She was miming that her face was being pushed up against a glass/window or mirror...that's why her cheek was flattened out in that strange look. She's not mentally challenged...she's a brilliant talent.Lot of work and analyzation of human actions etc.

I notice that some mimes have a their makeup on kinda thick...does it really matter if it's thick or not??
