Pc is the way to go with this game, you can make the graphics way better and I

find the controls alot easier. I'f you have the right equipment you can actually get the first silent hill on a pc. By the way nice speed run, I saw the whole thing I'm just commenting on your first video.

Darn, I thought you were going to show how to get the ten-star ranking. I've played through this game so many times, still trying since it came out to get that 10-star ranking. Beating the game in 49 minutes on easy is no trouble. Try beating it in under 2 hours, killing 70 enemies with melee & 70 with guns, on the hard difficulty, only taking a certain amount of damage, beating the bosses under the right times, getting all the extra weapons & not using any of them.

@rob9500z Yes it feels quite impossible too, but supposedly some people have actually done it. The reason I keep missing the perfect ranking is because I can't kill the bosses in short enough times and I keep dying too many times (you can only use two saves/continues!!). If you get the perfect ranking the beam saber and flamethrower are enhanced. One day B4 I die I will eventually get that ranking!

The only thing I don't like about Silent Hill 3 is that the monsters didn't have that terrifying effect they did in the other games. In Silent Hill 2 they would leap from beneath cars without warning, and in Silent Hill 5 they pop out of the gutters and scare you out of your seat. The monsters in this game just sort stumble around.

I get a kick outta watching speed run vids. I've only done a speed run on MGS3, but always wanted to do one on SH2. Decided I can't do one on a Silent Hill game tho, 'cos I just enjoy exploring the enviornments to much. They're half the fun in the games for me, and most times creepier then the monsters in the SH realm (with the exception of 2, where both creatures and eviornment freaked me out equally). For perfect speedrun you play on hard so you can run directly off the big hole at the start.

i give the general method for this 8/10 but theres room for improvements and on easy, well, excuse me but thats no good.

To me this seems to be one of the scariest silent hills games. SH4 though just messes with your head with the camera angles and the beginning nightmare.

SH1 never looked scary but SH2 looked rele suspenseful.

lol i played RE4 after i bought origins....for the PSP (its the same as ps2) ....and its funny that u compare it to RE4 ....maybe re2 or re3 but i wouldnt recall re4...oh and origins do suck in the storyline but it is quite scary as well...i only played silent hill 1 (that was back in 2002) and now origins....so i dont know how are other parts...but they are all good in their own way i guess

yah but... Konami's games always have the same style of scoring system, MGS and SH both would reward more points for beating with no saves, beating as fast as possible and beating it with not killing anything. In Silent Hill though you get different endings depending on how well you scored. Pretty nifty way to make replay value for a game like this.
