I've seen a lot of depressing movies. The Green Mile stands out as being right near the top. But this movie hit me like no other movie has. Maybe it's the fact that I also train martial arts/boxing and can put myself in those shoes, maybe it's the fact that it feels so real, maybe it's the performances. It's none of those things, it's all of them. It's not sad the whole time, It builds you up before it tears you down. It just really hits home for me for some reason. Powerful film. That's my rant

@mario6279 Kidding, right? I admit this film is amazing but...better than the fighter? That's impossible. The fighter has more heart. The story of a fighter oppressed by his family, that want to control him and his life. His brother, which he admires as a hero, is a drug addict and he doesn't care of his brother nor his son. The mother thinks she can make Micky's life perfect.

Try to put more heart in that!

@gleguav i already saw the film wanst that great man idk what to tell you this movie is sad and the way i ment by heart in this film is that she never gave up when he kep telling her to leave and she was in her 30's and he gave her a shot at the title withing the year and her family didnt give a shit about her except for him. i already knew about micky ward and his life and personaly the film didnt get my attention the fighting scenes were to fake and just didnt show much heart for me no offense

I am almost 50 and I have seen ALL of the great movies.....the Godfather films, Ben-Hur, The Shawshank Redemption, etc. THIS is the best film made from the past 15 years.....period. When I originally watched this film I thought I was going to be watching a sport-based movie....boy was I wrong. This movie has almost nothing to do with boxing....it's about so much more in life. Boxing only happens to be a back-drop to what's really going on. Eastwood's directing ability is fabulous....

What can i say, it was EPIC, sad, a film about true spirit for what you love to do. It's a masterpiece in my eyes no matter what people say.

The actors are great, the story is great.

I think this movie was the only comedy to ever win best picture. It deserved it though, i don't know a single person who didn't laugh when Eastwood "pulled the plug" LOL, funniest scene of the movie. I gotta watch this movie again sometime. What i like about this trailer is that they didn't give away all of the funny parts like the trailers for most comedies.
