on 1-1-1980 and ride it! You won't regret it! Lol

  • that was fun :)

  • AMAZING MONTAGE...I LOVED IT.

WATCHED IT WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER...SHE ENJOYED IT TOO!!!

Here's to the 80's....right before cell phones and hip-pop took over everything.

Here's to human relationships, feelings, and heart and family expressed in pop culture.

Here's to growing up, being allowed to be proud of America.

    It was a different nation.

    I miss it badly.

  • i bet i would've liked this era, my favorite movies ferris bueller's day off and im 13 :P

  • tabs originated in the mid 70s haha everything else is right on

  • Wheres public enemy, slayer, metallica, anthrax, megadeth, iron maiden, and in fashion why didnt you put punk rockers, metalheads, new wavers, and hip-hop fashion(like nikes, baseball caps, jheri curls, and bell hats),and in movies why didnt you put the road warrior, beyond thunderdome, akira, aliens, and blade runner.sorry, not trying to sound picky or anything, but those are some important 80's thing that you left out.

  • Whats the name of that movie at 2:26 ?

  • @joemac416 "The Last Dragon" with Bruce Leroy, lol. That guy in the picture was the villian though.

  • Great video clip! Great song and fantastic memories....thanks for posting.

  • haha mean hair metal bands!

  • Why wont those lazy ass scientists invent a damn time machine so i can go back to the 80's and stay forever, fuck the 90's and 2000's!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MegaGangstaparadise I disagree with some of your examples because there was rap and gangsta rap in the 80's,there were deffinately gays, there were niggers, there were girls that liked showing their asses off in the 80's,there were mexicans here in the 80's,there were goths back then, they just werent so mainstream, and there were gangsters, just watch the movie 'colors' but yes,I do need a time machine, lazy scientists.

  • This vid is so rad. I'm glad i grew up in the 80's. Still waitin on that time machine to go back.

  • if i ever see a show that says i love the decade from 2000 to 2010 i'm going to puke.Things were so much more fun and simple back in the 80's

  • Star Wars toys where big in the 80's I didnt see any...great video though brought back memories.

  • i would not mind being born past '75 because of medical advances. i adore 80's music the culture was great, and nobody will care for this decade or the last!(exept for technological advances)

  • i would not mind being born past '75 because of medical advances. i adore 80's music the culture was great, and nobody will care for this decade or the last!(exept for technological advances)

  • @jacarandas82 thank you, I've actually been wondering for awhile

  • I WAS BORN IN THE WRONG ERA!

  • Great video! This really brings you back. Maybe it's just me, but I can't see anyone looking back at the 00's and missing them.

  • I love the '80s, it's simply my favorite decade even though I didn't live in it. I could recognize almost everything in the video, except who's the weird guy at 0:57 ?

  • @WillyWackers Thats Milli Vanilli

  • @5tzus I meant the second before milli vanilli. The guy with the suit and the slicked back blond hair. he also has those colorful lines behind him.

  • Lol! Way cool! Thanks for sharing :)

  • what is the move at 2:46?

  • @MarksMarker That film looks like a film called Wierd Science.

  • I f***** Love The 80s. Even though I wasn't born in that era I just like the music the movies the styles the tv shows and maybe if I was a kid in the 80s I would like toys too

  • The 80's decade gave us the best movies and music.. where does the time go?

  • HECK I GOT YA ALL BEAT LMAO I STILL HAVE THE 80'S HAIR LMAO CAN'T LET GO !!! LMAO

  • 80's, a simpler time. Hot girls dressed like sluts with big hair.

  • There was a special flavor of music in the 80s that I've struggled to define, but I've settled on calling it Jheri Curl. Not all artists actually wore the Jheri Curl, but they still had the flavor going on. Think Rick James, MJ, Lisa Lisa, Ready-4-the-World, El DeBarge, Kool & the Gang etc. It was like part funk, part dance, part urban & pop.

