  • I'm not an atheist, but I'm REALLY shocked at how big an issue being an atheist seems to be in America. Over here in England if you said you were an atheist, hardly anyone would care (You certainly wouldn't get dirty looks or have devastated parents, unless they were incredibly religious ones.) It just seems really odd to me.

  • @PassTheMarmalade1957 yeah its extremely hard to be an atheist in america i had people telling me i was going to hell got bullied and i had to hide being an athiest for a while because i was afraid

  • This is also why I am open about my anarchist atheist views so people stay away before I start to like them and they leave over it.

  • How come you no make videos in awhile? get a boyfriend/husband? new job? new hobby? baby?

  • 3:15 All hail atheist gays. BTW it is easy to be an atheist in college. That's about it. Internet too. Those two places have lots of atheists.

  • I've had someone before just outright ask me what I believed in. When I told him I didn't believe in any god, he asked me, claiming it was out of curiosity, why I wasn't going around raping and killing people left and right.

  • @DippNDots oh my....wow

  • There either is a god or there isn't. The difference in which viewpoint a person adopts will depend on one big assumption, namely everything can be explained. If you agree w/ the statement, then you probably operate under a rational worldview, but if you disagree, then you most definitely think magic and miracles (in the traditional sense) are realities, thus giving credence to a magical being. If you're a rationalist, you think even a god can be explained, which effectively makes it Übermensch

  • @nlytend1 So, for the rational, a "god" is at best an intellectually and/or morally superior life-form, not one that necessarily deserves veneration, worship, or the complete submission of oneself, since even its "miracles" could be explained. Furthermore, the explanation doesn't necessarily depend on our understanding it if we're indeed intellectually inferior in comparison, it does however depend on the very fact of its existence. That ends my friendly rant. I hope it makes theists think.

  • Nice cat. I've always been an athiest, neither of my parents are religious and my grandparents are moderately religious. I wish all the athiest americans could just come over to england and we could boot out some of the religious nutters from here, like my mothers crazy aunt for a start. No one should ever pick on someone for being an athiest, in my mind that's like picking on someone because they got 10 out of 10 in a spelling test at school.

  • Obama needs to STFU and eat some fried chicken.

  • @Swackers90 ...

  • @Swackers90 racist much?

  • Comment removed

  • As a non-American, the anti-atheist discriminatory attitude and prejudice which exists in the US comes across as both appalling and bizarre. Atheists are seen as fair game, even in the media (particularly on the Fox network). There is also so much ignorance of what atheism even means.

  • that cat is sexy.

  • ^5 for the Bruce Hornsby soundbite. "Monopolistic discrimination" exists when the civil and social power structures are controlled by one religion, like the LDS church. It's political. They vote in lockstep. They 'own' the lion's share of the talent base and support mechanisms. They have an informal internal economy of 'favors' granted and owed. And they have an agenda. Minorities can't compete. In my case, I'm thinking of blatantly biased soloist section for the 'community' Christmas choir.

  • The only discrimination i get is from muslims, they tell me their holy book told them to steal my shit and that im worse than a Jew for not believing...

  • Yup, I've been shunned by most of my family,I Have Never called them on their beliefs, But they just couldn't handle that I don't believe in any god.

  • Religion is evil because the act of believe you're right in your religion, means you believe that others who don't believe are wrong. That only separates people instead of realizing that we all just human. The same idea goes for skin color, nationality, age etc. Christian, Muslim and Judaism are particularly bad about separation, discrimination of people "Belivers go to heaven and Non-believers go to HELL. I guess that's what I deserve. Please make this world a better place , lose your religion

    .

  • There is discrimination against atheists, but atheists aren't innocent, i'm sorry but some atheists (i wont be ignorant and say all because i havent met all atheists) also love to put down christianity, they pick our patience by looking for ways to ridicule the beliefs towards god and jesus, gosh i hate religion at times, if there was no religion this world would be a better place...

