We know from news that president Bashar al-Assad of Syria is battling and killing thousands of people involved in the Arab Spring revolution. Given the facts that Egypt and Libya have now fallen to revolutions and Syria is in the location of ancient Mesopotamia (aka Cushites) and Syria too is going through a revolution, I believe this confirms the exact countries mentioned in Daniel 11:43 in addition to the "revolutions" that Jesus said in Luke 21:9 found in the NIV 1984 version.

The Bible knowledge commentary for Genesis 2:13 states, "The second river, Gihon, was in Cush, probably not Ethiopia but possibly the land of the Cassites (kaššu in Akk.) in the mountains east of Mesopotamia". I then brought up a map of ancient Mesopotamia on Google images and found that ancient Mesopotamia covers the countries of modern Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. IMPRESSIVE!!!

I looked up Daniel 11:43 in "The Bible Knowledge Commentary" and it states, "These nations, referred to elsewhere as Put and Cush, may be nations in Africa. However, it is more likely that Put refers to Arab nations in the Sinai area and Cush to nations in the Persian Gulf region (cf. Gen. 2:13 and comments there)". I decided to look up the commentary on Genesis 2:13 in order to investigate the "Cush" location because as you can see the commentary on Daniel 11:43 was pointing me there.

I wanted to share with you a word study I did on the “Kuwshiy” country mentioned in Daniel 11:43. There are 3 Bible translations I looked up. The NKJV states ". . . Ethiopians shall follow at his heels" & the NIV 1984 states ". . . Nubians in submission" & the ESV states, ". . . Cushites shall follow in his train". All 3 translations have 3 different names for 1 location. An interlinear reveals that Hebrew word used is “כֻשִׁים” transliterated as "Kuwshiy" accurately translated as "Cush".
