  • Oh Manjula, I followed another recipe on the web that involved oil in the dough and then frying and then baking in the oven, but this was SO much better! Mine turned out light and crispy, and I did put some coriander (cilantro) in the pani along with the mint, and I only used two green chilis, but I used all the rest of the spices and tamarind paste is was so good! Thank you!!

  • thats not pani puri u have to put potato in at well thats how u normaly make 1

  • I love pani puris, us pakis call the gol gappay. Make them at home a bit differently. Gonna try this recipe inshallah they will turn out good.

  • I have always been using store bought Pani Puri masala to make the pani. It used to taste good or atleast me and my hubby felt so. But today I ran out of the masala and had already made plans to make pani puri. I decided to follow your recipe aunty and believe me the pani was much much tasty than the store bought one.   • Manjula ji! I just wanted to say that your recipes are really easy to follow and I am very impressed by your pooris! I remember trying to make them about 17 years ago ( I was about 13) but they didn't swell up so I ended up with just crisp like things. I am going to out, get the material, and make them today!   • hi aunty..i was watching your pani puri receipe....my pani puri turned out delicious my brother loves pani puri..he makes sure i have them made in stock all the time...thank you for the receipe..if you dont mind i would like to suggest you to get a tortilla maker ...this will help you alot...you won't have to roll out individual puris...this will save you lot of time and u can continuously make puris....thank you again

    bake them for abt 20 mins at 200 f..in the oven after taking them off the oil, it shuld go crispy

  • don't you have to add salt to the dough? other recipe required salt. and they also added oil why was that?

    Im one of those who love to eat pani puri a lot. may be on a daily basis.

    I stay out of india and pani puri is not at all available there.. my family try to make it but they cant make the PURI ,, but they make really tasty pani,,,.. One day i woke up and i told them i will searc something on youtube. And this was the first clip in this list of pani puri. we try exact technic shown in the video and to our surprise we just make more bigger puris

  • That was cool. Looks like quite a bit of work tho. I'm going to Uttam Sagar and having someone else make them for 15 - 20 rupees. Yum yum yum

    If puri is fried on hoigh heat ot they are roll thick puri will not be crispy.

    Can be few different reasons, puries were rolled very thin, cloth was too wet or too dry, oil was not hot enough.

    you should considering using one of those tortila machien for puris .. you plug it and then just put dough in there.

    it makes amazing puri and saves you lot of time. :) and they always end up GOL.

  • hi Manjula aunty,can u tell me why my poori become soft later 2-3 minutes after remove from oil ? I made it same as u shown. when it was in oil, was crunchy.

    7) salt to taste

    8) lemon juice 2tsp

    9) Cold chilled water about 4-5 cup as lite u want..

    For more taste u can add extra above content.. like rock salt, green chillies , jaljeera powder, salt...

  • Opps by mistake post comment pressed... Anyways I am continuing with the posting... Here if u would try the authentic mumbai taste then the recipie is here:

    1) 1 bunch of clintro washed and cleaned with sticks removed... u can use the the sticks which are soft..

    2) Phudina leaves aka mint leaves about 3-4 strings with leaves.. cleaned and washed... this will be about of 10- 14 leaves

    3) Rock salt aka kala namak about taste or 1/2tsp

    4) jal jira powder 1 tsp

    5) Green chilies as per ur taste

    i made the golgappas but it was hard and didnt puffued up mush and the taste was not like v want,,and even frm inside it was sticky though i fried it for long..and wat is fine sojji ...the sojji v bought from lulu hyper market ..it was like grainy type(dany daar)rosted..plz tell me wat should i do..i triede ur lots of recipes u r very good plz help me.

  • You need to use fine sooji, sooji should not be very grainy and roasted.

  • from where can i find the soji of this type and what should i say to shop keeper abt it while purchazing it.coz i said once n he said that there no fine soji

  • most of the north indian stores in US will have fine sooji.. south indian stores usually have rava which is rather coarse and grainy.
