why couldn't they just donate money without making a film and painting 24 huge paintings what will be condenced into only a second of movie time. that sounds like a huge unnecesery waste of time. like walking to fight cancer. if you just donate, then you woun't have to walk! and walking doesn't cure cancer!
Most of the stuff people do is a huge unnecessary waste of time in one way or another... especially the really interesting stuff.
In this case, though, as well as walking events, it's really just another form of advertising. If you make and market a film, or organize a big race, a lot of people will see it, remember it, and at some point hopefully do something for whatever cause we're talking about... such as donate money, quite possibly more than the money that went into the campaign.
What if you enjoy walking and have fun with all the people you are walking with? What if other people see all the walking people having fun and decide to see what is going on?
$1,000,000.01 Goal...no offense guys but why does it cost so much money to make this "1 second" film? seriously, what are you all doing with this money, you know the IRS looks into this kind of thing...i'm a contributor by the way...
@Awesomtastik Money donated to our film helps cover our production costs. Our non-profit's mission is to build a platform to create global collaboration and social change. Profits from our finished film (sale of art, DVDs, etc) will be donated to the Global Fund for Women. Future projects will address other social issues.
@ModernLoftFilms Aside from the film/documentary, we're building an online community that will continue to collaborate on non-profit projects after T1SF is done (visit collaborationfoundation(dot)org for info). This takes time/resources to build, but we're making progress. Also, our total $ raised covers 4 years of fundraising, and includes a lot of donated services like Apple computers, web hosting, office space, etc. You can follow our production blog or contact us w/ any questions. Thanks!
is it me or cant i find the 1 second film page on imdb?im sure i saw it a while ago i remember going on the forum but it seems not to be there anymore
IMDB removed the credits because they were fed up with updating them (there are over 9000 producers of The 1 Second Film now!) It is also rumored that their removal of The 1 Second Film credits suspiciously coincided with the launch of their resume service, which charged users more than $1 to get onto IMDB. It seems The 1 Second Film was a better bargain. :-) The creators of the film are working to get the producers back on there, though.
you guys are stupid its an artistic endeavor not something to entertain retards who only think of movies as being cool like transformers or some shit

hell yeah that's what it's all about. Why donate and do nothing when you can donate and have fun. Time's only wasted when you're not having fun
