This kind of humour, might be above some peoples level of intelligence I fear, but I have always loved the cleverly written comedic sketches from the Two Ronnies.
As usual, an excellent sketch from the two Ronnies. Almost all comedy pokes fun at race, nationality, religion, political belief, appearance, social standing, gender or level of intelligence. If you have a problem with that then don't watch comedy.
I think the greatest comedy, such as here, is not only funny but also touches on subjects which are seriously thought provoking.
I think a forum such as this is perfect for not only showing your appreciation of the great comics but also to discuss related and relevant issues which arise out of watching it.
A lot can be learnt from the greats and also from commrnenters who share their reactions and reflections.
I am grateful I do not have to take life so seriously as to get in a heavy discussion about something so funny as the Two Ronnies. I think it must be miserable to think every one is out to get you.

2. It does not follow that because you dislike a thing or concept that you must also dislike anyone who subscribes to it. You might hate pizza and maths; doesn't mean you also have to hate pizza fans and mathematicians.

Condoms aren't a cure for AIDS...but they are an extremely effective preventative measure. I think a forum such as this is perfect for not only showing your appreciation of the great comics but also to discuss related and relevant issues which arise out of watching it.

I respect anyone's beliefs - in whatever they wish, as long as it doesnt effect me or others. If all were to do so it would mean the disappearance of racism and other evils inherent in coexistence.
The trouble is that many beliefs are, by their own definition, exclusively devoted to spreading to and cohercing others to adopt them. Therein, I think, lies the danger.

Amazing how Ronnies genius for comedy turns what could have been a nasty anti-semitic caricature into a warm, humourous portrayal. Full of compassionate identification with the orthodox Jew, but at the same time ironic and just super funny. In short theres a lot of Jewish humour in this sketch!

Also, the KKK is not like the class of all mathematicians in the world. The KKK is or was devoted to white supremacy. Mathematicians are not necessarily supporters of maths supremacy. "Jewish culture" is not like the KKK, for the reason I gave above - it's too diffuse and diverse. It's actually both ill-informed and illogical, for these reasons:
Reason 1: ill-informed. There is no single, homogenous "Jewish culture". Woody Allen has little or nothing in common with Neturei Karta, which in turn has little or nothing in common with Yisrael Beiteinu.
2. It does not follow that because you dislike a thing or concept that you must also dislike anyone who subscribes to it. You might hate pizza and maths; doesn't mean you also have to hate pizza fans and mathematicians.

Just because you think that all religions are stupid, doesn't mean that you are obliged to be anti-semitic. Anti-semitism is the hatred of Jews in particular. I don't like religion much, but that doesn't mean that I hate everybody who happens to be religious; I don't like conservative politics but I happen to have (a few) friends who are way more right-wing than I am. Are you as critical of other religions? Do you also hate Buddhists, Catholics, Methodists, Muslims, Baha'i, Mennonites?

Uh, I think you'll find that's true. It's not a cure. Essentially, it won't stop AIDS existing, it'll just stop children from being born and potentially wipe out a huge chunk of the African population. Besides, isn't it shallow to say "you have HIV/AIDS and there's nothing we can do about but don't worry, you can get your end away if you wear this"?

Condoms aren't a cure for AIDS...but they are an extremely effective preventative measure. Babyshambler is absolutely right in pointing out that the Catholic Church is complicit in the spreading of AIDS by denouncing the use of condoms. It is despicably naive to expect millions of people to avoid STD's with nothing more than abstinence to protect them.
As for condoms "killing off the population", that would be the case...if they were used for 100% of sexual encounters, which is pure fantasy.
