Hey great playing Robert Longley!!, just interested in the guitar setup? and what you used for the recording? Cheers a heap, and keep up the playing its truly amazing.
Uhm.... I can't seem to hear anything other than a low fuzz....
I'm not taking the piss, either. My speakers and other videos are working fine, but the sound on this video won't work o_o Anyone else getting this problem?
I remember ten yeasr ago, Robert Longley told me he does it with a D-A-D-G-A-D tuning. Noy Im using it once in a while. Try it, and it becomes 50 percent easy.
Didn't anyone notice his guitar is a real Flamenco that has real "Old School" Friction Pegs? Someone Converted!!!!! Sooner or later the art takes you where it all began!!!!
dude that was awesome.i just started to learn guitar on my own but i will be sutisfied if i make it to have the half of your skills......maybe in a half century from today
NYswordsman ... he cud be wearing a dinosaur costume for all i care he put a video on here so we could listen to how he plays guitar not criticize his fashion sense ....and Rob that guitar was beautiful mate !
soooo... yeh. i relay like clasical guitar and this is the coolist shit ever. does anyone have any names for this or somthing like it that i can get tabs for?
... ps im not a beginner or new to classical guitar im just having trouble finding more music like this that is good
i just brought a classical guitar. its tuned..i think..im not a beginner. im killer on the electric..but im having a problem..
the lowest strings (EAD) have no definition...they sounds blurred when i play a chord, no matter what chord..you cant make it out..because its so blurred. the high strings are fine. but not these ones. anyone know what could help me????
I know its your own personal style and flavor, i mean i can recognise a composition of yours from miles away...
But i have a question if you ever bother reading comments. Do you ever play normal tuning ? I d love to hear something different, less dark, more uplifting !!
To me, their is no such thing as a 'normal tuning' for guitars. I would never limit myself to that notion. That being said, I do a great deal of work in concert tuning over the course of 10 cd's. As far as dark... one man's dark is another man's light to the gods. It is only through divine providence that I get to convey a small fraction of the 'music of the spheres'. You see, ALL music has already been composed for us anyway. We merely act as a conduit, a sort of soft machine receiver. REL
i tried to put nylons on my dreadnaught and they slipped out of the bridge hole. yeah you probably need a classical guitar where you can actually tie the string onto the bridge
I don't mean to start shit here, but to all those who say that metal requires more skill than this, think about this little fact, Shredding just builds upon what your fingers are built to do (run up and down real easily) Jazz/Classical puts your fingers in ackward uncomfortable, dare I say, Unnatural positions for an extended period of time.
The flip side to that is that there is no 1 real style of guitar playing that requires more "skill" than another. Think about how you all were when you first started a fuckin' barchord was a pain in the ass but you practiced it until you could play it real well and do all sorts of crazy things with it,In other words all styles, all techniques, all forms of guitar require time and patience. Maybe 1 person is quicker to pick up on Classical/Flamenco than is on Shredding/Metal styles or vice versa
@sabrakazama Metal isnt 100% shredding, though. I love metal that doesnt focus on scales as much as it does a fusion of melodic guitar riffs, epic vocals and lyrics, and precise drums. I love both classical and metal, and this guy's solo was epic.
@sabrakazama this is true in some respects, i recently started classical guitar after 2 years on electric. I could do all the shredding, sweeping and multi-fingered tapping but merely the chordal dimensions of classical guitar was so complex compared to the simple scale and arpeggio shaped stuff i had been doing on electric. Classical is easily the hardest thing to play on the guitar
someone tell me that what that guy is doing right there takes less skill than a metal guitarist for example and il gladly slap you with a wet fish ..really i will !
He really loved the DADGAD tuning, and I gotta tell ya, after learning to play Baraka (for the most part) and learning a ton of celtic songs, I'm starting to adore it too.
Great stuff for a "not-spanish" guy. Most of the times, guitar players who try to play "flamenco" guitar, can't give that "duende" (a.k.a. feeling)to their perfomance, but this guy is different.
If you like this kind of guitar style, check some videos or music of Tomatito,Vicente Amigo or Paco de Lucia.
Okay, some guy wearing a marshall shirt, with long hair and a cowboy hat, busting out some beautiful flamenco? Something's not right here...

Ok, but remember your guitar is designed for the tension of steel strings only and vice-versa. You can do harm to your guitar in the long run.

Maybe new strings would help? Try Savarez strings.

you probly strung it weird, might as well just take it to a shop and have them do a full set up and you'll be good for awhile
shredmaster47 2 years ago
I think the top strings (EAD) need to be intonated.
because i had the same problem with my guitar too and thats how i fix the problem:)
