  • Reminds me of a hard core Rush fan on a desert island of the South Pacific livin' the dream . . . Baby!

  • Dog barking in the background of a hard core Rush fan's back yard - this is precious!

  • Oh Crap, He sings too!

  • fidgetsdaddy is the shiznit! spent a year-1/2 following you, man. into the future, my friend.

  • As blicksneatff said: this is epic!!! We have to find a way to make Alex Lifeson watch this!

  • the video quality is 240p.

    the playing quality is 1080p.

  • Brilliant. You had me playing air drums between your killer riffs brother!!! If you DISLIKE this, you are an absolute dipshit. Period.

  • Very nice-especially like the No-one At The Bridge part at the end.

If you don't mind, I'de like to put this up as my happy new year thing on facebook.I'll send you the link.

  • That is beyond one the bloody coolest things I've ever seen!

  • shredding uke....

  • When you are Captain Epic you need no pants.

    Shred on Sensei

  • Yeah, you got me. The pants were waiting, this was my soundcheck. I would've never been able to play it again and have all the background noises fall into place like they did in this take, so I used it. I did two takes WITH pants right after this one. Maybe played it a little better or a little worse in parts, but this take had synchronicity. I've been waiting to be called out on it. Congrats!

  • @Fidgetsdaddy Really great job,, I love your creativity,,peace

  • Nice of you to put pants on for this special performance.

  • oh man I loooooooooooooooooove this. So brilliant to hear a heavy song like this played on a ukele. Keep up the good work!

  • island rush lol love it

  • WOW ! ! !

  • Nice! That's awesome!

  • Great work :) Nice tune, and nice uku too ^^

  • I think I've just found my calling in life - I need to find a remote island (invisible to telescopic eye) learn to play uke and cover my fave rush tracks.... keep on keeping on dude!

  • Another great display of incredible ukulele skill (and taste in songs to cover)!

  • omg thats real music :D

  • haha awesome man! just spotted Bacchus Plateau, gonna have to watch that one next, as it's one my favorite parts of Fountain of Lamneth :)

  • It's not electric. It's a cookie tin banjo uke I built last summer. If you notice the bottom of the tin is the face of the uke. All that tin gives it a good loud reverb sound. Thanks for the comment, I was going for the weird factor as far as something you wouldn't expect to hear on a uke............Rick

  • this is really weird, but pretty genial. makes me wanna spin some rush. what sort of of ukulele is that, an electric?

  • This is the strangest thing I`ve ever seen musically. It`s great!

  • I never would have though a ukulele cover of a RUSH tune would be worthwhile, boy was I wrong! Really fun to watch, great job Fidgetsdaddy!

  • kudos man that is amazing i love it

  • I just did a lot of listening and experimenting until I figured it out.

  • do you have tabs for this or did you learn this by ear?

  • No really, that is fucking cool !!

  • That's fucking cool !

  • btw, i must try this on my BARITONE uke.......

  • too cool and real. thanks!

  • This is ridiculously cool. My hat's off to you. That's dedication right there. I watched all 8:51. It was magical. Now, go do the second part.

  • Thank you very much. I also enjoy your Cure covers with Steve. Makes me want to do Facination Street! If I do I'll let you know.

    Thanks again and keep playing.........

  • It was absolutely wonderful! I liked your cover. It was nearly unbelievable that you managed to play this song with your ukulele. Well, but then, it just shows that true musicians can create music out of anything.

By the way, I am sure the band members from Rush would really be happy to see this video!

  • This is great! When I get my Ukulele I will definately try this out. Keep Up The Epic Music!

  • Hey Thanks, no I didn't amp the uke, it's all picked up off the mike on the camera! The scraping noise you sometimes hear is a plant limb being brushed against the camera by the wind, and it was really ripping at times.

  • That was very good! I am quite impressed. You were right about the atmosphere providing the appropriate special effects as well. The second truck wasn't bad, but the first one was right on cue.

And what a nice ukulele! Was it amplified?
