I've gone back to WoW 4 times throughout 3 years now. I can gladly say I'm finally done with it. It's slowly killing itself with every xpac. @Michaelmop I'm a huge LOTR and LOTRO fan, but sadly-- the same thing is happening to LOTRO. It went free to play, and now it's pay to win. Turbine is pushing less content, and the content is lower in terms of quality. The game has changed for the worse since Shadows of Angmar.. I really miss SoA. But I don't think the game can ever get better since Turbine is now partnered with WarnerBros, and it's become a cash cow. Which is really sad, it was the best MMO I've ever played.

@Michaelmop I'm waiting for GW2, as well. I knew once this game F2P, it would eventually become a cash cow. They always do, unfortunately. The new expansion, "Riders of Rohan" was announced, and it does not sound good. They're adding companions to every class to make the game easier and to stop group play, like they've done in the past by nerfing group quests to solo quests. This game is now massively singleplayer. And the store doesn't support the game, it's the other way around.

@berserkerwinfile no...you will have an option to revive or resurect....if you revive, you will get minimum morale(hp) back so if mobs are close enough to aggro you'll just die again. Revive is on a 60 minute timer. If you rez, you pop up at a rez area, a circle of stones. You receive a will debuff that lasts for 10 minutes. The only time I've "died" is when I've screwed up a pull and got swarmed by mobs, otherwise I usually survive the fights fairly easy.

In feeling and epicness Lotro beats the crap out of any MMORPG. Personally it just hits me the most. The chillness, the views, music, laid back feeling. Playing Lotro feels more like a small vacation from life than a chore.

I just kind of hope they don't screw something now when F2P comes :P

Then if u click already a subscriber at the bottom a window pops up which shows what free to play players get and what subscribers get. Free to play get the starter area quest packs but no farther. I encourage all who are interested to check this out :)

its inevitable to bring up WoW when talking mmo's because of the undeniable fact that WoW is the juggernaut of the MMORPG world. i personally prefer LOTRO because of m deep and abiding love for Tolkien and Arda, my only complaint, which is really just a bit of constructive criticism is that the NPCs of the game are exceedingly bland! a bit of character model variety is most definitely in order. otherwise i LOVE this game:)

@lonelyqueen86 Exactly. I love WoW but I also played this game and I was very impressed with it. The graphics are good compared to most MMO's and the gameplay is very fun. A lot of games I have played get boring fast but this game didnt which is something else thats not always easy to find in MMO's. Very dynamic, intense at times, and always fun. Great game.

You just need the base game to play. You just won't have access to the expansion areas. If you DL the client, you get all the expansions but if you haven't paid for them, they're locked.

As for payment, you have $15 monthly, $10 every 3 months or $199 lifetime. If you can afford it and are serious about the game, I'd go for the lifetime.

Turbine games are half free, free to download and some free content. But they also have Paid content. With "Turbine Points" it is actually possible to buy all the content in the game, just means a lot of work.

In your comment, did you count in games that know what theyre up against with and try to offer something that WoW cant? For example: Warhammer online, which is all about PvP. LotRO, offering more roleplayish stroy-based MMO experience. EVE online, AION, Champions online, Bloodbowl, Earthrise and so on. I'm not telling WoW is a bad game, but since it's so popular there is more immature "lol noob" spammers than ever.

That's the thing, too many MMOs focus on one aspect. I think WoW has a nice balance between PvE and PvP. But you're right there are alot of retards in WoW, alot of it is in trade chat -_-. But WoW normally kills any other MMO i try. I played Warhammer for a few months and it almost instantly died when Wrath of the Lich king came out. Last time i checked all the server populations are still either low or medium. Simply too many people play WoW :(.

Actually the skirmish system he talks about can be used from lvl 30 (which doesn't take long) ^^ the mount changes will also add a cheaper mount for lvl 20 characters and the combat changes will work for everyone (obviously) so it's not just end-game content but ofc they can't add more to the story at lower lvls since it would mess up the lore.

Umm to be honest i played WoW before Aion which has crappy graphics effects compared to Aion, in Aion i never ever lagg, it takes maximum 10 seconds to log in and load new zones, in wow i lagg all the time in cities, logging in takes 1-2 mins
