well they do always get you with the instructional DVD but believe me this DVD is well worth the very reasonable cost -there's 8 or 9 hours of it [haven't finished listening yet] and Doug is amazingly generous by giving away so much on the website , no copy right , feel free to print out so many transcriptions- can hardly begrudge modest outlay on DVD to get the stuff not included on website. His teaching notes included throughout have rocket fuelled my own playing. I love him.

I always wondered what 6 and 69 chords were. Like at 3:32, you're playing a series of F E, Eb, E and F 69 chords. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Great.. but what about us absolute beginners jazz people! How do we get with it? Just keep practising? I am classically trained, play by ear, but all my chords sequences are dull in comparison!

Its a long process of adding color tones to your chords.. To a tonic chord, try adding the 6, major 7th, 9th.. The V chords take all sorts of colors... flat 5 sharp 5, flat 9, sharp 9, sus 11, sharp 11... If you are serious, get a good jazz teacher.. Listen to all styles of piano jazz.. and practice practice practice!!

Could you please just play the melody thru to begin with? Going into free interpretation around Bar 3 and adding 1-2 bars of additional chords early on is asking a lot of those unfamiliar with the original.

Hi,

Instal " Band in a Box " on your computer, and you have the same result on your screen.

You can change Tempo, Key, Instrument, Left Hand, Right Hand, Rythme amo. I start to learn Piano 6 years ago from nothing, i was drummer. Now i play very goed. Next week, i upload new videos on my Hammond.

This way is the best to learn, it shows you the right Key and when you play and it sounds goed, your lucky
