hi there just wanting to know when using the xlr input can you only use the vocal fx you mentioned or can you still use all the stomp box, amp/cab etc.
@dare4distance69 Okay, because I'm trying to decide between getting a half stack or this. I'm looking at a Bugera 1990 with the matching 4x12. I saw this and was wondering if I should go for it. I REALLY want the stack, though, because I freaking LOVE to play really loud. Lol
I JUST HAD ONE QUESTION I'M BARELY STARTING TO GET INTO PEDAL BOARDS I'VE ALWAYS PLAYED WITH MY SMALL DIGITECH PEDAL BOARD BUT THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME I WAS PLANNING ON BUYING THE LINE 6 POD HD EITHER THE 400 OR 500 BUT I'M ALSO VERY INTERESTED IN THIS ONE WHICH ONE YOU THINK IS BETTER WHICH IS A BETTER OPTION?
Analog stomp boxes are best for live amp/stack stage playing, but this is good for studio playing where the band is all strapped up with headphones to hear eachother digitally..with or without the drummer. Doesn't do jack shit for good high gain amp half stacks, except mess up the tone. If you play on some cheap combo amp it's worse.
...jump in gain when switching patches... hmmm suppose line 6 could address that? Sounds like a easy firmware fix for a functional issue. Yes I could turn down the effect but that defeats the "live" aspect I would say.
@guitarsbunch347 not really the gt-10 has a way better tone than this.well their is no such thing as a perfected sound its all from the person who plays it.and each persons taste is different.
question, I have an old Randall the famous rg100es. Could I use the Line out from the head into the x3 Live without a cabinet. I sold my 4x12 cabinet and I been wanting to use the line of this amp, I really like sound from it. I haven't used the line Out, If something did happend I have the wiring schematic paper for this Randall.
I noticed x3 live has many diferent Cabinets plus amps to choose from. This was another eason why I asked,
boss gt 10 or pod x3 live...im looking for distortion, delay, but more analog soundin'. Studio and live giging principaly. Anyone can help me, pls!!! (i play metal and blues)
@clayandty if boss me70 is anything like the me50 do not buy it lol, I borrowed my friends and a lot of the effects have significant volume differences when using the effects...
WTF Im not gonna play Im just gonna show you a box with some nobs on. This review is sooooooooooooo pointless he made as long as a normal review but didnt show us what it sounded like!
The biggest joke are is on the buyer who believes this hype. POD x3 is 2001 vetta technology rehashed and remarketed. There isnt anything innovative about it, the dual amp tones were on the vetta only instead of 78 amps it has 90 so this latest POD still isnt the full blown out pedal version of the vetta, Line 6 is waiting for the x4 to do that. The overall tone is outdated and isnt that much better then the XT. The notes still lack dynamics and sound flat
mannn....plz answer me.....which one would be better to have.....this Line 6 POD X3 or Digitech RP1000.....and i need it for black-death metal stuff....which one ???!!!
Music isn't about Effects. For better tone , Line 6 Pod X3 Live is the best option. I don't like GT series. They sound thin and fake. X3 Live has too much options. If X3 Live had a tube like Vox tonelab or Zoom g7-g9 , it would be the king of the processors. But Zoom and Vox are cool multifx units too. However I would go with X3 Live this weekend. I hope Line 6 won't push a new product better than X3 Live soon.
@intaomri the boss sounds like shit. somebody have heard about the digitech RP-21D? (an old processor launched about 1999). i own one of these, and, excepting for the interactivity with the variax, posses the same functions showed in this video, but it have a tube!. you can run your signal trough a dual preamp with analog distortions and the posibility of configurate the position of the effects. its the mother of this pedal. sounds great if you tweak the eq (cut mids and bosst in 2.5khz)
I looked into that recently myself, and the Line 6 Pods are getting much more consistent positive feedback than the GT10. I also looked at forums of people comparing the two and 9/10 people chose the Pod over the GT10. Hope that helps. :)
@mrevolutions23 the digitech. read my lines that i've written before to intaomri. i think that with the RP-21, Digitech create the most visionary multieffects with a warmmer sound, that today, ten years after, it's being copyed for flexibility.and the actual series offers a better sound than these or the Boss, wich sounds like a cheap plastic chinese synth. the guy from boss are only good just for one thing: merchandising
depends... i play lots of small clubs or just loose acoustic shows, and i use the x3. no amp, no setup horror. plug and play - it's perfect for me. if i had the time (and a car^^) to lug around my head and cab everytime i leave our rehearsalroom, i'd go for stomboxes. or the m13.
