  • So... it'll come

  • If you look at great filmmakers and movies throughout history, many of them either weren't nominated or lost to movies that are now looked down upon. Easiest example is Scorsese.

  • Good grief... the audience is full of ass-kissers. Why can't these fanboys do what Nolan, their beloved idol, is doing: Be professional!

  • nolan should have won the original screenplay award for memento

  • Nobody gives credit to Jonathan Nolan.

  • Nolan is a fucking Genius .. They're saying he's the next Kubrick ....I agree !!

  • @philiboylondon Best Picture Produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas Best Original Screenplay - Nolan. Those would count as nominations for nolan.

  • can't wait for dark knight rises!

  • well don't forget hitchcock never won an oscar either

  • SEAN LONG LOL

  • @keller500 I know I noticed that too! lol

  • Here's Nolan's ultimate filmmaking secret revealed... He drinks lots of water.

  • Hey everyone give a thumbs up to the comment below about Nolan not getting an Oscar nomination, so everyone knows what bullshit the oscars are.

  • Biggest scandal in Oscar history that Nolan didn't even get a NOMINATION for his masterpiece.

  • @PHILIBOYLONDON He got a nomination for screenplay in Memento and Inception. He's a great writer, so I am sure he's rewarded well in that way of seeing it. I assume you're referring to directing...time will tell. Oscars cannot please everybody, but I did agree with the idea of being "snubbed" for directing.

  • @PHILIBOYLONDON yes he did. he got picture cinematography scrennplay editing sound...he got a fuckload.

  • @Pairamedik No Inception got nominations, Christopher Nolan DIDNT. Big difference.

  • everyone screams for Joe

  • Chris Nolan is a genius, that way he make movies are just so unique and fantastic, for me is Chris the best Filmmaker ever !!!!!!

  • Haha, he needs to touch his water bottles :) He's done that in other interviews. It's okay, Chris. Better to be hydrated and occupied, while sitting for that long ^_^

  • Haha, he needs to touch his water bottles :) He's done that in other interviews. It's okay, Chris. Better to be hydrated and occupied, while sitting for that long ^_^

  • 3d is overrated.

  • What's great about this guy is compared to some directors, he really hasn't released that many movies, because HE MAKES THEM RIGHT!

  • @malows1234 What a stupid and ignorant thing to say. Christopher Nolan is a brilliant director, and to base his entire technique on the fact of the absence of blood is incredibly illogical. Everything this man has done is directorial brilliance and absolutely magnificent...

  • I love Nolan, such a master. Memento, The Prestige, Inception, The Dark Knight... Just can't wait for the next one.

  • He's so freakin ocd with that water bottle

  • Comment removed

  • Lucid Dreaming is the coolest thing you can ever do. The term "real" needs to seriously be addressed as a culture. If the average person has 1,000 dreams annually and Im 20... that is an estimated 21,000 dreams. 21,000 in which I have only been able to recognize Im dreaming 300+ times. Thats how REAL they are. Understand one concept that Lucid Dreaming, and Astral projection (Separation of spirit and body) once achieved they prove beyond any shadow of ad doubt in an afterlife. Do it, and see.

  • Who brings a baby to a interview like this? Honestly.

  • @CaliforniaJoker1 lol. Probably a single dad...

  • @malows1234 I think it's harder to not use blood

  • Great interview!.. to bad about the douchebags yapping in the background..

  • viewer numero 66,666 :P

  • I love how Nolan's films can be considered as a family collaboration.

  • they love that water bottle lol

  • inception is not a new film its a new genre!

  • his british accent is .... different

  • I've seen Inception 9 times

  • I find it ironic Nolan made one of the best reality-questioning movies thus far ever made (imo), yet seems like an immensely self-assured guy. Up to the point that I find his self-assurance quite disarming. Either that, or he's very arrogant, but somehow I just don't think that.

  • @Redspy27 He doesn't seem like the type of guy who makes movies because he wants to get a ton of money or wants to please people. When you hear him talk about how he makes his films, he makes it sound like he is making this for himself, and who cares if somebody thinks it's bad? He made the film the way he wanted too, and he is proud of it. Screw everybody else's opinions

  • He sure likes his bottle of water!

  • water's good :)

  • 3d sucks

  • nolan: "3D? nah."

