truthfully all the japanese do is apply A.I predominantly to mechanical machines.Other countries also do some very sophisticated stuff with A.I as well but not necesarily in the same way. Video games are an example. When you take simple programming classes that's the basics of A.I right there.Actually it all goes back to algebra.
A robot that can do a quadrillion calculations a second combined with ingenuity. Will beget a robot that can do a quintillion calculations. Then a sextillion...septillion and on and on. Humans won't even be able to grasp what they are doing, fighting them will be futile.
Combining creativeness with the ability to do mass calculations on an unimaginable scale along with facial recognition and other feature like being about to detect chemical signatures and full spectrum sight and hearing ability
I hope they remove this feature before shipping or else I stick with the competition which doesnt kill me. Then again it would be a hilarious present in the office.
@vinceraptor true because JAPAN is about to go through economic collapse. Japan doesnt have enough to sustain itself with a workforce that isn't keeping up with market demand, they don't want immigration because their island cant support an enough people. The A.I will be used in the workforce to produce a tremendous amount of ouput with very little input. im sure entrepeneures from around the world will switch from outsourcing jobs to investing in robotics and software.
The scientist in Japan should thank their government for losing WWII. Now they have money to put in robots, ect, instead of trying to keep a large military like the United States. Japan + USA = excellent alliance.
people just don't understand, that it's the programmer the one with intelligence, and he, the programmer, was the one that made the program. This is all that is happening here. You can fool others, but you can't fool me. haha. Nice looking robot though.
Correction, this robot CAN'T THINK AND LEARN, AND ACT BY ITSELF. You can sell that to someone else, but not to me. Take the robot out, and all you got is a computer algorhythm, that's it. take out the programmer, and the machine is useless. Why, because it's not alive and it can't feel.
My thought is.. What if you tell (once these robots are human size and can move) to kill someone, and they use the Internet and learn how to do it, and proceed with that action, would he go to jail? Because it was his decision, it's not like the human would for telling an object to do it. Hahaha.

why would you do this...diddent you learn 1 thing form Irobot and the terminator movies don't let a robot think by it self or els we will have the real life version of skynet in no time
Imagine this learning process for complex problem solving - it would reach the human limits of applied knowledge, and then surely move past it. Understand things we miss, evolve, refine... The potential of this is HUGE, assuming it improves to that kind of level.

I've seen people make these kinds of promises before and every time they have lied and cheated.
For example not using real AI.
There will certainly be ppl that will be a-holes and exploit/break the system,
for instance teach the robot that making tea means to throw things at you, like knives and hot water.
So what i want to know, if they aren't lying, how they have solved this problem.
Like unlearn the bad things and identifying bad teachings from other robots and prevent them.

RickonDraw 6 months ago
@RickonDraw AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. Meaning it can think and act on its own without being told to.
Scripted behavior is not intelligent. The script just tells the computer what to do.
It's just a cheap and easy way of emulate behavior.
Games have been doing "AI" like this for years and years and have called it AI, which is totally incorrect and they know it.
A good scripted behavior can behave human like but its not AI. Not even close !
It's just following instructions.

This sounds a lot like the Geth in Mass Effect. In that case it's ok as long as we don't freak about the robots gaining conciousness. -
- Oh fuck you guys are already freaking out

Someone's gonna be really confused when they tell that robot to grab some M&M's and it brings back a water bottle.

@RightWingGamer
The geth weren't evil. Though I suppose the hereitcs were...
Either way, if you treat AI with respect, nowt will go wrong :)

@RightWingGamer Oh no. Once the networking with other robots' knowledge popped up, I immediately thought that.

Very impressive.
Imagine this learning process for complex problem solving - it would reach the human limits of applied knowledge, and then surely move past it. Understand things we miss, evolve, refine... The potential of this is HUGE, assuming it improves to that kind of level.
