  • nobody has confirmed that loretta has cancer. just a bad rumor.

  • love loretta!!!dont even bother comin home!!!!

  • Loretta Lynn was such a great singer before she got cancer n i thinkshe'll be loved long after since she was soo loved before her cancer

  • @MultiPrincetongirl81 I honestly don't think she has cancer. Where did you hear that?

  • @IndyBikeFriendly back in the 70s doctors did fine a tumor in Loretta's breast but it was benign.

  • This song rings so true with me... only replace drinkin' with smokin'!

  • Dude was a total jerk and yanked her arm at the end. I know it's Bill Monroe and it's TV but seriously give the girl her due.

  • aww i wanna meeet Lorettta Lynn so bad iwish me and my granpa can meet her . haha she is theee besst <333

  • @kkiilljjooy Looks like a straight E to me.

  • What year was this?

  • @ptpike1ok thanks. and if you have any videos giving lessons on playing guitar if you would post them or make some i would appreciate it so much

  • @ptpike1do you think you could make a video on how to play A7 with one finger?

  • @dmoor10 Sorry, friend, but I don't think there is a way to play A7 with one finger in standard tuning. The easiest way I know of takes two fingers (finger the D and B strings at the second fret, leaving the G string and all other strings open, strumming all except low E.) You can, however, play a regular A chord with one finger; just bar the D, G, and high E at the second fret, leaving all other strings open. That will work in the place of A7, it just won't sound as "interesting".

  • I love loretta and dolly's duet. this song is on it :D

  • Does anyone know what model fender that guitar is?

  • @kkiilljjooy thanks so much, tryin to learn to play guitar, do you play, i could really use the help.

  • Comment removed

  • can someone tell me what chord she is playing at 0:19 thanks

  • @dmoor10 If you have tried E7 there, you know kkkilljjooy is mistaken. It isn't E7; it's A7. She's barring the B, G, and D strings at the second fret while fingering the high E string at the third fret. You can also play A7 by fingering the D and B strings and leaving the G string open, and it's a bit easier. A7 is just A with a G note thrown in. You could just play A there and it would work; A7 just sounds cooler. Good luck with your playing!

  • love this song

  • After 6 years, Loretta Lynn finally hit #1 on the Country & Western charts with this hit. This was the 110th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. It was also the first new #1 C&W hit of 1967, having knocked off There Goes My Everything (Jack Greene).

  • @mkl62 wow this is info id id not know and I know a lot about country.

  • I'm 18 and i love this song..

  • dammit baby, i wanted to come home a'drinkin' with lovin' om my mind.....DAMMIT!!!!

  • Loretta Lynn and Carrie Underwoods cloths look alike. Loretta dress looks like Carries the other night on Superstar Women of Country. Loretta was going to be there but had to have knee surgery. I Love You Loretta.

  • @MrRickycurry Correction...Carrie's dress looked like Loretta's lol.

  • @preachboy3 Think your funny don't you smart ass lol.

  • @MrRickycurry Yes, well I try. I failed. So what?

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY Loretty!

  • @MICKEY714061....Happy Birthday indeed...77 and still goin' strong! :)

  • Loretta Lynn is amongst the greatest country music artists ever. That strong, distinctive, beautiful voice. This is a fantastic song, great performance. What has country today devolved into? I'm in my mid twenties, I didn't grow up with this great music. I just wonder how modern country fans ears don't fall off.

  • @wandysilva Agreed! I'm 17 so didn't grow up with this music either....wish I did! I also can't understand why modern country music is so popular and why less and less yuonger people are familier with this sort of classic country. It's a great shame .

  • my god. bill monroe comign out of the shadows. two LEGENDS together acting like its nothing. generations to come will scarce believe people such as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth.

  • =) =) =) =) =)

  • you are absolutely correct live television...you better be good...not high on anything and dont mess up one bit...

  • Back then you had to sing good live or no one liked you. If Taylor Swift was around at the time of Loretta Lynn she wouldn't have made it because the girl can't sing. Lorettas the queen and always will be :)

  • @CoCoLove214 Couldnt of said that any better! Thank God I finally found one person who agrees with me that Taylor Swift cant sing! I mean im not trying to be mean and A LOT of people will think I am but... She just isnt country, not the real country as loretta lynne, tammy wynett, patsy cline, dolly parton so on and so forth they are true real country.