  • @madlib23 another reason why Nolan is one of my favorite directors

  • 7:59-8:09 Look at his reaction!

(What that guy said, however,is so right!)

  • I really like his reserved attitude when someone tells him how great he is. He really doesn't want to be a role model and that's exactly the right attitude because you can never become a great director by just looking up to others. You need to look inside yourself just as he said ...

  • No the Film is 5 star excellent...yer Tom Hardy didnt get any applause but he has been my favorite actor since i saw him play bill sykes . I didn't think anyone could have followed the great Oliver Read and got away with it...But Tom Hardy did a great job as he has in all his TV and Movie work....if there is anyone looking for some of his best work look for The Take and also Wuthering Heights and of cause Bronson. Tom Hardy will be one of the greatest actors ever...mark my words!

  • Nolan = One who can rid Hollywood of its unoriginality, inanity & condescending attitude towards its movie-goers intellect!

  • @ 1:29 - She mentions Tom Hardy and nobody applauds. I bet you a million bucks if all those nerds knew he was going to be in the next Batman movie then all of a sudden they would go crazy when they heard his name. I liked Tom before the whole Nolan fad when he was on the show Bronson. I bet now in the next 6 months everyone will say he's their new favorite actor just cuz he will be in Batman.

  • genius....genius....genius

  • Why bring a singing baby to a film event??

  • @pibitopoxi 8:02-8:06 is an example of a typical Nolan fanboy. I admire him as a film-maker (looking forward to the DVD release of Inception on Dec 7, even if it's well beyond my budget), but it's not extreme. What are the film's chances at the Oscars? Well, you don't know how unpredictable the Academy can be, and the Best Picture noms are gonna be some of the toughest choices to make - Inception, The King's Speech, The Social Network, Shutter Island, 127 Hours, Another Year, Black Swan, OMG!!

  • But Why pick Zack Snyder to do superman? That is one of the worst guys you can choose.

  • @MusicVideoKing23 I know right?

  • @MusicVideoKing23 Christopher Nolan is the ultimate idol. I simply love him and he's the reason I wanna be a filmmaker when I grow up. But why pick Zack Snyder?

  • @MusicVideoKing23 why dont you wait til the film comes out and then judge him you prick.

  • This guy is the beeeeest !

  • Christopher Nolan is the shit I am a very big fan of his movies for example I liked the Prestige the whole magic world thing was tight.

  • @lakbpm816 D'ya want a medal?

  • i've seen memento 6 times now

  • @turnuon hows memento

  • @fuckgd1 it was good ...

  • @christm5 they shot with 65mm for some sequences also, and it is possible for up to 6000 lines to be drawn from 35mm film with advanced technology - where imax is about 7000 lines. So the resolution shouldnt really be a big problem!

  • #OMG a goocl movіe to clownload it vshmone.сom

  • Christopher Nolan is quickly becoming one of the elite directors in Hollywood.. As if he wasn't already.

  • @deenzilla i think he was considered amazing just after making imsomnia and memento, all the newer films have just cemented his awesomeness

  • @deenzilla i actually think he is the best action/blow-mind movie maker ever

  • @deenzilla

I agree, but we must be careful here with these kind of labels.

If he ever makes an average movie, he will may not be able to live it down...

  • Answered that last question very well, good wisdom thar Chris.

  • "Come to kookìca" and "Kick our ass for our idioitic ways to promote through real sounding comments" .

  • @jbody19 Lol dude those comments get me soo fuckin annoyed! Its not even real people posting lol its just some stupid bots.

  • while I didn't like Inception, Chris is definitely probably the classiest director I've ever seen.

  • inception was so pointless.

  • @EdwardNygma1 you're a retard..that's probably the reason you didn't like it..coz you didn't get it.

  • @jbody19 there was nothing to get or follow. it was a pile of randomosity.

  • @matureguy65 Did you rip your review off of Ebert? Cause he said the exact same thing in his review. I agree with the opinion by the way, just wasn't mine originally.

  • Comeon Chris put life back into James Bond

  • Inception is the best fucking blockbuster ive ever seen, its so clever.

  • @EIricbrother why she have diff last name

  • Nolan´s face at 8:02 - 8:06 was like " Oh come on men, not again."

