i really like the other games, but i'm still undecided if i should go buy this one...

Ok, to get everything clear. In DMC 3 Dante is 20, in DMC1 is 30 (10 years pased since 3rd part), then comes Anime (since Trish and Lady are present and in forth episode they get to know each other) and after that it's DMC 4 (Dante's in his late 30s or somewhere between 35 and 40), and as last part comes DMC 2 where Dante is in his late 40s. It remains mistery why he became dark and quiet (actualy producers fault) but Capcom said they will explain it in following sequels.

Yeah 3 1 4 2. But I prefer to think of it as 3 1 4. Even If I decided to acknowledge 2 as canon, it still doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the main storyline that links 1, 3 and 4.

This is actually my favorite DMC game out of all of them. But I prefer Lucia to Dante though.

DMC 2, has two discs, Disc one is Dante, Disc two is Lucia, :)

Who deemed the game not a part of the series? Unless it's someone who worked on the game, then it IS part of the series, no matter how bad it may be. Also, it was an alright game. Granted, it's not as good as the others, it was still an enjoyable game and at least it had a story to it. In crono order, this is the last(so far). For all we know, Dante could have gone through some tough shit and changed. Yes, I find it weird he's not as cocky in this one, but he's growing up, I guess.

This isn't the only game to get bad rap, but still be pretty good. Look at MGS2. No one really liked it, but it's still a good game. They tried something out, people didn't like it, they changed it back. Just think of it as a beta, I guess.

when u buy the game, there are 2 discs in the case, if u got only 1, then you're tricked. disc 1 is Dante, disc 2 is Lucia, they are a part of a set, not to be sold separately.

you know if you press two of the shape butons while in the air (im not sure if you have to hold r1 or not) this fight can be won in two minutes...th think the butons are x and square but i might be wrong..mabey square and triangle
