  • That could MAYBE be Dave "Baby" Cortez on the organ rather than BIlly Preston. Cortez had a couple hit instrument songs called THE HAPPY ORGAN in 1959, and RINKY-DINK in 1962 that use an organ sound that's very similar to this clip.

  • all the guys look like slenderman because you caan't see their faces

  • NOT LURCH? This is priceless...

  • the video freezes at 4:20 right when the performance is about to start

  • I sing about Karloff and other stars in The Celebrity Song.

  • 1.Had to watch twice before I realized Billy Preston was playing "If I Had A Hammer." 2.Stridex never stopped my pimples ; it dried my skin. 3. You can tell Boris Karloff really dug being on this show--what a gent! 4. Hard to believe those young, limber dancing girls are now grandmothers in their '60s.

  • dig out you bums!

  • is that bobby sherman

  • @4battis YEP

  • I was born during this time 10-65 what great music they had back then. Nothing like what they call music now days.

  • Billy Preston on organ

  • Those Gaucho dudes are a blatent ripoff of Paul Revere and the Raiders!

  • boris and the creepss, great pop group....i think there playing in concert, any one know when....or when hes next film is out,id like to see it,someone told me it will be called frankinstein, with james whale directing it.

  • BORIS KARLOFF THE MASTER

  • There apparently is also the 1st performance of the lurch was on this show but i think the clip was lost just like the monster mash.

  • did anyone really see the dirt?

    kidding

  • Now this is a find. Lurch was somehow one of my favorite characters from "The Addams Family"...I believe one episode is where he becomes a pop star by accident...

  • Never heard of Jim Dovale and the Gauchos......

  • their album was recorded in FRESNO, CALIFORNIA and they were on Shindig and other shows...Bill Drake KYNO AM WAS BIG ON HIM AND HIS BAND

  • This was originally telecast on Saturday, October 30, 1965 {7:30-8pm(et)}...

  • Damn, I wish they had the monster mash segment, hey--good old Stridex!

  • no wonder I tuned out as a teenager. Sp much good music was happening and they tried cramming this pap down our throats. Burrp!

  • Nah, Bobby Sherman was the one of the "house singers" (that's him on the bike here) and whenever they couldn't get the original artist to appear they'd have him do the song. He was cute and had talent, certainly, but even he admitted he was in over his head at times.

  • They wouldnt let him sing his own records because he didnt get a hit yet.

  • very kool

  • I never thought I would SEe this again. I remember it so welll when it first aired. I LOVE BORIS KARLOFF!

  • Fantastic! Thanks so much for posting this! Great stuff!