  • Oh Christopher Nolan you are so suave. I think I am slightly attracted to him!? Not to mention, he's one of my favourite directors.

  • @sureshbabu513 You HAVE to see The Prestige! It's one of his best ones!

  • Nolan and Zimmer would kick Chuck Norris' ass!

  • the full fìlm is on my profìle if u want to seé it¸

  • <---- t0 Watchh this m0v!ee

  • what the hell is wondercon?

  • Chris is such a straight faced character. You hardly see him smile or even express any other facial emotion. Could he be a highly advanced android.....?

  • I dont like his new movie because its just another random movie, not as good as the magic movie he made before... and i also dont see any sort of 'mindfuck' in it. the story is very linear and there are no real story twists at all, that i guess, everybody was prepared for.

  • lol chris looks mad

  • CHRISTOPHER NOLAN. THE FBI AMERICA ARE REALLY AWARE OF YOU BEING IN MY MIND AND DREAMS. WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE PERSON. I DON;T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DIDN;T CALL ME. IN SECRET. I WAS THERE FOR REAL SECUIRTY DEVELOPMENT REASONS. WITH SOMEONE. YOU CALL ME PLEASE ASAP.

  • nolan reminds me of maucalay culkin

  • Wow... It must be soo hard submersing your ego and keep it under cotrol when people stroke and pet it soo much... but Nolan does a good job. Pretty down to earth person who's only about the movie quality...gotta love that.

  • Christopher Nolan is a genious!!

  • the dark knight used to be his best film

now, its INCEPTION!!! :) and boy, the movie kicks ass, one of the best movies ever made

  • i loved the part where she says @hitrecordjoe was "just brilliant" =) gave me goosebumps!

  • Tom Hardy for Riddler

  • haha, Nolan looks so smug. :)

  • @PekanChan Iol, I think anyone would be smug if they were christopher nolan

  • Wow.. I saw this movie at Hi5movies (dot) com. Good quality...

  • Wow.. I saw this movie at Hi5movies (dot) com. Good quality...

  • the both seem nervous, no wonder, those kinds of press junkets are intimidating

  • Inception is what happens when a big budget blockbuster is done RIGHT. How rare is it to have a director/writer that can write one of the most ingenious, intricate and thought provoking stories since Kubrick's 2001, and to ice the proverbial cake; use a big budget wisely and effectively, with some of the most mind blowing practical special effects (an increasing rarity) mixed with top quality visual effects. This movie is a masterpiece, Nolan is only getting better with each film.

  • @christm5 Yes it's true, Faggot

  • funny the woman asks the question about "twisted" women characters in his films, and INCEPTION would have answered that women's question.

  • I love how cool and reserved Nolan is around the fanboys with their gushing, unqualified praise. When that idiot says 'Dark Knight is the greatest film of all time', you can clearly see him give an intake of breath, thinking 'Don't be stupid. Of course it's not the greatest film *of all time.*' This is why he makes films and they don't. They don't know any restraint or nuance.

  • @TheConciseStatement well I agree but thats more of an american thing, you guys can be easily excitable with all your whooping and shouting, chris is the typical reserved englishman

  • @BoxxyFan Actually it panned to a black screen, which doesn't confirm what you said nor deny it as you don't see it fall or keep spinning!

  • the fanboy nerds made me cringe but good interview.

  • @christm5 72mm can be shot for IMAX fuck this 35 shit

  • chris likes his water

who's the guy on his phone at 4:50 lol.

  • I wanted to start an applause when the film ended. Didn't have the courage 'dough. Anyway, congrats to Christopher for making incredible movies.

  • I've seen inception 3 times now.

  • @ledzeppie ME 2 lol

  • @ledzeppie ME TOO!!! ;o)

  • @ledzeppie 4

  • @ledzeppie same

  • @ledzeppie saw it 19 times

  • @zephonlucifer lol dweeb.

  • @maiwandi2 Why does that make me a dweeb? Because I was the one running the IMAX projector? Yeah, kind of hard nto to watch a movie when you're volunteering your time to a new theater. Had to watch Avatard 6 times as well- you cant cut scenes out so Id just place a card over the projector whenever the USB sex scene happened.

  • Ridley Scott, Stanley Kubrick, Terrence Malick and how? I can't make it out? Anyone, please?

