@krakhead546 Depends which part of the world you're in.
I saw this at the BFI London film festival and thought it was really good and mooving. According to the festival guide it doesn't have a distributor yet.
how will China handle the huge wave of retiring baby boomers in the coming decade. two children having to care for 4 aging parents. too much pressure.
Asians don't throw away their family in nursing homes like white americans. Even though his "nanny" decides to move to a nursing home, he still comes to see her with respect and care. Don't get me wrong...I'm sure a lot of people don't see an asian person put at a nursery home.
Watched this today in Vancouver, makes me missed HK so much...Ann Hui handles such a serious subject with humor and that's really surprising and dare I say, enjoyable.....also saw her in real life:)
I think her attention to details is amazing, and each scene sticks with you.....very close to tears during the scene with "AngelaAuntie".....if you know who I mean....
@hamann16 Oh I really am wanting to see this very badly! How long would you say the film is (out of curiosity) and was Tsui Hark's role a cameo or did he have a decent amount of on-screen time? Thanks for watching and it's okay to cry/be touched by films, that's when you know it's a special one!!! -Josh-
the film seems to be a good one. the music is good also. But if the subtitle can be improved a little bit, that could be better. sometimes i cant understand what it is trying to say by only looking at the subtitles....
Saw this at TIFF yesterday. Amazing film and my favorite of the 12 I saw throughout TIFF. Congrats to Deanie Ip for winning the best actress award at Venice - very well deserved.
I so want to see this movie. I was able to visit Hong Kong and participate in Andy Lau's Mid-Autumn Banquet. It was so beautiful when Andy invited the fans to the stage to present flowers to Deanie, such a show of love.
He is an amazing actor and singer, so versatile. He is truly a good person as well.
@bobbypaycheque i am an asian , but is you talk about world wide andy lau is still very far behind compared to actor like chow yuen fatt, donnie yen , and jet li. But andy lau is like Shah rukh khan of india not world wide, known in only their own country. But in my opinion if you say the most famous actor in the world right now is people like Donnie yen, Tonny jaa, and jason stantham .
is this movie coming out in dvd?

Congrats Deanie!

Deanie姐, 無論封唔封后你根本就是ichiban! 相信這電影能喚醒過去三十多年港人對你的忽視, 也相信未來二十年也找不到像你一樣唱歌那麼有風格, 做戲那麼有性格的人!