  • a person is loved by the church for what they believe and hated for what they know

  • It's so weird. I live in Sweden and the whole atheist debate doesn't really exist here (or in the majority of Europe). So it feels kind of strange hearing about people (in the US) getting discriminated against because of their non-belief. I was kind of expecting more from the US....

    Such a shame really...

  • @PhillipChristoph Ha ha ha ha.......Why would athiests want sympathy from celestial zombie believing loonies?

  • The main thing that confirms chrstianity is utter bollocks is the behaviour of christians.

  • Im in college. I attend a leadership class. Last week we had a little something to eat in class for thanks giving. Someone was asked to pray. I was the only one to keep my head up, while every one else prayed. I was almost tempted to yell out I was an atheist, but then I realized why should it matter? It doesnt.

  • I am an atheist. I was going to watch this video but then I realized that I needed to beat some more hookers. I mean all atheists are immoral correct. I am an atheist and that was sarcasm.

  • Excellent presentation on anti-humanism.I always ask in such conversions -'do you think I am a bad person?''Do you trust me?''Do you agree that I should burn or be sent to oblivion?' that last one always gets them thinking.Your cold is no problem it just makes you sound sexy!

  • Thank you. You will hopefully inspire more people to be more Humanistic in their daily lives. It is all about love for your fellow man not an invisible god.

  • I've been watching your videos, and I'm right with you. Thank you for sharing, I was just involved in church as you and like your husband I was outed about evolution, and was treated as a devil worshiper. Even though I had no belief in either. The misunderstanding of science, the fear, and the hostile treatment i received showed me just how "Loving" many people i've known all my life really where. Keep up the good work!

  • i have a imac and your sound is very low!!!

  • I agree with you when Religious Fanaticism passes the boundary and intolerance against Atheists grows. But vice versa is true as well. E.g. Stalin, Mao zedong and the entire communist world are example of Atheistic intolerance against Religion. The root problem is not whether one is an Atheist or Religious. But whether one's mind is dominated by peaceful thoughts or ignorant thoughts.

  • A lot of people think that I somehow have "no morals" because I'm an atheist. One time i told my FRIEND I was actually atheist when he invited me to church and he said "oh, so what is it like to have no morals?" It wasn't even derogatory... he seemed to honestly think it was a fact atheists have no morals. Nowadays I never mention my religion (or lack of one) to anyone. I thought religion preached tolerance?? I guess not.

  • I am Chrstian, but I am discriminated:-(

  • Good on you ReligiousFiction. I am in a similar boat as you. Raised Christian, became atheist later in life. It started as a disgust for what the Catholic Church was doing, then led to more research into what other Christian sects believed, then into other religions. It culminated with a reading of the Bible, and that is the best way to create an atheist.

Welcome to you and all other non-believers. It may not always feel like it, but we are legion.

  • Dont follow men, follow GOd.

  • Im a catholic, and love God. But I work at a book store, an honestly i find that the bible wavers, who talk bad about science/atheist/gays, are awful people. They are rude and hateful to stranger, they never donate when we have donations for people in need, and we catch them stealing more than anyone else. Owning a bible does not make you a good person!

  • the problem with atheists is that they don`t go all the way and become Marxists .

they don`t take action... they talk against religion .. but when push comes to shove , they don`t want to smash all the churches , mosques , sinagoges ect .

and build schools on their places , like Stalin did for example ... instead they villafy him ...for taking action ....

  • @HK379 What a crock. Atheism just means someone doesn't believe in a deity. It has nothing to do with Marxism or communism. That's like saying Christians should become Nazis because Hitler was Roman Catholic.

    You are a Poe.

  • @AlienRelics

    Christians are already nazis .

    muslems too.

    religion = fashist lies .

  • @HK379 champion of the idiot, well done sir, take a bow to your open ignorance.

  • @kram83au

you have nothing to say ... thats why you attack me personaly .

  • @HK379 well spotted sherlock. as long as you wear the god glassess, people like you will always look like idiots. outside of faith you may well be a reasonable person.