  • @ScorseseKubrick I think he said Nicholas Rove or something like that

  • @ScorseseKubrick

    nicholas roeg

  • @christm5 Stuff shot on IMAX looks great in IMAX theaters, and 35MM theaters. It's easy to scale down. Its when you shoot 35mm and upscale it to IMAX that stuff starts to fall apart. It looks like Nolan might be shooting batman 3 all IMAX. That would be awesome.

  • @nathant you can shoot 72MM for IMAX also.... fuck that 35 blown up shit

  • @nathant i dont like IMAX becuz the screen is wayyy too big and i cant see a dam thing that is going on

  • @nathant i heard john woo wants to make an action film all in IMAX too so that sounds great aswell

  • Thanks for posting this, I missed his talk and was gutted.

  • I still so blown away by Inception... Chris Nolan is genius!!!!

  • emma thomas is a babe. i've been a fan of nolan since memento. brilliant man.

  • To all you who uploaded it fuck you. I'd rather support a genius director like Nolan instead of freebooting so a million other wankers can freeboot too.

  • holy crap, i had no idea they were at wondercon this year. i would've gone to the panel if i knew. oh well.

  • nolan is one of the most intelligent directors of the past decade he keeps going like this he could be up there with kubrick and other of the greatest directors of all time

  • okay just uploaded the whole movíe to my user páge

  • Even Nolan is embarrassed by the fellating Nolan fanboys. He looked like he secretly wanted to slap the shit out of the nerd at 8.00.

  • @gingerbreadface its because he's English. They hate compliments. My husband is the same way.

  • Nolan is up there with Kubrick already. M. Night Shyalmalan could have went down that road but he has fallen movies ago.

  • ive got the entire fílm in my chánnel check it out.

  • guys check out my chánnel ive put up the fúll movíe

  • Genius ...... (As much as us all, visionaries in our own visions)

  • As much as i hate boasting, Im in love with film making and In the future I'm pretty confident I will be successful.... But FUCK!..... Nolan... I'm so fn envious of your glorious work man, seriously... I got have a beer with him sometime...

  • god damn, this man is BRILLIANT

  • think about all the people that are going to be inspired to make films by him. wow.

  • Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon levitt, will be getting inundated with hollywood offers thick and fast!!

  • @widerling yeah they were both amazing in the film. Tom Hardy was hilarious and Levitt's anti-gravity fight scene was amazing

  • this movie absolutely blew my mind. the concept involved in the movie is on another level, you can't even compare it to other movies.

  • A lot of people are going to get mad at me for this but Avatar did for movies the same thing that Star Wars did for movies. Neither had a great storyline but the visuals were spectacular. Nolan said that Star Wars influenced him. Imagine the young people who saw Avatar and grow up to be producers and how amazing they will look.

  • @yelir92 I agree

  • @yelir92 you are totaly right.

  • Awesome movie.

  • Just saw Inception and it absolutely amazing. my mind = blown!!!

  • MovePix com -- Watch Inception Full Movie in High Quality

  • Is it just me or Nolan speaks freemasonry through his pores.

  • This Movie looks great but i think nolan fans are overrating him more than ever...i mean...he's no bergman. I take him more as a great craftsman and logistic making full use of given resources than talented director and the funny thing is that if he said he'd like to film a Troll 2 remake people would still go apeshit and be orgasmic about his next project. I find such blind admiration a bit unhealthy

  • He says that IMAX would be big a problem of shooting the film, but wherever I look Inception is going to hit the IMAX cinemas as well. I'm confused. And he also says that shooting with 35mm anamorphic (which is standard) can easily be converted to IMAX? How so? Isn't the IMAX shot in 70mm? Which will give twice as much frames per second (48fps)? Please help!

  • @cinemats IMAX is still 24FPS. IMAX is significantly higher resolution than film. It's also 4:3, a different aspect ratio (width vs height) than film.

The problem comes when mixing the two. I still think if you want to shoot an IMAX film, shoot an IMAX film. If you want to shoot a 35mm film, shoot a 35mm film. Don't shoot both - your constantly mixing back and forth, and the effect can be jarring. The Dark Knight suffered from this, but he did use it wisely - city wide shots and action scenes.
