  • i love to go in Tokyo

  • byd is better, this company will never go mainstream but byd can make 800.000 cars/year

  • Say YES to the ZERO EMISSION future :)!!!!!

  • lol Shenzhen already has 200 of them rolling around 1 year ago.

  • how do the EV taxis do on hills? Our city has a lot of steep hills.

  • Will be nice for the planet.

  • this is awesome. I heard san francisco will be doing....NY should be next and then all taxis will follow....a great start on a better planet.

  • @appletonp EvTaxi and swapstations are now a reality. All major cities in the US should replace the taxi fleets w non polluting EV taxis, good for the city...good for the people and the environment. Keep posted w EV Taxi developments at EvTaxi.com

  • I think having battery staitions is the answer to the issues of range. Just like filling up your gas tank, one stops to get charged batteries. The stations can have solar pannels as roof helping them be more eco friendly. Too bad there is so much red tape involved in getting this idea going.

  • I wonder how replacing the combustion engine taxis with electric vehicle taxis will affect the health of the Japanese in Tokyo.

  • Los Angeles needs a huge fleet of these vehicles and to add more solar powered charging stations throughout the city. Imagine: free energy for public transportation systems (and a lower cost passed on to its passengers, reducing the need for traditional fuel consumption!)

  • Ya gotta love it!

  • Let's get this going in San Francisco...

  • And at least about 40% of the energy comes from Japan's nuclear power plants. This is the only way we'll ever get a nuclear powered car!!!!1!

  • @wasneva

Science denial, opposition to progress and suckling at the teat of the middle east, all in one post. Wow.

  • Why Better Place use this kind of cars and not a lighter and smaller cars? Its much heavier than family sedan.

  • @Mishkafofer I think the main reason for a big car is that you need it for this kind of battery. I assume that you might be able to provide smaller batteries for a higher price. Oh, and the NY Times knows: Mr. Fujii said in an e-mail message that the Dualis “vehicle body is very suitable for the switch to E.V. configuration"

  • You are right Mr Better Place: this is the ultimate test and demo. Each taxi customer will physically enjoy Zero Emission car and have a chat with the driver about "is it better, how does you charge, what distance you do every day, what about the driving experience, is there a magic somwhere, can I get one ?"

  • Better Place so persistent, I love it! Hope US and Canada will adopt this. This is important!

  • Been following Better Place since the beginning. I am thrilled to see this company moving ahead, challenging status quo, and proving that a viable business model exists in automotive electrification. Bravo!

  • Love it. Please bring this in Canada.