  • @kram83au

There is no god . Gagarin went to space - saw no one there .

  • religion ruins things because it pushes people apart who could be in love. theres no god in that, even if god existed in the first place. the maker of this video on the other hand is smart and good looking! :)

  • I've seen more atheists attack Christians than anything else.

  • @NewTeutonicOrder2- And by that you must mean online, because there is no way atheist's can be ''attacking'' christian's when there the majority in America!

  • @honeyblossom17 Minorities can't attack a majority? It's proven that minorities do so much more often than the latter.

  • @NewTeutonicOrder2- I did not say that they can't attack, I said that it was UNLIKEY for atheist's to attack christian's in America.

  • @honeyblossom17 What's your statistics on that? In my opinion, every darwin symbol mocking the Christian Fish is an attack as its intentional mockery of one's belief.

  • @NewTeutonicOrder2- Get over it. You just feel like you're being attacked because you feel that your religion is being "blasphemed" by our comments. Something you respect so highly we simply walk all over it without realizing.

  • @honeyblossom17 Thanks for proving my point. Your insensitivity and lack of concern for the Christian culture shows not only your intolerance but also your hate and generalizations for it.

  • I'm an atheist but this is a gay video. Downvoted.

Sorry, I don't like being represented by idiots.

  • Fact of evodelusion? LOL Evodelusion is a best guess, at best.

  • Wow...O'Reilly, Beck and Maulkin. The Three Stooges of the Right.

  • It's always amusing to hear some religious quack talk about science when they don't even have a 7th grade understanding of basic biology. I hope mankind reaches a time where they look back on religion and wonder why it was ever necessary. Funny how older religions are called myths, and current religions are still valid and believed. Pathetic.

  • Terrifying that so many people could (a) believe this crap and (b) be that offensive about it. Whilst I acknowledge that there are many things wrong in Europe that I'd see changed, I can only thank fuck I don't live in the USA.

  • I just think its sad to not believe in anything better than this. There has got to be something better than this, even if its turning into a tree. That's my only thing about Atheists.

  • @lilminimoon You don't think reality is "good" enough? That this life each of us live, on a huge ball of rock rotating at a 1,000 mph, hurtling through space at tens of thousands of miles per hour with the mysteries of the cosmos isn't good enough? That there has to be some religion to make it worthwhile? Why can you not see the beauty and stark awesomeness of actual life without the dressing up of bronze aged fairy stories? If that's how you feel, OK, but that's MY only thing about religion.

  • I experienced an ENOURMOUS amount of discrimination when I went to a Catholic school.

After I had a tiny debate with my religious teacher asking him questions like "well if God is real then why is...."

Then while my back was turned, a few teachers read this PERSONAL notebook that I carried with me everywhere- REFUSED to give it back to me- then phoned up my parents and told them that I WAS A SATANIST!

    NO JOKE!!!

Then they forced me to go to counselling with the school nun for 3 years...

  • KIIIIIIITTTTTTTYYYYYY CAAAAAAAAAATTTTT :DDDDD

  • Christmas is about gifts. It's all about those sweet, sexy Christmas gifts.

And if you're not a Christian, you can't have any gifts.

Because Christmas is not -just- about gifts, oh no. It's also about bribery. And also about shame. Why can't you have any of these hot, sexy gifts? Because you're not a Christian. But if you were a Christian, you could have all these fabulous gifts.

  • Where you live definitely is in direct relation with how much confrontation you have to deal with as an atheist.

I live in Hungary which is one of the more religious countries in Europe, but our statistics are still nowhere near those of the US. I think there's also a difference in the "quality" of religion in different regions, e.g. over here there are much less people believing the Bible is the literal truth, or people who would get into religious arguments.

  • 3:10 lol homosexuality shouldn't be demonized either.

    Guess who also demonizes that?

    Them conservative Christians and Muslims.

