@INEEDNAWZZZ the Fiat has a better variety of engines but if you compare the equivalent engines the Ka wins due to a better tweaked chassis resulting in better handling.
I personally would not take either mark 2 Ka or 500 (unless Abarth) and instead take a mark 1 Ka 1.3 or Sportka 1.6 which have a far better chassis than mark 2 Ka and any 500 with exception to the Abarth.
If you pick the Abarth you must question its chassis and personally the Twingo sport has a far better chassis !
For people who don't know, this is totally a Fiat: petrol and diesel engine are from fiat, chassis is from Fiat, it's also made in the Fiat factory in Tychy (Poland). The only things made by ford are the design, and the piece of plastic with the name duratorq that covers the petrol engine, altough it's a FIRE family engine.
1) If 500's power is equivalent to mark2 Ka then get the Ka as the chassis has been improved and it does handles better than the 500
2) if you opt for a 500 with a better engine than mark2 ka then you got to decide which is more important straight line speed (yawns) or speed in corners/bends (fun)
3) if its the Abarth then forget the Ka and get the Abarth

I'd rather take the Ka mark 1 better chassis, better handling, better power to weight ratio, the steering is balanced well
500 / mark2 Ka is lifeless and dull and simply does not handle as well as you cannot push them in corners for the fear of loosing control .
Euroncap: all small cars are unsafe if you have a 70mph crash with a lorry etc.
End of the day if I want to feel safe I'd sit in a Megane, Focus, Mondeo, Golf etc not a 500 or Ka!

@flatblackstrat Well the latest Data logging (from warranty direct) has proven the excellent Fiat Panda as the second most reliable car in Europe after Peugeot 207. No Fords in the top 10 list, so it seems Fiat are far better quality. Do your homework before posting. FORD means Fix Or Repair Daily.

@u1430 One on one with 2 models yes. As a brand most definitely not. The Punto is crap along with several other models. Out of 38 brands reviewed by "Which? Car", Fiat ranked 35th in reliability, way below Ford. Maybe you might want to lower that fan boy flag a little bit. It's covering your eyes.

@flatblackstrat Well reliability is luck with any product and these surveys shouldnt mean anything when buying a car. It's about the whole package. I buy Fiats because they have style and good design - both of which Fords don't have. My Fiats have proven to be very reliable. So there are many happy "fiat fan boys" like myself who don't complete crappy little Which surveys. In my opinion, Fiats are better than Ford, get over it..

Several cars have the same exact C02 ratings as Fiats. 99grams per kilometer is becoming the norm. Saying surveys don't matter, then saying that the 207 and Panda are the most reliable because a survey said so probably makes you lack many of those brain cell that Fiat owners "supposedly" have. I'm very satisfied with my car, like most people who actually own Fiats. Maybe you should check out Facebook and you'll see hundereds of thousands of satisfied owners. My mate had a 2007 VW Polo and that was shit - very unreliable and dull to drive - he finally got rid when they said it needed a new engine!! so yes I will never touch a VW - or Ford ever

The Fiat Panda may have 3 stars, but its older and soon to be replaced. The new model will have 5 stars.
