Bamboo Harvester, the real name of Mister Ed, passed away in 1970 from arthritis and kidney problems. There was a second Mister Ed, who did publicity until his death in 1979. In the 80's, when Nick at Nite picked Mr. Ed up, they used a palomino for publicity as well under the name Mister Ed. Hope this helps.
Mister Ed was palomino. This is simply the horse TvLand picked to accept the award. It is a Mister Ed stand-in. The horse in the video has palomino coloring, I guess that is why TvLand picked him.