  • In Greece, the word Atheist equals to a curse word and an offense. :/

  • in the uk your less normal if your religious

  • I've been lucky enough to grow up with the same friends for 10 years and coincidentally they all reached the same conclusion through their own paths...Atheism.

Just as I have. So thank god for that...Haahaha

  • @Strangerinasland I got hit with a drinking and driving charge 6 years ago. The court never reported the guilty finding to the registry of motor vehicle. When I went to renew my license a few months ago some overzealous worker there found a the old charge in the computer system and set things in motion to suspend my license for 2 years. Due to a law that past 2 years ago. I fought the suspension and the registry said too bad. Now I have to make sure I don't get stopped by cops.No darwin sybol

  • @ReligiousFiction I had to take the fish with feet symbol off the back of my car. Because my license is under suspension right now and being caught would be an automatic 60 days (minimum) sentence. You see a lot of cops are stupid ignorant and religious. Even here in liberal Massachusetts. They might be offended by my symbol and pull me over. That would send me off to jail. I'll put it back on when my license becomes valid again.

  • my child we raised as an athiest, godbless my unborn child for being a future athiest

  • God, I'm lucky to live in Germany. Most people I know (at least the smarter ones) are atheists. Its a shame that in the 21st century so many people still believe in this bs.

  • It's tempting to have the feeling to "know the truth", and people questioning this security are easily seen as a threat. That seems universal to all belief systems and ideologies, and if these have dictatorial power, opponents tend to be violently persecuted.

I really appreciate the amount of freedom we have in the West. Concerning religion American atheists obviouly often feel sidelined in a more religious environment, the theist-atheist debate is more relaxed in a widely secular Europe.

  • Thank you so much for your videos! You are awesome! ATHEISM for the win! :D

  • Its interesting how you note this from an Atheists perspective, but every religion in the world gets discriminated against.

  • Actually, discrimination against atheists is the right and just practice if a sane and stable society is to exist

  • @mrtadreamer fuck you

  • @slash3rr Your place or mine?

  • @mrtadreamer well I dont know little short on money xD

But seriously nobody should be discriminated. Moreover it shouldnt be law. And it should be done to have a stable society? Whats that about. Secular countries (where theres not a lot of discrimination) are more stable then religious ones.

  • @mrtadreamer Yes because we all know when Monotheism run society, things just run ever so smoothly. Like Islam in 3rd world countries or xianity in Africa. Yes we know how wonderfully theism is when monotheism runs things. Think about it.

  • The MORE I study science and see the beautiful complexity, the MORE STRONGLY I believe everything WAS created in a THEORETICAL "six day period" and on the

"7th theoretical day," He rested from ALL of His work and He sanctified it and made it holy!

In the movie "The March of the Penguin" HOW did those WONDERFUL, FLIGHTLESS birds get to KNOW what they NEEDED to know to survive the HARSH cold of the South Pole? The "big bang" or were they PROGRAMMED to know these things?

  • @intelligentlman The penguins' navigation is so great because over the course of time in evolution, the brain developes memory. It's similar to the way the inner part of the brain which is also connected to the spinal cord keeps the heart pumping.

  • @Gizzew No credit for God? Nope, let's call everything that was made a big, freaking accident! First there was nothing, then BOOM! A big explosion then penguins are smart enough to navigate and survive the harsh conditions of the South Pole, after a few billions of years of mutation, except, no fossil evidence shows this.

Well....if you think "God did it," your'e a backwards, inbred hick!

So I MUST believe a "freak explosion" created everything instead of God? Sorry, I CANNOT buy that!

  • @intelligentlman Not every atheist believes that the universe was created by the Big Bang. Many just don't know. How do you know that a God created everything?

  • @Gizzew I know Jehovah God created everything in nature because I know God is real. The dark glasses of disbelief blinds you so you cannot see His presence in so many things. As you pursue God, the darkness of the glasses fades, and more of the glorious light of God's presence shines through.

