I hear you. I have Temporary Catastrophic insurance with a $2,500 deductible. I'm supposed to pay the $2,500 and the insurance pays the rest. I broke my leg two weeks ago, and I need surgery or I'll get much worse. They have to screw in a metal bar to keep my leg together.
The insurance company will only pay if it is medically necessary.
Can I ask you a question? Is repairing a broken bone medically necessary? I hope so.
@pluto4847 - I'm sorry to hear about your accident. To answer your question... HELL YES, repairing a broken bone is medically necessary!!! I swear, insurance companies don't have any common sense! All they think about is how to make more profits by jacking up premiums and covering less and less! They always use the lame o' excuse that they have to raise the premiums to keep up with the medical cost! This is totally bullshit!
I asked the hospital what the total costs of repairing a broken leg, and they can't answer. They don't know. One said less than $10,000, another said $15,000. They just don't know.
Well whatever it is, I only want to pay the first $2,500 if my insurance company thinks it is medically necessary.
the Public Option needs implemented! Sick and tired of these private insurance companies raising premiums on individuals every fucking year!
