im cryin here laughin...somone playin a fukkn orcish rogue wanna explain combat rogue without rupture...rupture on bosses is a must 4 er combat rogue...no question...elsewise hes right...but please...dont create orcish rogues...even if they got axe skill +...every firstday rogue will think uz a fagg xD

garrote ->s&d->mutilate (4or 5 cp) -> rupture -> mutilate+ eviscerate (refresh s&d) ->mutilate untill 4 or 5 envenom. Never overlap rupture debuff and besto of all never let Slice and Dice drop. so look at them if you have all up (s&d+rupture+ envenom) then use eviscerate. Next tip is to reforge seeking to cap hit rating use 2 daggers 1.80-1.40 (mh-oh) and refresh venom on weapons :)

You should use rupture on a boss fight or high health mob where the duration will expire before it dies, but evis is better in more common situations when blade fury is up.

@august120598 It's below average in a pve raid dps output situation. Its main advantage is Blade Fury which makes attacks hit 2 nearby targets with (glyphed) 15% less energy regeneration. Combat excels in fights with two melee enemies, and is slightly behind assassination in overall dps

@frozenflame5858 It doesn't he is forgetting that your not always able to stand up the ass of the boss like you can on a test dummy! Your rupture is doing damage over time and DOT on the boss is better than an instant non crit hit. When your running away from AOE's or being kicked back, feared, ect Your not able to EVIS shit but if you ended with a Rupture before hand you left the target with a DOT and he is bleeding while your not attacking.

My DPS on average for trash mobs is 12 - 16K, same with on the dummies, and my average DPS for bosses is only 11-13K, im a also a combat rogue, but i was playing pre cata when i did alot of my stuff and i just got back 4 weeks ago from a 6 month break, so i'd say im doing alright :D

Well srly ppl I pull 17k on a dummie no buff I'm a combat rogue since cata started and the buff dint even cam yet but I'm still the top dps of my raids pulling 23k and my item lvl is at 353 man hand slow wep and oh fast wep from za 1.30s I use wound pan on main hand cuz it procs way much more then instant cuz your not spec assassination and you keep using deadly on your off hand. Only need 8% hit and 26 expertise crit and mastery is buffs you don't need get hast for energy regen. My rotation is

Omg you make these new videos to hopefully fix the [numerous] mistakes you made in the previous Combat Rogue video. However you're still not using Rupture (which is better than your testing shows when you have the +30% bleed damage debuff), you're opening with Ambush (which is less damage per combo points and damage per energy than just starting with Sinister Strike) and you're using the Eviscerate glyph over the Adrenaline Rush one. Do you do any research at all?

Have you taken in to account the energy cost of Rupture and Eviscerate when you say that one should always use Evis? To my knowledge there are no changes to rupture and eviscerate, and at the moment rupture is a little bit better by the looks of it. The difference is small though

I tried out the mutilate spec and I only made 5k dps. My rotation seemed okay, I wasn't doing anything stupid, but from seeing your video with 18k dps, is that a case of my gear and enchants etc?

@Massy012 Gear could play a part in it. For Assassination, make sure you are keeping Rupture up 100% of the time (even if you have to use it with only 1 or 2 combo points). Make sure you are using instant and deadly poison. Also, never let Slice and Dice drop off. With the rest of your energy and combo points use mutilate and envenom.

@tgnWorldOfWarcraft you don't want to do 1-2pt ruptures you want 4+ rup/envenm.... priority for finishers is Snd>rupture>envenom. Keep your snd up at all times, maximize your rupture time as much as possible, use envenom to refresh SnD and pool about 90 energy if you can do so without snd falling off before you envenom. pooling the energy will allow a greater chance for poisons to proc on your mutilate swings. when the target hits 35% backstab, don't mutilate. And use 5cp ruptures and envenoms.

Cromarr, I highly doubt that rupture is not worth using for combat. ITs been a while since I've theorycrafted on rogues, but there's two things you should consider about rupture before telling people not to use it.

1. You mention that eviscerate does more damage even when not sundered. Did you account for the mangle bleed debuff?

2. Rupture costs less energy. This sounds diminuitive but adds up.

One other point I forgot. The Evis glyph was relatively weak in Wrath, as was SnD. Rupture glyph adds a significant amount of DPET. Evis glyph was so weak that most rogues traded it out for FoK, which would only benefit them on AoE fights