He ask's that we trust Him, to trust His wisdom and His ability to know what's right for each of us. It's NOT always easy, but He comes to my aid so I know He's closer that I thought He was!

  • @intelligentlman What about those people in East Asia who have never even heard of the concept of a God until they moved to the U.S.? What about those tribes in Africa that believe the creator of the universe was a pig, or a boar? What about Wickens? What about Buddhists? There are so many beliefs and religions, how is the Jehovah God anymore right than the other ones?

Well, I've tried, nothing's happening. Nothing. When I did believe in a God, nothing happened. Friends and family are enough :)

  • I was born in east Europe and I was never afraid to admit that I'm an atheist it was even fun and had a lot of conversation about this with my friends in high school and never lost a friend because my lack of belief.

I now live in central Canada but I will be afraid to make this information about me available to anyone.

  • Your eyes match your shirt ;)

  • I'm glad to be Canadian when it comes to this. Just tonight, I was having a discussion with an Agnostic, and I openly admitted to being an Atheist... Now I did get a dirty look from a pair of elderly people.

  • this is proof that atheist women are hot and christian women spread sexual

young christian woman use sex as a women then they grow up get fat christian women lie steal and cheat atheist are smart and sweet and honest simple differnce

  • If Athiests, agnostics, non beleivers, etc. are so violent, Then why has almost every single war we have ever been in, had at it's core, a religious conflict? Religious crusades, Jihad, fighting for religious freedoms etc. Heres the truth, and jesus ain't it. CONTROL, If you get the masses to beleive that death and punishment await them for their sins the become docile and pliable. Ever notice how similar Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are. lets not forget the many offshoots of each.

  • @jeff61177 When a new religious group appears more than likely its not because the celestial beings have come down and given the truth to a new prophet. It's usually because some scheming group is trying to gain control over the powers that be and by default over the masses. The future doth look bleak for the world full of people with morals created by their own experiences rational thought. Who then will listen to the scary man in the sky?

  • And then as a young girl I was bombarded by friends telling me I was going to burn for ever in hell because I was a Heathen. I was excluded, and cast out. Even when I caved..I tried to go to church but because I was a non believer I was treated somewhat differently by my peers. This isn't as extreme as what has happened to some..but it has caused rifts from my family and friends from a young age, and now severe problems with my marriage.

  • @EliseVintage - I am so glad to make your online acquaintance! I'm glad you know you're not alone. You sound so strong; I can't imagine having to deal with all the discrimination you've dealt with all your life. You are an inspiration.

  • @EliseVintage That sucks. I'm sorry.

This is why I don't date people who aren't at least agnostic-atheist.

  • @ryepdx I'm now in the process of getting a divorce. I refuse to go through what I went through again

  • I live in the Biblebelt but I had never even met another Atheist until very recently, and only felt brave enough to call myself an Atheist after watching Youtube Atheists. As a younger child I had been punishment and yelled at. When I was four I was screamed at for saying "Jesus didn't make sense. and Satan wasn't real" When I was in fourth grade by my mother I was grounded by asking to many questions and when no one would answer them I would reject God all together vocally

  • I am not allowed to tell my family..it affected my in-laws opinion of me, and was brought up the night before my wedding to my husband. Coming out about my Atheism has effected my marriage and has been blamed for every problem in my marriage.I've been told I can't teach my children the way I see fit and in the little girl I'm helping to raise I can not say anything to her about church or faith. Every relationship I have with my theist friends has been effected by coming out.

  • A Christian co-worker I used to be friends with is now continually suggesting I commit suicide and offering different ways for me to "just end it" 3 and four times a day after the idea settled in his head that I was an atheist. What I don't get is that he thinks he's extreme for christ but he's just an extreme hypocrite. He's been doing this for a week, and seams to enjoy doing it whenever he walks by. I think tomorrow is going to be the day I confront him.

  • @zacbouwens - That's abuse. I hope to hear how his harassment has been stopped.

