oh man, how I miss The Island.....I lived there on the 90's and also went to 217 until 5th grade... I promise I'll go to a reunion. Hope to see familiar faces

Ugly and dirty! In Germany the heaviest slums look 1000times nicer than this place. Cities and towns in the USA are cool, dirty and ugly. USA is a country with no culture in many criminal people! In Germany, France, Italy etc. more and more young people hates USA. McDoof (means stupid in german), CocaCola and so on. No Culture in USA and therfore USA destroy culture worldwide!!!

Thank you so much for the video. I also lived in Roosevelt Island in the 80's and went to 217 until 6th grade. It was a wonderful time. I roller-skated ever day after school. I can't believe how many buildings have been built, it's not the same place I grew up.

I started a video blog about Roosevelt Island and wanted to ask your permission to post / embed this video over at that site? Obviously you all lived in the original WIRE buildings. At that time did you all go to 217 as well? Thanks, Eric

This is a slide show of a 20 year reunion we had.
We were among the first to live on Roosevelt Island and remember it before all the "new buildings". We used to have to take the Tram everyday because there was no subway. We were there when everyone knew everyones family, the security guards were there to protect us, not correct us, we were there when there was nothing much beyond the supermarket and the Rivercross.
We built this Rock!
