How often do you need to adjust truss rod, i imagine is a little annoying given that you have to take off the strings and neck. Thats my only concern about getting this great guitar.
Hi! I just saw one of these on Thomann real cheap! I could feel my wallet got kinda heavy, are you happy with it so far? how is that neck? fat? anything you think I should know about before I make my wife misserable? nice playing too! thanks
@satjathamma Hi, For the price (380€ in 2007th !!!) i am very happy ! And happy with it so far. You can play Clapton, Gilmour and Hank Marvin very easily.
The neck is Soft V. Not Fat but medium/fat for Fender. '62 neck is more thin.
You should buy this guitar and say it's a gift for your wife. She will be surprised and happy to have a gift, and you can play with. (Guitar and your wife !...) ;-)
hi nice playing, would like to ask what are the differences between this and the classic 50, i just planning to get one of them or a classic 70 in alternative, which of these you like more, ?
sounds nice. i gotta mexican standard strat black w/ pearloid pickgaurd and Peavy Vypyr amp (30 watts). i play blues, rock, metal, country, jazz, anything :)
I agree, I have the same guitar and the pickguard is kinda thin.. mine warps up a bit cause its not thick enough to hold itself down. makes it seem cheap when in reality its not.
Man I know that they used 1 ply guards back then and all about the reissue stuff you are talking about! It's the same with the trussrod, you adjust in from the heel of the neck and not from the top like you do on the newer ones. But still, I personaly think that it looks bad. Remember that this is only my opinion! Some people like 1 ply, others more... The guitar still sounds great!
I Have the same guitar but when I use the tremolo, the tuning is lost in the first two strings, and retrieved when I push the tremolo lever up, which is very annoying especially when it is playing live. Greetings
So depressing watching this knowing that i will never have the feel or skill to play like this...that being said I still watched it three times...glutton for punishment I guess...
thank you VERY VERY MUCH for this video. i'm a fingerpicker as well and it's REALLY hard to find a good video for me to figure out what the tone would be like on some guitar (everyone uses picks for some reason, hehe). and right now i got my eyes set on a classic 50's strat so this vid is sopt on! greetings from zagreb. croatia!
ditto on the mark knopfler influence haha. how do you like the Classic Player strat compared to other strats? I've heard great things about it even though its a MIM...
salut , je pense avoir le meme ampli que toi deriere le champ 600 é j aimeré me payé la meme guitare . poura tu un jour si tu as le temps faire un essai avec les deux . tu jou bien .
It has to do with the shape of the back of the neck, the part which your thumb is in contact with, not the part facing the strings. The "C" neck is flatter in the middle and feels wider than the "V" neck, which is a bit more peaked in the centre (both neck profiles are the same width). It's a subtle difference, but noticeable to someone who has become familiar with the Strat.
Hi. I am on the market for a reliable fender and was wondering if this fender has a 'sharp' v tint to it or if it is more subtle. having big hands id really like to know before i buy. thanks! great playing by the way!
This is awesome. I'm new in this field. I'm looking for a budget fender guitar and this one deffinetaly suits my needs. I've noticed a huge difference in sound between those two models 50's/60's and as a huge Pink Floyd fan I think that 50's is way better.
I would like to have your opinion on the classic player 50's. Is it a good guitar? I'm a complete beginner on the electric guitar and I'm thinking about buying one, a stratocaster. For me the classic player 50 and 60 are very nice, but I don't know anything about them, thats why I need your advice. I'm a beginner that is looking for a nice clean tone, a quality guitar, in a good pricerange. Could you give some advice? thx
If you are a beginner to the guitar, I'll try advised to go into a store ... Classic Player Player Classic'50 and'60 are quite different in sound and comfort. But they are a very good choice of guitar. The best value for money at Fender.
If you love to play clean (The Shadows, Country, Rockabilly,Surf Music,The first album of Dire Straits) chooses CP50
If you love to play more bold (Hendrix,Funk or Reggae) chooses CP60
But the two guitar are still versatile and you can play all styles with them.
Hmmm I think Mark Knopfler when I hear this!
Very good , that's how a strat should be played.

Guys, the 50s series are quite wiry sounding compared to say the classic 60s, is that ONLY due to the pickups used? cheers.

@Danthehorse the neck is the most important : 1/3 pickups + 2/3 Neck.

@CHARLIESLYSTER It is because of your age (14) I thought the neck would not be appropriate. But if you like fat neck, it's ok.

what does the v neck mean?
fredericiscool 3 years ago
It has to do with the shape of the back of the neck, the part which your thumb is in contact with, not the part facing the strings. The "C" neck is flatter in the middle and feels wider than the "V" neck, which is a bit more peaked in the centre (both neck profiles are the same width).