hey man, i use all anolog equipement but still cant find a kick ass distortion and other fx. is this X3 LIVE really worth it? i play with a gibson sg '61 reissue and a tube marshall, and all anolog pedals. i play music in the 1965-1975 era. is the X3 LIVE worth its price fo me? i live in canada and this pedal is 700$!!!!!!! help please. i know it sounds crazy but all of my anolog pedals are just not cutting it for me.
i would say yes. you get amps that emulate amps from that time, also cabs that emulate cabs from that time, you have alot stompboxes to choose from, so im quite sure you can get the tone you want with the x3. if you use that tube amp as final cab, i think you get a REALY nice tone. i play through a marshall valvestate, and i realy like it.
yes, it is. if you've been playing for some time, the modeling touch will feel a little unfamiliar to you in the beginning. playing live it IS the holy grail. horrible sound techs, undersized stages, blown fuses/tubes are no longer a problem. if you'll only be using the stompbox sction of the X3, i'd go for the M13 if i were you. don't pay for something you'll only switch off later - amp modeling in this case. but IF you're open to try the modeling section, then go get an x3!
You can't do that man, the pod need get into a power amp although you can try in P.A. system like those used in a pub or live situation they have all you need. Otherwise get a power amp, or guitar amplifier trhought de guitar and PodX3. Sorry for my english i'm mexican ;)
I don't have this unit, but I think I read on their website that it's a free download, or that they include a cd key in the box for you to download it free.
I'm not suggesting the x3 wins tonally by a long shot but I am saying its better but not by much!!!
A Musically untrained ear I dont believe if all presets were same on each unit would be able to tell the difference, but may I add the X3 live's wahs suck really bad I've tried them. The looper is very cool in the GT-10, I still love the GT-10 and believe me it still knows how to rock- just as much as the x3 live
one last thing the GT-10's tones are alot!!!more tweakable then the x3 live's
I bought both the gt-10 and x3 and returned my x3. The tone, quality and reliability of the gt-10 is amazing! gt-10 is made out of METAL not plastic like the x3 and BOSS always has better tones! The gt-10 never freezes.
kick ass i finally have a good reason to replace my korg ax 30g
i could do the guitar and vocals for my band and bass and vocals for the side project :-) all i want to know is whats new for 2009 and if it has a metronome and tuner built in....
i gues mp3 looping thing for training is aking too much but man i'm stoked to get this
My POD X3 Live freezed in the middle of a play. It happens twice. The 1st one, i had to re-install the firmware. 2nd time, i had to re-calibrate the vol pedal. Imagine, suddenly no sounds in a middle of a GIG.
The features are awesome. But again, because of what happened, i don't feel comfortable using it live in a sensitive gig. So far, it's been ok now, (happened only 3 times). My advice is to read some comments in theLine 6 website.
i dont have one, but what i could understand is that u can have twu tones at the same time, u can select between guitar bass and vocals, and you can use the two tones at the same time for the guitar...
wait so me and my rhythm guitarist could both plug into this and have seperate tones? is there a way to have the same tone, and then it will switch just me when i play a solo?
pod x3 basically has all the amp modelling etc, whereas the live part of the pedal is all of the stompboxes and and pedals in the bottom half of the pedalboard
*Selling Line 6 Pod X3 Live* on Ebay! Only 300 bucks. It was originally 500! That means your saving 200! It's mint condition. Seller is called "Maggi59". Please check it out today. thnks :D
most definitely! the zoom gt9.2 tt is much better than the xpod because its software bundle and patch generator are the best bundle software the likes of which people haven't seen uptill now. however a gt10 is better because the zoom is good for distortion but the other effects are much better in gt-10. the gt-10 harmonizer is just out of this world. so if u r looking for distorion than go with zoom combined with boss rc-20 xl looper it would cost same as gt-10
Depends on your level of tone recognition. If you're not that bothered about your tone, and being dazzled by a harmonizer is your style, then the GT-10 has a chance. Otherwise not.
hell yeah..! it has like 15 or more presets for acoustic guitars, they wont work for electric guitar because you must use a microphone to make them sound, but answering your question simply, yes it does, look at the original demo video of X3
hi there just wanting to know when using the xlr input can you only use the vocal fx you mentioned or can you still use all the stomp box, amp/cab etc.

