It's funny, someone says "oh he does't use his pinky" and in the next moment everyone gives comments like "oh, fuck of you pussy wtf !!11". Sure, Schenker is a master. And he wouldn't sound any better with it. But it's also true, that using your pinky makes fast playing and scales a lot easier. Or Sweeping/piking arpeggios. It would not sound better, but it would be easier.

@JOJo20000Meilen MANY players don't use there pinky as much as u would think.In some cases its a show of superiority.Jazz guys often use the 3rd finger instead of the pinky because its better for slurs, hammers.i saw Pat matheny a while back and was shocked how often he used his 3rd finger instead of his pinky.When u consider that MS has 1 of the greatest vibratos ever i think that not using the pinky so much is better.it wouldn't work with his style.also scales,sweeps sound like poop next to MS

Schenker is one of the greats for sure. The first time I can remember hearing him as a teenager was with UFO. He is still one of my favorites because he possesses the elusive speed with expression with signature style with elusive tone with elusive I want to play like that guy.

Michael Schenker is like a fine wine. He gets better with age. He was so drunk and disoriented most of his career that live he was just phoning it in big time. Now that he's cleaned up and gotten past a lot of his demons, he's tearing it up like he never did before. The dude is freaking bad ass. Yes, Michael did have this issue. Its marketability. Comparing a solo guitarist, even Yngwie when he toured here in the states played clubs in the cities that were smaller exclusive venues when he wasn't warmin up on a headliners tour. We're talking venues of 500-1000 - bars/clubs. Nowadays, you have acts like Firehouse, Ratt playing the same. Few BANDS still pull headline arenas - the rest go where it still pays

Gary Barden always tires on tour, he did in the 80's. it is great to see them writing and touring together again, just like old times. That last solo of Schenker was great!! He's still the man!!!

I'm guessing the sound imbalance is due to the location of the video camera.

Great if you're a guitar player, but I couldn't hear the vocals well.

Gary talked a lot of the lines and "gave the mic to the crowd" on other lines.

Definitely not his best work.

Michael played well, but his middle solo was poor...very!

I think he was a better player in the 70s/80s. He's lost the fire in his playing. There was a spark during the UFO reunion, but that faded quickly.