  • @ReligiousFiction He didn't show up to work today. I was refreshing but if he confronts me tomorow, I'm going to tell him how I feel about what he's saying to me.

  • @zacbouwens I agree on one point. Don't tell people to "just end it" and to commit suicide. is just plain wrong.

  • @zacbouwens how did it go?

  • It goes both ways Dear. All you have to remember is God loves you. Yes, God does exist. Athiests discriminate against religious and vice versa. All religions discriminate against other religions. It should not be that way. However, it is. God does exist, look into Lee Strobel.

  • @blahantigod - I agree discrimination can work both ways, but that is no reason to excuse any form of discrimination, from any group. I think we should join together and fight it, not accept it as a fact of human nature. Just read some of the comments - the kind of discrimination people are describing in my videos happens because atheists are the minority; might does not make right. We should fight discrimination in all its forms.

  • What is happening to me is tiny compared to what most of you have to say, however it still affects me so.There is a kid in my chorus class that doesn't like me because I have long hair. I have let him borrow my pencil on occasions and i do get it back. He refuses to shake my hand and help me push one of the stands we stand on . As soon as i tried to help him push the stand he just said "No, not you" and helped someone else. I was able to do it on my own without hassle, but it's the hate i feel..

  • @meowmeowhigh - Thank you for sharing your trying experiences. I can't believe you have to feel such negative emotions from other people. Stay strong. Get help from adults when you can. (That guy has a lot of problems. It's not about you - it's about him - though I know that doesn't feel great.)

  • @meowmeowhigh I don't think I can adequately express how I feel but your story brings tears to my eyes.

It's a shame so many theists don't believe in equality & human rights & do not practice the Golden Rule.

I hope somehow things are better for you now.

  • Thank you so much for making this video.

  • You are courageous. Thank you so much for making these videos.

  • My Cousin was attacked and killed by 3 other teens because they found out in government class that she was an atheist.

  • @ThePsychoticScyth396 -

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    D:

  • @ThePsychoticScyth396

WTF!? Christians have their extremists just like the Muslims do I suppose.

  • 3. (cont'd) My old neighbours were Catholic, but the only reason I knew this was because I saw them go out early on Sundays for church, and because the kids went to a Catholic school. Where I live, it really doesn't matter what you believe. Out of all the people I know, most are either atheist or Hindu, or they're Catholic only because their family is. I find that people around here, especially people my age, just don't give a crap.

  • (cont'd) 3. I haven't experienced what I would call discrimination. I live in Canada, which I imagine would definitely be a factor… According to Wikipedia, the city I live in is predominantly Christian, but you'd never know it. I was raised in a secular family. Hell, even my grandma isn't religious. She was raised as a Protestant, but, ya know. It never really stuck, I guess.

  • 1. Love your cat. Reminds me of a cat that belonged to a woman I dogsit for. I totally wanted to take her home. But then she died! D: I was so sad.

    2. Good video. The news clips were pretty enraging for me. Pretend that I'm Brian, and those people from the news clips are Peter:

BRIAN: Do you even listen to yourself when you speak?

PETER: Eh, I drift in and out.

    Jeez, man!

    (to be continued…)

  • India's first prime minister was an Atheist. I wonder if Ravi Zacharias knows about that.

The stereotypes that we atheist have to deal with is unfortunate.

  • You think thats fun try being a Black male and an Atheist

  • @arock2008 Imagine how much more fun you could of had if you were gay too.

The majority picking on the minority is cowardice. Some people are way too hung up on labelling one another and putting them into neat little groups that they can discriminate against.

Hopefully you have people that accept you for you, instead of just looking at the labels.

  • You have a beautiful cat. Your eyes look the same color almost. hehe

  • I'd hate to live in the States....

  • It could happen in the morning and I'd come home late in the afternoon and I'd still have the marks on my throat, I was even pushed off a very long and HARD pair of stairs on one occasion, and with every year that passed more ppl joined in.

In the end I even got neck/shoulder/back complaints out of it.