  • I absolutely HATE the 2000s This era seriously sucked. I wish I grew up in the 80s. I LOVE the 80s (: Im a 90s kid though. My opinion the 80s are the best. I love the fashion, shows, movies but mostly the MUSIC! ( Michael Jackson<3(: )

  • @ilovebaseball805 Sorry you missed out. It was a magical decade! The music: we had it all! After around 91/92, I thought to myself "WTF is this!". It was a blast! They spun this song on vinyl quite often at roller rinks. The (lovers only) song was usually "I'm crazy for you" by Madonna. Man, what people could do on roller skates! I couldn't even skate backwards, let alone do a back-flip! The 80's decade was a slate that was unjustly wiped clean.

  • decades project...using this vid :)

  • younger generations in the future will try to grasp the glory of this decade... they will fall short.

  • Outstanding compilation of just some of what made that decade an amazing 10 year-long party. I was lucky enough to be starting high school when the decade dawned, so I had the music, movies, fashion and attitude of that time surrounding me. I cherish those memories. Thanks for the look back!

  • RAD! My favorite decade, so far.

  • man im only 15 but after seeing this makes me wish i grew up in the time

  • @supermariojune23 I agree, i wish i grew up in the 80s :(

  • gi joe is there! a real american hero fighting cobra and destro

  • Haha I had a pair of those red high-top Reeboks! The 80's were the BEST! :)

  • @KeysToMyKarma= I had a Members Only Jacket. An Optimus Prime figure, an Atari, an obsession with G.I. Joe, and a crussh on Debbie Gibson, Molly Ringwald, that chick from Weird Science, and the principal's daughter. Man, those were the best years of my life. I don't have that many memories of the Nineties to cherish. I don't cherish some grungie whining about his parents not understanding him. "I want mmy 2 dollars."

  • who is it at 1:44?

  • Solid man, totally awesome dude!!!!!!

    he he :-)

  • Well done. Lots of childhood memories there.

  • memories

fuck the 80's though still waiting to see the great future we looked forward to.

  • is there anyway i could get this music>> absolutely amazing.

    13. and a die hard 80s fan.

  • Where are Bauhaus, Return to Oz, Eurythmics and Pinhead???

  • I WAS BORN IN 1995 ): my life aspiration is to build a time machine and go back

  • gah! i love the movies part. Movies were the BEST in the 80's and im 13. ^^

  • 2DOLLARS

  • Hey! Thanx for posting this video!! It really put a smile on my face :D.

Can anyone help me with the name of the series at 2:11. Thanx

  • the wonder years

  • im 14 and cant stand this era............i would love to live in ANY other decade, especially the 60's 70's & 80's

  • you forget the 90's after the 90's music just got bad

  • You gotta expand your horizons then man. Because the 90s was a great decade for alternative and electronica.

This decade aint that half bad for some flavors of electronica as well.

Anyways, awesome vid. I'm gonna get me some 80s mixtapes.

  • lol you know you can't discuss about tastes and colours, in my opinion saying that this decade isn't half that bad is an understatement it's bad, but yes it has some good stuff in the music like e.g. crystal castles, but even that doesn't make up for all the low quality music that's being made today

  • Sure you can discuss subjective tastes as long as everyone shares a lil understanding.

For every bit of crap you see in the record store you can find something good within arms length. it's been like that since forever. It's just that theres more stuff out there than ever before. And record stores are dead. And shifting through endless arrays of data sucks.

  • @chukedy I was 14 in 1989 and I hated the time I lived in too. Now though, I regret realizing how fun the 80's were. Enjoy it now cause in 2040 we'll all be nostagic for the 2000's :)

  • @Torus202 Sorry but nostalgic for the 2000's??? The 80s were an absolutely revolutionary decade. Think that all the innovations which are now taken for granted (the PC, the cell phone, the CDs, etc. etc. etc. had their beginning in the 80s. From there on it was a matter of improving the techonology. But it all started thanks to the microchip and silicon valley in the 80s. And the music of that decade -- the best!!!

