i know this might sound like a noob question but do u have to replace the fujita with the stock air system for Smog Checks??? i hear from some ppl that u dont and some say the fujita intake is illegal here in cali
how did u get sponsord jw. cuz I'm getting a 3.5 altima coupe dark gray in a couple weeks. and I might want to try and get performance parts and get sponsored by a couple ppl.
First thing, Join the web forums. Nicoclub and nissanclub. a lot of times the manufacturers will post on the sites that they are looking for a demo car to build parts off of. Second option is to go to meets and events where manufacturers will be, and start networking.
I'm actually at 261whp currently. I haven't dynoed recently since I put my Y-pipe in, but I suspect I'm about 270whp. FWD doesn't lose as much power as RWD does. We just have horrible traction problems off the line.
probably from the drive train loss associated with rear wheel drive vehicles. The altima dosen't lose as much power because it dosent have to travel a long distance
Fujita had advertised that they were looking for a test car to build the intake system. i contacted them, and offered to donate my car for testing and building. I got the first product free, and they use my car on their website to promote the gains, and I intern advertise for them on different forums and at car shows. I did the same with all my sponsors.
Networking. Going to car shows, talking to the owners and reps of the companies, and offering your car to them for a time frame for them to develop a part. most companies will give you the first part free or will only have you pay for the cost of the materials to build the parts, which a lot of times can be close to a 50% discount over what everyone else pays
Im wanting to put one on my 07 altima but have two questions, is this an easy do-it-yourself instal (e.g. no fabrocating to accomidate sensors, etc...) and does it void any powertrain warranties.
it would take the average DIYer about 10-15 mins to install. there is no need to fabrication needed for it to fit. warranty will not be voided (spoke to tech at dealership) unless the problem with your engine was caused by the intake. Which unless your car was underwater, I dont see what could get in to damage it.
270hp is what the motor puts out. not what is put to the ground. By the time all that power goes through the transmission, then to the axles and then to the wheels, it will be less than what the motor is putting out. this motor is now putting out close to 285-290hp
Thanks for the sponsorship! Im loving this intake. Any chance we can work out some kind of heatshield to go with it? Have Brian give me a call if interested. If not, I can fab one up to see if it will help.
Injen and Fujita are two seperate companies as far as Im aware. Even the design of the intakes are different. I never used the Injen, but its design to me is flawed. they never should have mounted that MAF sensor spot on the top. plus the heat shield doesnt really do anything on this car. all the heat from the motor still surrounds the filter even with the shield
sweet sound

Fujita is not carb legal. If you are in cali, you must switch back to your stock intake for smog. Or buy the K&N which is carb legal

Quick question I have an INJEN Intake on mine. Does the Fujita give you more power than the Injen?
I thought they would give you the same power since the parent company is Injen.
Thanks

Thanks for the feedback I am seriously thinking about trading my Injen for a Fujita... anyone willing to buy an Injen intake?
locooso 3 years ago
if it is cheap i'll buy, but i'm broke since gas prices are killing me, ehem.. US!!

Thats a huge gain from just a warm air intake, this car definitely has potential.
