If I had my way, I would put cheat modes for torpedo ammo, speed, fuel(in case of the speed cheat drains fuel) and hunt that fleet down to the last ship.
In my current patrol, after sinking a whole 13 ship convoy (including destroyers) I encountered another task force, to my amusement, 3 Carriers and 2 (yes, TWO) Yamatos. Wonders will never cease.
That is how you would say it, so as to guarantee that you don't mistake "ten" for "two" in the heat of battle, etc. That's why three is actually pronounced "tree" four is "fo-wer" five is "fife" seven is "Seh-ven" (emphasis on the two syllables) and nine is "niner". That is why you hear "Depth one five zero" etc.
Great looking sink...But me I think I would have fired 2 into all 3 carriers and saved the aft 4 tubes for the Yamato and hoped that my aim was good enough to hit it...or at least take out its propulsion so the rest of the fleet would have to move on without her...Then I would reload and sink it without worry from escorts, maybe even surfacing if she listed, to use my deck gun.
no, targeting a BB with a deck gun is pointless total, if its dead in the water a torp in between the #1 and #2 turrets, wait long enough and the ship will go down due to damage or a magazine going up
Of course in game they havent worked out the physics completely...but in real life if I am a good aim with a 3-5" gun I bet I can get a round inside the widow of the ships bridge...think like in the movie U-571. I understand its useless using a deck gun on a BB but if you dont have anything left for torpedoes...take what you can get.
if i was in that situation with no torps and only a deck gun i would let the ship be as disabled for maybe 2-6 months in real life, but disabled is good enough for me, sure, you can do severe damge to the bridge or small gun mounts but that wont sink it, if your lucky you'll get something but i only go after destroyers, gun boats, or merchies with the deck gun, nothing larger than a destroyer
Yeah I took a look again at the vid and likely would have fired still 2 each forward torps at the carriers, then turn my stern to the taskforce to use the stingers on the anti sub ships and then dive deep...reload, and then periscope depth to take out the battleship and whatever else I could sink.
i woulda put 6 torps into the yamato, went deep, relaoded, came back up, put 3 into each carrier, went deep again and come up and get as many escorts as possible
Well I guess it does make much more since when you think of it the way the AI works, they can't really seem to think to launch planes when attacked...I would think they would immediatly launch planes either to drop charges or just to spot the sub near the surface ya know.
Great thing about our US Ordinance Dep't are the lies they never admit too. Like Goat Island and our terrible years of torpedos both plane and submarine.
I wish there were a game where we could take those Jap subs out.
Luv these games. Had great run in Uboat game firing even aft tubes in convoy but didn't see QE till she ran me over lol.
I agree. There was the potential for some really unique Sub-Types to play as in this game, like Midget Submarines or Carrier Submarines...Maybe even manned torpedoes?
I personally love the music. Master and Commander was actually a great movie.
All that aside, very nice video. What the hell was up with the Yamato though? You freakin' pummeled his arse, but he just wouldn't go down! Still, you got him with the back tubes. At least, I think that was the Yamato again. Anyway, great attack and great vid!
The real BB Yamato was sunk off Bungo canal the 6th of june 1945 with 10 torpedoes and 5 bombs. The other Yamato class BB Musashi was sunk off Sibuyan sea (Philippines) during the naval battle of Leyte in october 1944. BB Musashi took a terrific pounding with the final score of 19 torpedoes and 17 bombs. This was the end of the biggest battleships ever built (64.000 tons of displacement each)
TORPEDO IMPACT!!!

Btw, USS Drum (SS-228)

It takes so many torpedoes because it is an armoured battleship and it has to start flooding before it can sink.

what year is it to do that

Hi,
It was hard to tell but I was curious did you use contact or magnetic torps, also at what depth did you set the torps?

nic8354 2 years ago 2

Judging why you dont have the TDC open your playing with auto aim on... Try doing a manual shot

lol, a deck gun, 3-5in on a battleship with armor thicj enough to resist 18in shells, lol

Shoot at the bridge...upper deck targets my friend. It would be pointless of course to try shooting the hull.

arrgh those turrets of the battleship should have fallen off the moment it turned upside down, and where are the tweaks, slower sinking please.
