haha great job especially for just waking up dude!!

great rhythm and the transitioning and everything sounds clean

love it keep up the great work!

  • Im safic, but you are hot. Great playing..

  • cool way of playing it without having to tune to DADGAD :D

  • Very nice! =D are you in standard?

  • thanks! My Low E is Tuned down one step to a D.

  • you should put a how to video up for this. very nice job.

  • killer.

  • great techniques! I am also trying to learn to slap my acoustic guitar - requires lots of practice!

  • it came out so wonderful, I truly do love the sound.

  • Right on.

  • MICHEAL HEDGES

  • YO ever seen august rush?? Man I love slap harmonics... keep it real

  • no offense dude but the kid was grossly overrated in the movie...he wasn't that good

  • it was actually kaki king, who did the guitar music for the movie. She is really amazing

  • can you teach me how to wake up and do that??? :0

    ur adorable btw.

  • lol sure :D

  • OMG This is awesome, I was watching this and could not relate yor fingers to the strings as you were so damn good, nice playing, can you do a video explaining the technique?

    Very well done

  • DAMN, WTF. U PWNZ M8!!!

  • You are amazing! End of story! I just subscribed! That was AWESOME!

  • dude can you teach me

  • FUCK DUDE YOU GOT TALENT PLEASE TELL ME YOUR TRYING TO MAKE A CARREER IN MUSIC IF NOT CAN I TAKE YOUR TALENT OFF YOU LOL :p:p

    NICE WORK MAN ITS AWESOME

  • Standard tuning yup.

  • what kind of tuning r u using on ur guitar?

  • hey thanks for watchin ! I'm using standard tuning with the low E dropped to a D.

  • i wish i could wake up and do that

  • how do you make it so loud?

if I try stuff like this I barely hear it :/

  • dude is ur guitar plugged in to an amp?

btw what brand are those strings ?

  • nah man, I actually took out the electronic pickup on the top, so there is a hole there, which may be making it louder. As for the strings, i dont really know man i made this vid like a year ago. They are probably elixers or martins. Medium gage

  • nice one dude !

  • you call that messing around?? hhaha:) I took lessons for a little but unfortunately he was more interested in talking w me than instructing so I stopped. I wish more of my friends played though because I really feel that being around others who play helps you to learn. nyway, I've watched Stanley Jordan before..he's great! Thank you for the suggestions;)

  • oh forgot .... it awesome man best ive heard to date

  • first slapping/ tapping vid ive seen ... im a guitar n00b, never knew a acoustic guitar could sound like tht too

i recently got my self an acoustic el cheapo tht is ... guess u need a real good and expensive guitar to do this sorta thing. Wht guitar are u using?

  • thanks man, this guitar was $199 new, and it is an alvarez RD8. I've actually had it for like 5 years and it was good when I got it, but now it sucks. You don't need an expensive guitar, just good strings to bring out the life of it.

  • thank you for the advice:) are you self taught or did you take lessons?

Love kaki king but haven't heard much keller williams..I'll have to check him out. I'm more of a nick drake, bob dylan, joni mitchell fan but I like this techniqueso I will watch some of these others play. Thanks;)

  • Hey, i've unfortunately never taken a lesson. Just messed around for about 6-7 years now. I also suggest watching stanley jordan as well, thanks for watching :D

  • That is freakin awesome

  • I just keep watching this...nice improv. I have been trying to learn both techniques for a bit now. Did it take quite a while to learn? If you have any pointers or good videos for acoustic let me know! Thanks;)

ps. like your other videos too..what's your voice like..you should play something you sing w.

  • Thanks :D I would just say to watch as many videos as you can of people playing this way, such as michael hedges, keller williams, kaki king, even victor wooten on bass. Know scales and hammer ons and pulloffs like the back of your hand. It may take a while but with time comes experience :) I wish i had a video camera now so I could poost some more videos, hopefully soon enough!

  • 5 stars man, v nice

  • nice hair

  • is that ur original

    cuz it fricken awsome

  • well the tapping part is original by me, the slapping part is kinda based on a song i like called Blazabago by Keller Williams. and pretty much everything was just just on the fly :D

  • dude thats awsome

    how do u learn that

  • cool technic i give you 5 stars

  • thats impressive. now i must learn...

  • just awesome man;)

  • wow you rock how u do that

  • what tuning are you in?

  • Sounds like drop D

  • Sounds like Drop D

  • he is in standard tunning

  • I can certainly hear the Keller in there.

    Fantastic job.

  • Thanks! I'm glad you can hear the keller in there. he's my hero

  • "It takes a really long time to look like you just woke up."

  • what?

  • your hair. it must take a while to get that 'straight out of bed' look

  • I like the separation and clarity of each tap. This is sick!

  • wow thats really awesome

haha kudos on the miller lite pants too

  • you look like a hot mess and you play kickass acoustic guitar.

so not only did i enjoy listening to this, i enjoyed looking too :D YAY

  • Sick as fuck.

  • Dang it man! Where did you first start your lessons? I can't find anything on good slapping lessons.

  • Awesome. I've rated. :D

  • that's incredible volume I can never tap that loud!!

Can someone post a link or something on how to Slap / pop crazy strum on acoustic guitar?? I've searched around and haven't found anything. Like Wooten does.

    maxblaster (a) gmail dot com

    thanks

  • you can search on here for "victor wooten slap lesson" and you can watch his lessons on here :D

I think partially the reason it is so loud, is that those were brand new strings at time.

  • that's right, Wooten is the best inspiration for slapping. I slap my bass lines on guitar too, you're welcome to come by and listen ;)

  • could use some work, but yeah, sounds good.

  • thanks I guess

  • hey man not bad, if you'd anchor your thumb behind the neck as you tap it'd make a huge difference.

  • thanks, what do you mean anchor my thumb?

  • take your thumb and place it behind the neck of the guitar as you play and put pressure on it, just like you do for your left hand as your chord. you place it on the underside of the neck and press. i hope thats understandable.