  • @eurodishco I definately agree about the 80's. I grew up with all of it. I just remember most of the people my age wished they grew up in the 60's. I felt that way too for a while, but didn't realize at the time how fun the 80's were. As a teenager in the 90's it was all about how the 80's sucked. lol. I just feel that most of us don't appreciate what we have until it's gone. Younger people that grew up in the last ten years will definately look back at the 2000's with nostalgia in 30 years.

  • @Torus202 I get your point. I truly had a blast in the 80s. A world of experiences that I could never trade for anything. I was a teen and then a young adult during that decade. Awesome times for me in every single sense. I enjoyed them fully and was so happy to be a part of it ! Still am (happy about that I mean). Cheers!

  • Awesome

  • where's the beef?

  • LOL! I love this now I can prove to my son that we did have cartoons and shows in color! lol! Oh and we had the original transformers too :) thanks for the video brought back some tubular memories ;)

  • i wasnt even alive in the 80s and i love them!!!!!! most kids hate it when they hear theyre parents talk about the 80s but i love it! i dress 80s, talk 80s, look 80s, listen to 80s music, watch 80s movies and everything! TOTALLY RAD VID!!!!!!!

  • haha I completely get you. I was born in the early 90's but I freaking love 80's culture. the shows, movies, music, style, clothes, everything about the 80's was amazing haha. Way better than nowadays! even the 90's were better

  • Wheres Robocop?

  • Anybody from San Antonio, TX remember Skateland West? (It's still up, just not as cool as it was 20 years ago, lol.)

  • love it.

  • it's alphie!

  • Was Will Smith from the 80s? And was Full House from the 80s? Now that I'm old, it's all a blur. I can't believe they didn't put Fievel! ;)

  • @CureStupidity

"Will Smith" is not 80's, but that technically wasn't a picture of "Will Smith". Before he had a sitcom, he was a successful rapper, one half of the duo D.J. Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, which formed in 1985. Remember that Rap was still underground then so people outside of the inner city, and certain Whites in the suburbs who were in on it, didn't really know many rappers by name.

Full House came out in the late 80's but didn't get big until the early 90's.

  • @Califacience Who cares? Rap/hip-hop is sh*t anyway you slice it. Inner city ghetto trash producing the lowest form of entertainment. In 50 years it will be looked at as the lowest point of contemporary music. Monkies...that's all.

  • @upyerrzzz1

My comment was not left for racists but for sensible human beings, just ignore it.

  • @Califacience Thank you for clarifying. I'm still trying to decide if I'd want to relive either one of those decades. With the way things are going now, I'd probably relive both! jk =0)

  • wow 80's was where its at you can look at every single day thats ever happened and anything that meant anything was in the 80's

  • The fashion: the horror, the horror. I was an 80s teen and I feel rage when I see 90s teens and their gorgeous little clothes, tight jeans, crop tops, high heeled shoes, platforms, 70s re-works, hipsters, all the rest. 80s clothes always looked unironed and crumpled and too big, with shoulder pads reaching across oceans. Nothing showed off your body, no navel piercings, no nothing!!!

  • I was about 10 in the mid-80's, it seemed more fun for teenagers then. I always felt the big hair, off-the-shoulder tops, and the infamous metallic yellow leggings were pretty damn sexy!!!

  • You MUST have been in Broward County FL? I saw that Malibu Grand Prix sign at the beginning. ;-)

  • haha, no i'm actually from the sf bay area. we had a malibu grand prix

  • Damn, I was gonna say San Antonio, Texas, I didn't know there Malibu Grand Prix was so wide spread!

  • Hey, there was a NEW my little pony in there. That's an anachronism!

  • Thanks, man...that was great. You had things in there I was like, "Oh..I bet he won't have the Snorks, etc." And sure enough! Awesome flashback

  • that about covers it, lol, love it. ahh the 80's...

  • Really good job.

  • Does anybody know what song this is?

  • It is"You Spin me Right Round" by 80s band Dead or Alive.!!! Also, Florida just sampled this song in his latest single Right Round.. I prefer the original :)

  • Go see mine

  • I feel like my life flashed by me in just over 4 minutes lol. Great vid!
