Siri is not an A.I.... Siri can't recognize british accent, if it has been set up for american accent... This is not something "unique"... Siri is just a voice recognizing software with a huge database behind, like any other "artificial intteligence". It has no humor, the programmers just set up some funny lines into the database....

What he jsut said is bullshit.... It cant understand languages or phrases but the one, its programmed to and therefore its not an artificial intellegence. It works in the way that it recognises the tone level of the question or phrase, and then it has a pre programmed set of answers for that question.... It CANNOT think for itself, cus it doesn't know the meaning behind words, it only knows what apple programmed it to know and what you tell it, it cant link information together and learn from it

Hmm I think Siri has upped the ante of innovation because it takes advantage of the fact that speaking is always faster than typing (for most people at least). This increases productivity, which should free up more time in life to do other meaningful things right? Alas, there lies a conundrum because even with all these "time-saving" innovations, people always seem to be complaining that they don't have enough time OR just wasting the time saved by doing nothing useful. Apple won't open it to 3rd party developers for two reasons: 1) They know someone will improve it way more than they have / will in a very short amount of time. 2) It will take over the world and then Apple will be ruled by it's creation, and that's just asking for Portal.
