  • Ohne Worte. . . . Live gesehen in Ansbach.

  • What an extraordinarily beautiful song. Thank you so much for having posted this.

  • Does anybdy know the name of the song in between Tall Ships, and The Falmouth Package??

  • @joeclapham1

It's a traditional folk song called 'Adieu Sweet Lovely Nancy'

  • I'm desperately trying to find a copy of Tall Ships on cd. Anyone help me out with this?

  • @infestusinfestis It's on Roots - the compilation CD :)

  • I first saw SoH years ago at a local pub and thought they were awesome - I am just so chuffed they have made it so big now. love 'em!!!!

  • As a wise yank, I fall to my knees to honor my british brothers in the United Kingdom. Beautiful work.

  • i second that, what we're witnessing is the much sought after but rarely seen combination of artistry and integrity. makes me wanna go down the local pu-...oh yeah...SIGH!...)

well, we yanks have the Cox Family...

  • Phil doesn't just fiddle and sing, he plays just about every other instrument known to man too - perfectly! Altnough admittedly I have never seen him drum.

  • Absolutely mutts fucking nuts.

  • Show of hands are the dogs do da's

    There great!!!!

  • Flawless performance. Who is the female vocalist? And is it just me, or does Steve sound like the less vitriolic brother of the New Model Army vocalist?

  • Miranda Sykes is on the Double Bass. She's supporting the current tour.

Saw them for the 1st time last week and was v impressed. Excellent show.

  • Miranda Sykes. She's awesome, you should check out her solo stuff. Beautiful voice.

  • Love Show of Hands. Seen them countless times. A love that they're political as well as writing such barn-storming tunes. Fabulous :)

  • Excellent as ever this almost made me want to listen to folk music. Aagh

  • phil is such an amazing fiddler. show of hands are incredible, i saw them at WOMAD 2008.

somehow steve is really quite attractive.

  • So impressed by Phil Beer's ability to sing and fiddle at the same time; so many performers don't seem to be able to manage it!

    SOH - top class. x

  • Gee, I grew up in the sixties, when half of Newfoundland moved to Ontario. A lot of fiddlers showed up at my parents' house parties, and a goodly number of them could manage it. I think it has more to do with the fact that many fiddlers nowadays have been trained classically, and have a different technique, one that perhaps doesn't allow for doing both at once.

  • i love english folk.

  • Saw them at Langollen finge a couple of weeks ago, stunning. Loved the Arizona Smoke Review with PB, I saw when I was 16 in the early 80's, and when they formed Alianza was midn-blowing in '93. I sitll have the casette album. Brilliant too, and speaking of which, a cd (re-)release please. Soon ?!

  • im going to see them on friday for the first time. cant wait. i saw ASR in Scotland in the 80s and have a cd. and i saw Bully Wee and think Ian Cutler was with them in the late 70s. makes me old ?

  • Brilliantly fantastic music, love it!!

  • Just so fabulous - have seen them live a few times and nothing beats this!

  • English till I die

  • England forever!

  • Great performance.. we never see them in Holland nowadays.. pity

  • just shows you what they're capable of - amazing stuff.

  • Man I love this video. I want a mandocello!!!!

  • Can't quite catch what he says - Who is on double bass?

  • Miranda Sykes (not sure if I spelt that correctly) - she's also got a fantastic singing voice

  • Yes some bands/artists just sound better live. SOH are definitely a live band. So is Jackie Leven, and Richard Thompson. Excellent thanks.

  • Adieu Sweet Lovely Nancy from the Country Life album

  • Whats the second song??

  • Its called The Falmouth Packet

  • It's Tall Ships by Steve Knightley, then A traditional song called Adieu, sweet lovely nancy. THEN it's a tune called Falmouth Packet by Phil Beer.

  • One of the songs in it is Haul Away Joe if your looking for specific songs in the medley

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for posting this - good to see the songs again.

  • Listen to that....this is the VERY best sound they can create. Somehow the album versions of their songs seems to lose that live magic.

Thannkyou so much for posting this

  • Thank you so much for adding this, it's wonderful every time.
