I agree with everyone that Death Magnetic is a great album (in terms of what Metallica created).
However, the sound quality of this album is FUCKING SHIT. It sounds worse than 128Kbps MP3, thanks to that fucking retard of a producer compressing it so much. They shuld've got Bob Rock on this album, he made St Anger (which is a shit album) sound great all thanks to his editing.
Metallica haven't "sold out" until this point. I will never again buy a Metallica album which sounds like shit.

I really dislike record producers. Did Metallica need a record producer when Kea was made, not really. Why do they waste their money now. It's their music they should be able to do as they please. Kill Em All was a revolutionary album for the metal scnee in the early 80s. Show some respect. Its got a lot of raw, real energy and attitude that a lot of bands cant capture.
Death Magnetic is a bland record that no one will care about next year. Kill em all has stood the test of time and is considered a classic.
Kill em all, Ride the lightning, and Master of puppets made this band what they are today...if Death was their first record, you would have never heard of them before.

I really dislike record producers. Did Metallica need a record producer when Kea was made, not really. Why do they waste their money now. It's their music they should be able to do as they please. Maybe get someone to help them record properly and make sure the songs sound alright..otherwise they're kind of pointless.
It's the band that makes the music and it's the band that should have absolute control. That's how I see at anywho.

DAMN Metallica is still awsome look at the fast songs That was just your life , All Nightmare Long , My Apocolypse and some of the awsome metal songs Broken Beat and Scared , Cyanide , Judas priest oops Judas Kiss and the awsome ballads The day that never comes and Unforgiven III The end of the line was pretty good but not my favorite my favorite is My Apocolyse i think Death magnetic is an awsome album overall! Metallica is comming back!

It's the record companies. They stop making money off bands and they're gonna have the band make watered -down music. And then you get crappy bands like Fall Out Boy because they rake in HUGE amounts of cash.
It's all about the money for the record companies.

There are plenty of heavy metal bands, blues artists, etc. that don't pull down loads of cash and still get to make the music they want? That's uncanny.
Maybe if they didn't charge 18 bucks per cd people wouldn't download them.

You say a band making an album like Death Magnetic is doing fine? That's probably the worst album I've ever bought/listened to! Metallica and some other bands have to water their music down to compete with the pop crap, because the greedy record labels can't make money off of them. The bands and artists you speak of are probably signed to small record labels or even independent, and they're not very well known.

well, for a start, not every band is as roley poley rich as they make themselves out to be its all part of the image cos rock stars have to appear on top of the world, that doesnt mean you or anyone else has the right to deprieve them of anything short of what they have earned. yea i spose i did get harsh on rtl... my bad. all in all... metallica is still one of my fav's! hetfield is a riff god! lars can kiss my ass(cuz of his "napster" stuff) and i cant find anything bad to say about kirk. he's almost too nice to be a metal god! .. pick a bassist and ill say how well they fit in with the rest of the band. good stuff. and ill still go buy a new metallica album and so will my sons... unless of course they decide to be polka fans.... then i gotta kick em outta muh house.

Wrong. Death Magnetic is a MILLION times better than Kill em All. Some morons always mention Kill em All as the best just because its fast and heavy. But even Metallica says that the writing sucked on it. They were teenagers, for fucks sake. Death Magnetic is their best album since Justice.

Kill Em All was a revolutionary album for the metal scnee in the early 80s. Show some respect. Its got a lot of raw, real energy and attitude that a lot of bands cant capture.

Death Magnetic is a bland record that no one will care about next year. Kill em all has stood the test of time and is considered a classic.
Kill em all, Ride the lightning, and Master of puppets made this band what they are today...if Death was their first record, you would have never heard of them before.
If Metallica thinks the writing sucked then why is 75% of their show material from the 80's?