no it does not have any looping capabilities, but if ur looking for a pedal board with looping capabilities go for the boss Gt10.
the only thing, is the Gt10 is not as powerful compared to the x3 live when playing in a live stage.
CP189 3 years ago
Why is X3 more powerfull on the stage than GT-10? What does he have, that boss hasn't? I'm buying new multiefect, so i'm asking...
voltaspeeder17 3 years ago
i dont have one, but what i could understand is that u can have twu tones at the same time, u can select between guitar bass and vocals, and you can use the two tones at the same time for the guitar...
pedroacp 2 years ago
i think x3 has bass and vocal effects and superior tone modeling. mostly a matter of opinion.

pilotoatomico 3 years ago

Jardweirdo 3 years ago

Inzalonus 2 years ago
wait so me and my rhythm guitarist could both plug into this and have seperate tones? is there a way to have the same tone, and then it will switch just me when i play a solo?

wats the diff between this and the regualr POD X3?
freestylix88 3 years ago
this one goes on the floor like a pedalboard. the normal x3 is a kidney bean like the original pod
mistersnaredrum 3 years ago
pod x3 basically has all the amp modelling etc, whereas the live part of the pedal is all of the stompboxes and and pedals in the bottom half of the pedalboard
mikethecoug 3 years ago
Check out the videos from extremevideopro on the X3 if you care to see something that is a bit more objective and useful...
banjoze 3 years ago
damn........i like this guy. he knows that we want to know about the pedal.
BeboAltizer 3 years ago
can i use its effects like a stomp box for my amplifier ?
marshalmathers 3 years ago
yep. you don't have to use the amp models. hell of a waste though...
mistersnaredrum 3 years ago
if your planning to do this get a cheaper version such as boss me-50, that focuses more on effects rather than the amp models.

is gt-10 is better than pod x3
christianfirst111 3 years ago
most definitely! the zoom gt9.2 tt is much better than the xpod because its software bundle and patch generator are the best bundle software the likes of which people haven't seen uptill now. however a gt10 is better because the zoom is good for distortion but the other effects are much better in gt-10. the gt-10 harmonizer is just out of this world. so if u r looking for distorion than go with zoom combined with boss rc-20 xl looper it would cost same as gt-10
smartsharpkiller 3 years ago
p.s a gt-10 is more sexy!
smartsharpkiller 3 years ago
Depends on your level of tone recognition. If you're not that bothered about your tone, and being dazzled by a harmonizer is your style, then the GT-10 has a chance. Otherwise not.

would a acoustic guitarist benefit from the pod?
777i2i 3 years ago
probably good use of chorus, reverb EQ n stff
oilersandguitars 3 years ago
hell yeah..! it has like 15 or more presets for acoustic guitars, they wont work for electric guitar because you must use a microphone to make them sound, but answering your question simply, yes it does, look at the original demo video of X3
AngelVzla 3 years ago
