  • Thanks you helped me with my biolagy project alot

  • Reply to Tones4me 1:

Celiac Expert: You need to go see your gastro. and mabeye get health insurance. ER is another choice because you condition sounds life threatening.

  • Celiac Expert: When a celiac patient consumes gluten, the small intestine which is where most nutrient absorption takes place, produces a negative reaction to gluten which causes it to destroy the villi or tiny fingerlike hairs lining the small intestine. The villi help absorb nutrients so when this negative reaction takes place, malnutrition can occur which is a serious problem for anybody.

  • I will eat gluten for the rest of my life screw my celiac disease!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 2 days ago i found i was celiac. and not only that but i found out along with that im allergic to peanuts, soy, and corn. im 17 and ive been eating stuff with gluten all my life. how much damaged have i done to myself and will sticking to a gluten free diet fix the damage ive done to myself?

  • @JoshWithHisCello It's a good sign that your condition was caught early in life. Some people go decades without a diagnosis. The gluten-free diet can heal your small intestine over time, but it's very important that you stay 100% gluten-free. Please visit CeliacCentral [dot] org and download our Getting Started Guide. It's on the Printable Guides page, under "Resources." I also suggest that you sign up for our monthly e-newsletter. Sign-up is on righthand of CeliacCentral [dot] org.

  • @JoshWithHisCello I think oats are also gluten free. Amarynth/Quinoa are also gluten free and there's an Ethiopian grain known as Neff which is also very nutritious and gluten free.

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses It is in no way a blessing. It's a disease which has made my life very diffucult and you are lucky not to have it. And there's no such thing as being addicted to carbs - It's called gluttony you fattie. Coeliac Disease is not some fad diet, the people who have it have to suffer through it for the rest of our lives.

  • I am coeliacs disease, and my symptoms is i am sick violently!

    It's so annoying!

  • Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. It also can be 'hidden' in things like gravy, soy sauce and salad dressing. Individuals with celiac disease must avoid eating gluten, as it damages the small intestines and can lead to serious health problems. Visit CeliacCentral [dot] org to learn more!

  • What is gluten? (Im only a 10 year old girl...so...YEAH..whatcha gonna do bout it?)

  • @coolkatz00 im 10 too

gluten is the protien in wheat

  • Learn to pronounce your words.

  • I think no one should be eating gluten... Im mean look around you all the crap is gluten.... and doctors are making so much money... cuz people in majority are all eating crap... which means more visits to the doctors and more prescitions written by them.. If only everyone would eat healthy foods such, as fish, chicken, veggies, fruits, nuts, and so on. Thanks..

  • @MrYamahaMC i agree i have a food addiction to fats, carbs, sugar. Lately when i eat bread i get disgusting sulfur burps, diarrhea, and i throw up. if i do have this disease, it is a blessing in helping me overcome my addiction to JUNK!

  • @EyeWearMySunglasses i am extacly like you.

    are you stalking me????

  • @MrYamahaMC Everyone should become experts in nutrition, health and a broad understanding of how everything fits together. This is the only way each individual can empower themselves to not be preys of evil greedy bastards out for their money at the expense of their health. Gluten is just one small aspect. Learning about Lectins and Phytates for example that cause a lot of digestive and auto-immune reactions in foods touted as 'healthy'. Once you find the foods that work for you...blisssss.

  • does smoking make it worse or harm in anyway?

  • You spelt Coeliac wrong, you spelt it Celiac..

  • It's spelled Coeliac in England and Australia, maybe other places too.

  • it IS correct. Its Celiac to spell it correctly.

  • @wildHEARTwarriorXD i have it so i should know that its spelt coeliac, i live in england, they might spell it different in other places though so dont say i spelt it wrong, i know it might be spelt that way where you are.

  • thanks for explaining the reasons for a strict diet...

  • No I'm scared and I'm going to make sure I eat nothing with gluten. I have been doing this since I was 16 months old. I try to avoid and I do avoid gluten at all costs but that risk of cancer has scared me. I am 13 at the time right now and I'm hoping that they come up with a cure for celiac diease. If they don't i'm sure I will be fine because gluten-free is a healthy diet and I've been doing it most my life. Thanks for the information.

  • I no longer have diareha after 20 years but now I have constipation. I am not working and have no health insurance or money. My eyes are blood shot and I wake up as tired as when I went to bed. Was tested last yr for diabetes but my sugar level is good. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Thanks

  • @Tones4me1

one year ago? get another blood sugar test. celiac and diabetes are linked.

  • tones ......Did u get your thyroid checked ? I am a coeliac but have been diagnosed also with hypothyroidism and apparently these are linked , i was like you , no energy , woke up feeling like i hadn't slept

  • Yes and it showed that my thyroid was very under active so I took Armour, then another dr switched me to iodine because it helps to stimulate it, Armour shuts it down. I have been busy caring for my elderly in-laws which is stressful and the exhaustion is really bad now and my hair is showing the stress. Back to the dr.

  • p.s ths video was very informative, thankyou :) x

  • Hey great celiac video i rated yours five stars.

I just made a celiac song.

Can you watch mine, since i watched yours?

I rated yours five stars please do the same for mine. Can you comment so I will know it was you. Thanks

  • i knew i have had CD for about 5 years but i was never told i could be so sick from it

is it alright to have some gluten every now and then?

    in small controlled amounts

  • Ask your doctor ^_^

  • No. If you are a celiac you are not to have ANY gluten at all.

  • =(i think i got this all my life and most of my diet is pasta and stuff , im 19 years old atm, if i start eating gluten free would i be ok

  • Better visit a doctor, also visit a doctor dealing with neurological diseases. Gluten can affect the brain.

  • i hear ya sista. ive got it too

  • Thank you for this most informative presentation. As someone with Celiac Disease (CD), I am frustrated by myriad of information that make light of "gluten intolerance". This nonchalant attitude can be very dangerous to someone with CD ("Oh, it only has a little bit of flour in it."). My CD was so advanced that I began experiencing vital organ damage/failure due to malnutrition, as well as hypothyroidism. Thanks again for your video.

  • Very true :) Ive only recently had many of the symptoms of it (more so wheat intolerance or wheat allergy) but have a blood test for Celiac next week. I am nervous but after a couple of years I would finally like to know what is wrong with me so I can continue my life. My dad had bowel cancer recently (in remission now thankfully) which rang alarm bells as Celiac is linked to it. Fingers crossed. x

  • Hello Helen -

I'm sorry to hear about your wheat allergy symptoms. I applaud your decision to have the blood test done; however, do keep in mind that you may receive a false reading on the result/s (I've heard of this happening to several people). In the interim, I suggest you adhere to a strict GF diet, and monitor everything you eat. It's difficult to do, but the results (e.g., the way you feel) will be well worth it. (To be continued...)

  • I'm very sorry to hear about your father, and I do hope that he remains cancer-free. However, this dovetails into another issue: Celiacs (and people with gluten allergies?) are more susceptible to colon cancer, and should get checked more frequently than the general public -- particularly if someone in your immediate family had colon cancer. As a precautionary measure, talk to your doctor about having a colonoscopy done. Best wishes, and let me know if I can help in any other way. God bless.
