My 3 gal eclypse tank is the same way. Keeps the water at 78 degrees and higher. I have to turn off the light at night because Bettas need to sleep. But in the winter on cooler nights I wrap a thick towel around the tank and it keeps it the same warm temp till the morning. When you turn off the lights at night the temp in the tank drops. Sometimes my eclypse tank gets to hot. You have to watch out for that too. And you are doing very well on the amount you feed. Over all good job c!
100% water changes are awful. You need to be doing 20% water changed every week.

You should probably doing more like once weekly in a filtered 2.5 (water changes). But other than that, much better then most care vids I've seen.
