  • Hmmm I think Mark Knopfler when I hear this!

Very good , that's how a strat should be played.

  • How often do you need to adjust truss rod, i imagine is a little annoying given that you have to take off the strings and neck. Thats my only concern about getting this great guitar.

  • I have this guitar and i am about to sell it but i am not sure if its 100% classic PLAYER. Is this golden color 100% PLAYER one because my is golden?

  • very tasty playing... enjoy listening to this now and again

  • bitchin!

  • I wll not read all the comments. Can you tell me what setup you play with it? With Mamory Man in the Vox?

    Best Regards

  • @thoblaro Just guitar and amp

  • Guys, the 50s series are quite wiry sounding compared to say the classic 60s, is that ONLY due to the pickups used? cheers.

  • @Danthehorse the neck is the most important : 1/3 pickups + 2/3 Neck.

  • @looping800 thanks mate

  • I like very well.

  • @CHARLIESLYSTER Of course, but may be the neck (soft V neck ) is a little big for you.

  • Comment removed

  • @CHARLIESLYSTER It is because of your age (14) I thought the neck would not be appropriate. But if you like fat neck, it's ok.

  • Hi! I just saw one of these on Thomann real cheap! I could feel my wallet got kinda heavy, are you happy with it so far? how is that neck? fat? anything you think I should know about before I make my wife misserable? nice playing too! thanks

  • @satjathamma Hi, For the price (380€ in 2007th !!!) i am very happy ! And happy with it so far. You can play Clapton, Gilmour and Hank Marvin very easily.

The neck is Soft V. Not Fat but medium/fat for Fender. '62 neck is more thin.

You should buy this guitar and say it's a gift for your wife. She will be surprised and happy to have a gift, and you can play with. (Guitar and your wife !...) ;-)

  • nice! What amp are you using?

  • hi nice playing, would like to ask what are the differences between this and the classic 50, i just planning to get one of them or a classic 70 in alternative, which of these you like more, ?

  • @ivncdo0809 Hi. Pickups, neck profile, fret size and bridge are different. Its been a lot of things ;-)

  • Your very similar to Mark Knopfler, which is awesome. Also the backing track reminds me of Sultans Of Swing :D

  • is it a good guitar to buy?

  • @Slayer95pro yes, it's very good. I wish I had one, but the Classic Fender 60 one.

  • Is it a very good guitar?

  • very nice playing, and very nice sound ;)

  • Nice

  • Hi buddy,

    Congrats, great playing!!!

Just a little question: Are you using your pickup booster on all the videos you made when testing our Classic Player 50s?

  • @msfbernardi Almost all.

  • sound great on the maple wood neck

  • tu la acheté ou ?

  • @sweatdreams94 DV247

  • Vraiment très très bon ... J'adore ta main droite a la MK, tu maitrise parfaitement bien !

  • sounds like sos :D

    nice playing and nice tone!!

  • oh youre french^^

    tu est très bien :D

    continue comme ça!

  • this solo really makes me feel good

    warm tone,

what amplifier did you use in this video?

  • Mark Knoffler junior, nice!

  • love it that tone is niceeeeeeee

  • sounds nice. i gotta mexican standard strat black w/ pearloid pickgaurd and Peavy Vypyr amp (30 watts). i play blues, rock, metal, country, jazz, anything :)

  • like the tones you are getting...nice!

  • haha sorry buddy, but i don't think you understand what an 'impro' is. sounded good though :)

  • WOW!

  • Love the axe, but really really hate the 1ply pickguard....

  • I agree, I have the same guitar and the pickguard is kinda thin.. mine warps up a bit cause its not thick enough to hold itself down. makes it seem cheap when in reality its not.

  • vintage reissue...my custom shop came with a one ply...that's why they are called reissues..don't sweat it man it's a pick guard..

  • im sitting on a 58 reissue custom shop strat..1 ply that's all this baby came with and i would not change it..infact it looks great!

  • Man I know that they used 1 ply guards back then and all about the reissue stuff you are talking about! It's the same with the trussrod, you adjust in from the heel of the neck and not from the top like you do on the newer ones. But still, I personaly think that it looks bad. Remember that this is only my opinion! Some people like 1 ply, others more... The guitar still sounds great!

  • well at least it is only a pickguard easy enough to change!

  • Good Job!!!!

  • yeah ,sultan of swing !

  • dire straits the seconed!

  • Fender Deluxe>Classic players>standard american. IMO.

  • sounds like sultans of swing

  • is this american or mexican strat

  • Isnt classic player strats always mexican?

    I might be wrong tho!

  • mexican made

  • mexican, but it's better than a standard american

  • @popomczowzow I agree men

  • @popomczowzow I agree, the classic player series are very, very good!! My classic player strat beats my 82 USA strat by far!

