  • this guy is boss!

  • Hi.

Beautiful chattering decoration. Thank you for this video

  • Do you rinse your projects before glazing?

  • 9:21 WOaahh what happen there? You didn't put wax resist in the inside. So how come there wasn't really any green glaze on it when you dipped the bowl in there?

  • @acidfriend47

The air inside the bowl prevents the glaze from going up into the bowl when you dip it.

Take a clear drinking glass and dip it into a pool of water and you will see the water does not go up into the glass.

  • @createniks I tried it and failed... the water went half way of the glass. is this something that takes time to master?

  • @acidfriend47

If the rim of the glass or pot makes contact with the water or glaze evenly it wont go inside the piece.

  • First off, let me say that I love your videos! Could you make one on glazing covered containers such as casseroles and teapots? Thank you so much!

  • your pieces are absolutely incredible. but out of curiosity, do you use a detail brush with a different glaze on it to get that different color in your chattering marks? or do they just fire like that? in this video i'm referring to the second bowl with the green glaze, but i've noticed a lot of your pieces have that.

  • Hi Hsin, can you please tell the names of the glazes that your are using? Where are you purchasing them from??

  • @TheSignGuy32 Hi, the little bottle I used for the texture was Duncan underglaze which you can buy at clay supply store easily. For glazes in the very front slides show, slide 1, navy blue inside and laguna green outside. Slide 2, copper red inside and moss blue outside. Slide 3, Ann's blue outside and glossy white inside. These glaze were made form glaze recipes not commercial.

  • Amazing technique. Your video is helpful in realizing to not rush the glazing process. Also, the scotch brite material is a fantastic idea for glazing applications, and probably greenware polishing as well!

  • Such a helpful video. Many thanks for generously sharing- the best videos on YOUTUBE.

  • Your pots are very beautiful, thank you for sharing them with us. Regards June

  • Thank you for this video. you're very famous between my colleages of the pottery class. Last day we have a wonderful dinner in the workshop while we were looking your videos. I learnt and still learnt of your way of lift. thank you again from spain.

    best regards.nico.

  • Thank you for your wonderful videos. Very inspiring!! The navy blue glaze is awesome! Would you want to share recipe?

  • Those are beautiful. Thank you!

  • I forgot to ask, did you fire the casserole with the lid in place, or did you fire them apart. I hope you put it on etsy I want it haha Thanks

  • @johnnysatty Hi, I always fire covered pots with lids in place. My lids and the bodies were very tie fit, if they were not firing together they might not fit after been fired. One tip to wax lidded pot is that I usually add Alumina Hydrate powder into the wax to prevent the lid from sticking together with the body.

  • They all look great!!! :)

  • Hmmm very nice. Never thought to use a metal rig to take glaze off!!!!

  • that casserole came out amazing, so nice. Awesome cooper reds too, its clear you have great control over your firings

  • what cone was the firing?

  • @DubGongTuff Cone 10

  • @hsinchuen I suspected. Im making some pieces for a wood firing. I really like the chattering design you put on the bowl. Im trying something similar to see the effect in a wood kiln.

  • "If you do a good job it will be a nice pot" Truer words were never spoken... thank you so much for sharing your expertise with fellow lovers of the clay form.

Your love of the craft and open heart sharing of your knowledge is greatly appreciated. Bless your kind heart. :-)

  • Beautiful results. Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful glazing and instruction!

    Thank you!
