Kindly note...Bullet classic 500 is available in both silencer's...The RE dealer cannot ask for more price...if stock silencer have 2 catalytic converter n upswept have one. Plz dont pat extra...I bought mine with upswept silencer. Keep riding...
Ive just written off my 2009 Bullet Deluxe.8-( Anyone after a genuine RE (British made) Sports silencer in VERY good condition? (Had it on the bike for 200 miles.).
nice bike, Ive been looking at one myself . Have you had any issues with it? these are not common in the states so I dont much about the new EFI models.
Man that bike sounds great..Is it the same silencer that comes in stock with the classics now, its upswept as well as u'd know...If not which one is this and is it easily available...btw, I live in india...Would be very thankful if you'd help me....Great bike..
@adiagni I think this may be the stock silencer in India, in Europe the Classics come with a straight silencer which has 2 catalytic converters in it, robing power and sound (for EU emissions crap)
Check out my other video for the EU stock silencer
@britpod i live in india, new delhi and i have a CL500 as well and the straight silencer with the 2 catalytic converters is stock here as well. the upswept silencer is an after-market add on if one chooses to get it.
question though, if urs is an EFI 500, why does it have the choke?
@britpod i live in india, new delhi and i have a CL500 as well. It comes with the straight silencer with the catalytic converters as stock. india follows euro 3 norms and the emissions crap are the reason here as well. the upwept is an after-market purchase...
@adiagni the stock silencer in India is the straight one... this one is an off-road silencer which is sold by RE themselves for about rs. 1,500.... I ride a black C5 with the up-swept silencer and the thump is a joy to listen to :-)
@robmcginley Pretty simple mate, you need to remove a lug bolt going into the chassis to put a support bracket on, and to remove the stock silencer it has a heat shield that has to be pushed to the front of the bike to un-hook, but other than that it's slip-on.
i'm currently in Nepal and am looking to buy a new Enfield, ride it in nepal for the next year and then ride it back to the UK.
Does anyone have any advice on what model to get (i'm thinking classic 500), whether it will be able to pass UK MOT, what problems/costs i may face importing in to the UK in this way.
All/any thoughts/advice welcome please.
ps what top speed are you getting? what do you reckon for 0-60? and what kind of luggage carrying capacity?
@wyndhamb1981 : Hi, Bikes sold in the Indian subcontinent (Nepal included) do not meet the UK emission norms. You will NOT be able to import your bike to UK. This info is clearly mentioned on the Royal Enfield website plus I reconfirmed with the manufacturer. Sorry to disappoint u :(
Hey I just bought a 2010 Classic in Canada. I was just wondering what are these aftermarket exhausts called and who makes them? Thanks so much. By the way your bike sounds awesome!!!
Hey, I just bought a '10 Classic in Canada. What is this aftermarket exhaust called? Its sounds awesome!! Appreciate any reply you could give....Thanks.
I fancy replacing the stock torpedo with the shorter sports silencer (not the Gold Star one) on my Bullet EFI Deluxe. Anyone done that, what does it sound like, does it effect the performance??
@robmcginley I believe I've read of G5 (Electra frame EFI's) owners replacing the stock silencer with Electra silencers and got some nice performance boosts.
The Classic EFI is the same engine, and both model lines would need to have the same import guidelines so I'm sure the non-classics have the 2 Catalytic converters inside the stock silencer, which is a major bottleneck.
I'd def get rid of the stock mate, makes a massive difference.
Nice! My main ride is an F800GS and what blew me away about the RE is how reasonable the accessories/upgrades are! I get raped whenever I get something for the F800! ...getting impatient!
Nah got it from the local dealer from Watsonian Squire, came to 111.00 after P&P and tax, which is about 12 quid more than advertised, also ordered the pillion seat but it's on backorder

Hi (again) I'm guessing it's not a huge job to swap the silencers? Did you do it yourself? Cheers Rob

How do these bikes sound with straight pipes? Does anyone know if it sounds anything like a Triumph? Does it have a beefier sound?