  • Hi Friend. Amanzing Playing!!!

I Have the same guitar but when I use the tremolo, the tuning is lost in the first two strings, and retrieved when I push the tremolo lever up, which is very annoying especially when it is playing live. Greetings

  • I bought this guitar yesterday online for 649,- euros. In 2-3 weeks I have it.

  • pas mal le son =)

  • Knopfler is your idol, no?

    Perfect playing though!!

  • that's soooo frickin' awesome!!!

  • Most beautiful improv on youtube to me.

  • This improv chills me, thank you verry much sir !

I had a bad day, and it makes the day good.

  • Very fluid

  • what's the guitar and amp?

  • respect

  • Good impro. Not copying, just taking the essence, good job.

    PD: Dm scale?

  • Great job!

    Very "Knopfler-ish" sound:D!

  • what dose it have for pickups?

  • Fender '57/'62

  • So depressing watching this knowing that i will never have the feel or skill to play like this...that being said I still watched it three times...glutton for punishment I guess...

  • never say never man.

  • you will, takes time.

  • is this good for playing eric johnson

  • thank you VERY VERY MUCH for this video. i'm a fingerpicker as well and it's REALLY hard to find a good video for me to figure out what the tone would be like on some guitar (everyone uses picks for some reason, hehe). and right now i got my eyes set on a classic 50's strat so this vid is sopt on! greetings from zagreb. croatia!

  • i like sound!

  • ditto on the mark knopfler influence haha. how do you like the Classic Player strat compared to other strats? I've heard great things about it even though its a MIM...

  • It is a very good guitar. Are weak, his varnish is too thick.

  • is this one made in mexico?

  • Yes

  • Is this a rosewood neck ?

  • Fender 50's don't have a rosewood neck.

    They all have maple necks.

  • maple.

  • Great sound.

    Great playing.

You are Mark Knopfler of youtube.

  • I can tell you like mark knopfler. One of my biggest influences as well

  • Great tone and playing!!!!

  • ★★★★★

  • C'est un manche en profil U

    ?

  • fenders are the best.

  • awesome

  • Salut ! Bravo pour ct'e petite impro ! TRes sympa !

  • Finally a good review of this guitar!! Really nice playing btw

  • What scale are you using¿???¿¿?

    5 stars of course ;)

  • This is a very beautiful guitar!

  • jeah i liked it

  • what does the v neck mean?

  • It has to do with the shape of the back of the neck, the part which your thumb is in contact with, not the part facing the strings. The "C" neck is flatter in the middle and feels wider than the "V" neck, which is a bit more peaked in the centre (both neck profiles are the same width). It's a subtle difference, but noticeable to someone who has become familiar with the Strat.

  • Very nice.

  • Nice playing and sound. What amp are you using? I'd prefer the maple myself but don't like the V shape.

  • Oh! Thats very good, and a nice Fender Strat!

  • i just bought i 60's classic player. i wish id bought the 50's tho. i preffer the sound of the maple neck

  • Mexico?

  • yes but with usa pick ups

  • hello. if you dont mind can you play the song Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits? =D

if so please message me. you are a very good player and chose an excellent guitar my friend

  • Hi. I am on the market for a reliable fender and was wondering if this fender has a 'sharp' v tint to it or if it is more subtle. having big hands id really like to know before i buy. thanks! great playing by the way!

  • Hi,

this fender has a soft V neck. I do not have large hands. The playability/comfort is very good.

  • This is awesome. I'm new in this field. I'm looking for a budget fender guitar and this one deffinetaly suits my needs. I've noticed a huge difference in sound between those two models 50's/60's and as a huge Pink Floyd fan I think that 50's is way better.

Could you tell me please what amp are you using?

    Best regards, Rozq.

  • Vox AC15CC1

    Thank's.

  • omfg dude....this frickin owns

  • Hi there,

I like your video's, nice playing.

I would like to have your opinion on the classic player 50's. Is it a good guitar? I'm a complete beginner on the electric guitar and I'm thinking about buying one, a stratocaster. For me the classic player 50 and 60 are very nice, but I don't know anything about them, thats why I need your advice. I'm a beginner that is looking for a nice clean tone, a quality guitar, in a good pricerange. Could you give some advice? thx

  • If you are a beginner to the guitar, I'll try advised to go into a store ... Classic Player Player Classic'50 and'60 are quite different in sound and comfort. But they are a very good choice of guitar. The best value for money at Fender.

If you love to play clean (The Shadows, Country, Rockabilly,Surf Music,The first album of Dire Straits) chooses CP50

If you love to play more bold (Hendrix,Funk or Reggae) chooses CP60

But the two guitar are still versatile and you can play all styles with them.

  • thx for the reaction, I appreciate it.

  • Salut!
