You have to listen to him playing in front of you as I did a few years ago. He was kind enough to sign his autograph for my daughter who was 6 or 7 years old at that time. By the way, I am cuban and I have seen play Leo Brouwer, and Flores Chaviano. Flores Chaviano was a good friend of mine when I lived in Cuba. This guy is as good as Leo Brouwer, and Manuel plays as good as any of these other players.

yeah i would agree that this quite a difficult piece to play, as I am now in the the process of learning it. Also, be sure to check out his party, quite amusing, has the assad brothers, David Tenembaum, and another one im forgetting.

i've heard good things about Barrueco but from what little I heard just now I was not impressed. that little 'spanish caravan' type rif is not hard to play at all. i'll keep searching though

hahaha spanish caravan riff , can you play that song? if so upload it and we will compare your version to Manuels...and I will bet you anything you won't sound near as good..I mean the whole song...not the little 'spanish caravan riff' as you call it...and he has recorded almost all of the Classical guitar standard repertoire...I would do your research before badmouthing a master.

people on utube are too sensitive, your skin is to thin. if i wanted to bad mouth him after hearing a little about the guy and watching one video i would've made it clear. also, i'm not impressed because ppl on a video say i should be; i truly wasn't impressed w/what i heard, then stated i'd check out more vids on him (to be able2 form a real opinion)

Whose dreaming of success through a website? not me. I couldn't care less if you put up a video. You can have your opinion on Manuel...but at least back it up with something more substantial than its not that hard to play at all.

I hope you check out more videos of Manuel...as I'm sure you know , the quality on youtube hardly replaces a cd through high quality speakers or going to a concert.

that "little spanish caravan rift" is Issac Albeniz's Asturias from the Suite Espanola. It is a Classical/Spanish standard played by virtually all of the world's master guitarists. John Williams, Barrueco, Fisk just to name a few. There is no way anyone refering to this piece as a "caravan song" could accurately transcribe it. You are an ignorant, cancerous boil that is decaying our society as we speak. Do me a favor, send me your address so I can mail you a gun with one bullet.

Now this guy knows how to play guitar!!! That was wonderful!! Master is the adjective I would use to describe Mr. Barrueco!!! I think this is the same guy who made a car commercial for Ford and played the same piece, am I right? breamlute16
