Super Stardust HD PSN Review

is this game a special ''genre''? because i'd like to find more games like this. (i don't have a ps3 so i can't buy this)

i like geometry wars, i only have the demo of this. is this good? i think the gold melter is overpowered tho, all the gameplay vids they just spam the gold melter flamethrower thingy spinning around in circles. thats kinda lame

I've completed the Arcade without diying once XD Its soo cool once you reach 100% on the 3 weapons so from there on all the pick up will give you 200% power for 15 seconds which is awesome and saves your ass often, dash and bombs are security meassures.

I was looking at a gameplay of this game and i sucks badly to me, then i play it for like 10 minutes and woooow this is stupidly fun i just cant stop playing it!!!

@DEIVION212 yes it has a demo..I'm loving that game, I got it with the welcome back..but I have to say that the demo has a stupid feature: if you play it, it installs the trophies, wich is stupid because you can't get them.

I won't because I'm actually blocking every ASSHOLE who comes on and spams my video with those comments, so I would never say free, lol.

It depends on the store and the DLC, I think it's about £8 U.K and $10 U.S but as I can't check the store to confirm, then that's just a best guess.

Just one thing ...Super Stardust predates Geometry Wars by how many years? Ten or so?

There was a Super Stardust before this one?!

@DEIVION212 Yeah, there were two! Housemarque were originally two companies; Terramarque and Bloodhouse. Bloodhouse made Stardust and Super Stardust for the Amiga computers. The graphics and music were head and shoulders above anything else released on the machine. Terramarque made a Streetfighter clone called Elfmania which was alright to play, but looked and sounded sublime. Especially since it ran on a stock Amiga 600

Do you remember a polygon fighter from the AMIGA? I've been desperate to remember it's name and I think it was something like BodyBlo Diablo but I can't find anyone who's heard of it.

Aha my brother remembers it, it was bodyblows galactic, such an amazing game :D

He also thinks he had Stardust but didn't realise that this was the same game. It's just been too damned long since we played on that awesome machine. I'd kill for another one :D

@DEIVION212 Oooh! It was Bodyblows Galactic! You threw me by saying polygon fighter, and thought you meant spaceship fighting. Glad you remembered it matey. Also, Amiga1200s can be picked up on EBay for less than a tenner these days + there's supposed to be a new Amiga released soon by a company called a-eon, which sound interesting - It'll cost a mite more than a tenner though!

Yeah but the problem with the e-Bay route is that most people have all of the pirated games and because of that when buying game collections of over 200 games you never know just what games you're buying as no one ever lists them. So finding specific games is a bit of a mare, there's quite a few that I've look for over th eyears and could never find so I just didn't bother. But this new AMIGA gives me hope.

But yeah, Puppet was why I thought it was a poly fighter, as he's made of shapes.

@DEIVION212 There are two stand out polygon fighters that I recall. There were the Star Glider series by Jes San which were what lead to him developing Starfox for the SNES and Argonaut's SuperFX chip. Much later came a game called Guardian which was a similar game to Star Fighter except it had filled polygons. Bodyblo Diablo makes me think of Team17's Streetfighter clone called Body Blows Galactic, which won't be what you're thinking of. Hmmm, will have a think!

This is definately a great game imo. It was the first psn game I got (but I got Crash Bandicoot ps1 classic first, but when it comes to a different psn game this was the first;). Great game w/ great music and stuff, but it definately takes some exp., skill and maybe even luck 2 get the sweet trophies. This game has some of the most difficult trophies ever (looking at you late boomer and shock and awe). All I need now is that gold one w/ the co-op add-on for 100% =D

I've done tons of other PSN stuff and I've just done SF IV.

Don't do PS3 games as I rarely buy them, infact SF IV's the only one that I own, so I made an exception for that :)

Had the beta of K2 and the demo, not a fan. Didn't like the first one either, PSP one was ok. But I've got access to better FPS' (P.C) so it's rare that I find a console one worth playing now.

Liked Resistance, shame that 2 didn't have a real co-op.

Which is why when I get Mirrors, I'll be P.Cing it :)

Only PS3 game out now that I'm interested in, is Valkyria. I've had tons and hated most.

I'm just not a fan of what people want these days it seems.

3D interactive Movies.

Like MGS4 and Battlefield BC.

I much prefer the last gens MGS' and Battlefields.

And looking at the releases for all the consoles this year, says to me that they'll be collecting dust in my house.

Most of the decent looking games are hitting the P.C too, and as they're half the price, I'll just buy them for that.

I finally got this game a couple days ago and I love it! I can't get enough of the music! That track that plays on the first planet has been on a constant loop in my head since I first played it. Endless mode is awesome. It gets so intense at times it's crazy. I have try geometry wars for the wii now.  I just wish it Nintendo would add some kind of trophy system like ps3/360.