There, as short a recap as I could manage.

  • @Seymour13 - :( I am so glad that you shared that. I can see how someone with the characteristics you describe yourself (intelligent, independent, skeptical, and interested in certain music and fashion) would be worse than ridiculed in certain areas. I can't believe how cruel people can be to outsiders. Did your parents know about any of this?

  • @ReligiousFiction

Np, it's not something I normally discuss but I thought it was important to do so in this case.

To awnser your question: they did, but since the teachers always said they didn't see anything and due to the fact that the ppl doing it were kids my age my parents couldn't do much about it.

My dad did teach me some martial arts at a young age though so I wasn't easy to pick on, hence the groups.

Once I was 11 we moved away and that was the end of that.

  • And 3) seeing as I spent alot of time talking with adults, my vocabulary and reasoning (did an IQ test based on logic and reasoning at age 9 and I scored higher than the average adult) was far above that of the others kids at school.

They ofcourse couldn't deal with that and hence the above-mentioned treatment started.

By the time I reached age 7 things had progressed from normal beatings to outright strangling and such.

  • The main three reasons were, 1) that I was raised to openly questioned things I didn't find to be logical (like religion) or disagreed with (like a girl in my class getting special treatment by being allowed to keep her headscarf on in class, yet I had to remove my DHL cap, that kind of thing didn't sit well with me).

    2) I loved black clothes (especially with skulls and snakes), wanted long hair, always had Iron Maiden or similar heavy metal blasting from my walkman, etc.

  • Btw, I could share some of my experiences with discrimination, but I'm afraid that would take at least 2~3 entire pages here in the comment section plus I don't have a webcam so I can't upload it.

Long story short; was in a christian school age 4~11 and the discrimination ranged from the other kids beating me up (teachers ignoring it ofc.) and the teachers punishing me if I fought back, to not even being safe on the route from school to home, even in my own neighbourhood.

  • I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO subbed :).

    Cheers!

  • When I was 16 working as a bagger at a grocery store a women cashier got in my face and threatened to slap me for saying that the prophets of the bible were baby killing rapists.i got stared at weird looks from other workers until I moved out of that shitty small town. I still have a big mouth and I value my having no shame in publicly professing my atheism .

  • I've always found it amusing how some religious people are so intolerant of other views. I've never been religious, and yet I actually find all religions extremely interesting - it's like a study of social history.

On a side note - your videos are excellent! Did you go to school for teaching?

  • Very nice job, keep it up!

  • Being an Atheist wouldn't really present a problem in daily life if religious folk didn't consider it their God Given Right to pass judgment on those not of their faith, as if their God needed assistance.

Without that need to judge - no problems between these differing folk would occur.

  • After a girl found out about my atheism, she lost all interest in dating me. That was it.

  • Very nicely done!

But I think your cat was slacking on the job, quite frankly (he looks a lot like my recently deceased cat, who was also a slacker).

  • I live in Poland. I think its enough said. The kind of xenophobia, antisemitism and all this hate that comes from people is just appaling.

  • I see all people as equals; regardless of race, religion, gender, gender orientation, etc. As a Free Thinker I choose for myself, not being tied to what a church tells me to believe. 3, last (3/3) Choose Freedom, Think for Yourself. thank you

  • Religious people have repeatedly been abusive to anyone, who questions the fairness of “their belief that someone like the Dali lama would go to hell but a murdering rapist on death row would go to heaven” I don't think that would happen IF god was as fair, just, and as good as they claimed. It seems that the only purpose for belonging to one religion vs. another, is to be told who to hate.

  • I've HAD friends who "Preached their Religion" and when I added ... "There Are Many Paths To Enlightenment" .. I was promptly and repeatedly verbally abused, called abusive vicious names de-friended etc, just for suggesting that there i...s more than one way of looking at things. This is a loving god? Seems very closed minded and unloving, I would say. - 1, contued next

  • Fantastic video! Thank you!

