I'm fairly new to Dressage and want to start showing first level soon...Do you typically have their necks that arced and high at a first level test? Would the judges look down upon a horse w/ it's neck a little lower and less curved? I'm open to any help.
judges shouldn't mark you down for not having such a high head set, this is a saddlebred and a stallion at that, which means his headset is going to naturally be much higher. Judge don't "Love" the arched neck, judges love to see a horse through, using his back and on the bit, meaning he is reaching for and accepting contact, not that his head is behind vertical, this is bad, it means the horse is evading. Judges would rather see a horse in front of vertical, reaching for the bit, not behind
wow! You kept your horse really round and collected for the whole time. Your Free walk was awesome! Too bad the video was cut off. By the way what was your test score on that??

Are you sure you aren't mistaking him for another horse? His current owner has had him since he was purchased as an unbroke 3 year old.

Also keep in mind being a saddlebred their whole head set is high up than other breeds, this could be more natural for this horse.

Yes, it was a very nice test! Well done. You are a very quiet rider and you sit well. How tall is he?