  • I came home a drinkin, with sleepin on my mind!

  • @silverexplosion LOL!!!! when I drank, that's what would happen to me too.. came home a drinkin', with sleepin' on my mind... that is some damn funny stuff!

  • My girl and i both go out a drinkin' together. Then we come home and the lovin' starts...

  • @bwmcmaste no lol

  • 1 person came home a'drinkin.

  • can someone tell me what chord she is playing at 0:18

  • long before my time but remember with a big smile my nana listening to loretta. this one in particular.

  • loretta lynn is long before my time but i remember my nana listening to this song. i listen to it with a smile

  • Loretta has the greatest smile I have ever seen! :)

  • Bill Monroe was on at the end. It's a shame that it finished because he was fantastic too.

  • Why can't more songs be like this today ? I think it's time that we should revisit Loretta's lyrics. More songs should written about being treated with respect.

  • This is what country music is about… real songs that come from the heart and are true that the singer actually wrote! Someone should tell modern day Nashville to do the same

  • mrtr

Great for a complete women. mrtr

  • @ Camogirl74

I didnt say anything about accents! I said the way she speaks! Dolly Parton is very comedic too and I am not talking about her accent! I am not talking about her singing I am talking about how she communicates with others. How she can make people Laugh! Some people take things so wrong on these boards I swear!

  • The "old stuff" captures the soul of a nation whose priorities were healthy. Country still captures that feeling to a greater extent than the perversity, and perverse lyrics of rap, hip hop and techno.

  • If she wasn't such an awesome singer she could have also been a wonder stand up comedian of that time! She makes me laugh everytime I hear her talk. She so funny!

  • I grew up listening to this awesome music, too. Country is changing but I still love the old stuff!

  • I feel like Loretta and Conway are my family. I've grew up listening to all their songs. Loretta is more than a legend and she deserves more love. Singers like Loretta,Conway, george Jones, and Merle ARE country music and I love them all. God Bless.

  • @rodneyastone I feel the same way about Johnny Cash

  • @rodneyastone I feel the same way about Johnny Cash

  • @rodneyastone You forgot Jerry Reid, Hoyt Axton, Grandpa Jones, Chet Atkins, The Statler Brothers!!!!!! ;).

  • @rodneyastone I AGREE , with you .

  • this is such a good song

  • shes damn pretty back then

  • The host of the show pissed me off grabbing her arm like that. Dude...treat her like a lady!

  • I LOVE this song....she just puts it straight.

  • This is the first time for me to see the REAL Loretta Lynn, so it's strange for me since I'm just used to seeing Sissy Spacek in her movie. And it has been over a decade or so since I saw that movie. I was just on here lurking for country, and was curious of Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle. Though the song is short for my taste, I DOOOO enjoy it!

  • What a terrific voice. Clear as a bell and pitch-perfect.

  • Shes right you dont wont go around the estern Kentucky girls Drinking. 95% hate drinking. its a fact.

  • Loretta Lynn is a badass.

  • /watch?v=bHFn-6uj4ps

  • i love this song love loretta since was little still do today

  • Yeah, she broke down so many social barriers and managed to remain a refined lovely lady. She put God and family first. Not too many of us can boast the same.

  • Bill Monroe in the corner....

  • loretta lynn is the best girl singer she isn't afraid to say what is on her mind she true honest country music all the new girl singers could take a lesson from her about singing from the heart she is the best

  • On this clip she sings "because you're always gone" instead of "because you're always stoned". She swallows the word "gone" a bit - as if to not draw attention to the switch..

  • Wow he does grab that arm !!!

  • Necromancy

I had no success at all; until one night I was sitting in bed reading a book and who walks right through the wall but my friend, the spirit of my friend! And she said Im going to make you a very famous person in singing country music. she got out on the stage and she started to sing and right in the middle of where she really needed the power! And her spirit-friend tapped her on the shoulder and started to sing for her. She said, Her voice went through me, the power. Deut 18: 10-12

  • @MsOrlandos it's so she'll get the blocking right and everyone can be centered on camera

it's his job as the host of the program

  • ...loretta was a house wife type that became a super star w/ her talent and charm...!

  • Her best tune, so hard-edged and upbeat at the same time.

  • i,ll give up the bottle for loretta.........

  • Anybody remember the Mad magazine parody of Coal Miner's Daughter - it was don't come home adrinkin' with bowlin' on your mind.
