mainly conservation - we do keep a few to smoke every year but let most go to be enjoyed by others

are steelhead and rainbow the same fish because i heard for someone tht they are?????

they're pretty much the same almost.

steelhead is a anadromous variety of rainbow -lives in ocean or great lakes and spawns in rivers and streams.

around here in the great lakes the domestic rainbows also live in the lake and spawn in the streams making it difficult at times to tell the true steelhead apart from the rainbows.

steelhead are longer streamlined fish and the rainbows are deeper bodied - some slight color differences too although both are silver when first entering streams.some will argue they're the same fish but if you've been fishing long enough you can easily tell the difference

tough to cut the wind out -got to try change position so the wind don't hit it.

we use a cheap sony mini dv handi cam

Bill your videos rock! Ive only been hitting western ny tribs for about a year and a half and you guys have been pretty much guiding me through every step of every season. I learn alot from your videos, and they have really pointed me in the direction of some excellent fishing and helped me bring more fish to the net. Keep em coming!
