Groban is a baritone.

They have different styles of singing. Groban was trained as an adult male to sing a primarily classical/opera repertoire. Aled was trained as a choirboy to sing spiritual and ecclesiastical repertoire. Their voices are different and both of them have exquisite technique and control.

Aled Jones has probably been the best treble in the last fifty years! Tremendous vitality and character in his singing. Single handed he was responsible for the upsurge in interest in cathedral choirs/boy singers in the UK since 1985. End of story!