  • Do what? Nope. Not yet. I still have something too important to do with my life, to carelessly get lynched and dumped into a river eddy.

  • Very interesting and eloquent monologue, but I have to skip those clips of fundamentalists, because they are really making me sick...

I'm glad that in Berlin, the city where I live, atheist are the majority (ca. 60%).

  • People of faith who discriminate against non-believers are completely out of touch with humanity.

  • why do they keep say'in Babe jesus?he was in his 30's when he died right?

  • @alltiedup217

Probably because it makes the emotional impact greater when they invoke his name. Such tactics aren't exactly rare within religious groups.

  • Thanks for posting. Just filled out my volunteer paper work for Camp Quest Chesapeake. I will be there with my son. Cant wait.

  • One of the best videos I've seen in a long time. I'd give it five stars if I could.

  • @SabreKitteh - Quite a compliment! Thank you very much!

  • "If atheism is true,"

Statements made by people ignorant to the love provided by atheism.

  • ✮ ✮ ✮ ✮ Wow What a great video.

  • Glen Beck, lol. the atheist baby is crying because she's surrounded by crazy christians!

  • A great deal of discrimination is very difficult to track. Businesses have gotten very good at covering this sort of thing up. Oh - and...

    KITTAH!!!!!!

  • @HitchSlapYouSon You got that right. I moved to Texas long ago and people here are very ignorant and hypocritical about religion and race. As for the A shirt, thanks; I'll be sure to buy one soon. Seems stylish :p

  • In Norway religious people are ridiculed, and everybody here knows that religion is just organized superstition, nothing more.

  • Your explanations at approx 9minutes time-elapse were extremely succinct and pithy and quite clear. I commend and praise your ability to be so directly eloquent, intelligent, plain and simple in your wonderful speech. Thank you for a very wise and educational video, which i will gladly share with my friends.

  • Jesus told his followers that such people as these are blind follower of blind guides and to leave them alone.

What is the gist of what he is really saying here?

That these same sad so called followers of Jesus, that are self deceived and full of emotional turmoil wil be the very first people to enter into the very hell that they are pushing on others.

Which is not to say that hell be the hell they preach,i.e. eternal burning.

But rather not the heaven that they think awaits them.

  • It's a blind obedience that they are indoctrined into believing that displays a selfish attitude, I AM RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG!!!

I have known many 'christians that behave just like the woman @ 1:40 that are frustrated and angry at God.

I cannot tell you how many times I have been called a devil, a Judas, a Jezebel, etc by church people and I am a believer in God.

These same kinds of people are everywhere on yt, blind obedient zombies to what they only believe in true but is a counterfeit.

  • Your videos are always very thoughtful & straight to the point.

It is true that the most angry hateful people are all to often religious people that are mean spirited, which is the very antithesis of true christianity.

Why do they behave like this?

Because what the preach is not true in their own lives and as a result they are outwardly projecting their internal rage at God on people, thinking that if they show God that they are rigorous in spouting scrpture then he wll be pleased with them.

  • BTW, Poland's population is in vast majority Catholic (~60%) and all of what you're saying seems like a lunatic talk and totally unreal. So put your American wackos in order and bug off from Catholics worldwide.

  • Personally I haven't encountered much discrimination. Yet. And that maybe because not many people know (...)"

    Sounds like a paranoia.

    .

In every civilized country atheists get shit from believers and believers get shit from atheists alike so why don't you harden the fuck up :P

  • Can anyone point me in the direction of the source of that first clip.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Meh, maybe its just cause it isn't a huge deal here in Nevada, but the discrimination I've felt is minor, and for the most part I could care less. My parents didn't talk to me for a few months, and my girlfriend split when I told her, but it doesn't really seem anything worth whining about. People should be allowed to discriminate for any reason in my opinion, and so long as there is no violence who really cares?

  • I want to marry you in the face

  • :O, your cat is exactly like one of my cats.

  • . . . heaven keeps hell full of christians!
