Farming factoids:

Tilled land vanishes if jumped on and from drought if it bears no seeds.

Wheat requires 9 or greater light and 2 cells of space above it to grow.

Wheat grows on any tilled land, but grows faster on wet tilled land.

Water wets tilled land 4 cells out, including diagonals, from the source on the x and z axes, and up to 1 cell below on the y axis.

Wheat in a line with wet tilled land on both sides of the line grows fastest.

You can grow wheat indoors and underground using torches.

Naka, you don't need to wait for farmland blocks to hydrate before you can plant on them. As long as a block is tilled, you can plant things!

I like this. Usually what I do is make a SLIGHTLY bigger farm considering bread doesn't give back all that much hunger. I do that until I find a good supply of both mushrooms, then I just make a giant mushroom farm with bonemeal and never have to worry about food ever again,

Oh c'mon, you build a Wooden Pickaxe, which you already have, dig like 5 Blocks deep and get 3 Stone to make a Stone Pickaxe, then you gather more Stone. You can build a then a Stone Axe and gather some Wood. I don't see your problem ô.o

Nice house, on my main world I'm currently building a fort that has access to a port via an underground passage. Then just for fun I got lava to flow over the edge of the fort to create a choke point on the mountain top that the fort is attached to.

Hey Naka, you actually don't have to wait for the plants to get hydrated at 4;30. You can plant them anyway and it will eventually hydrate enough for it to grow.
