There is only so much you can train a dog to do. Through her education and expierence she has picked up a few things on her own, such as shaking that decoy out of her way !!!! never seen a dog do that !!!! wow !!!!

This is amazing. We have a black lab named teal that loves to duck hunt as well. shes 13 now, but still if your alarm goes off at any time before 5 am she is waiting for you and wont let you leave without her. it must be something in the name that makes a great waterfowl dog.

Man Teal was awsome...what a drive she had...this video made my eyes water...but during the video smiles came to my face just watching her with that drive she had, she's like my Chocolate Lab Maggie...Mag had 2 ACL operations since Jan2011 and i've had her out running and trainning and these operations have not stopped her at all...she's laying down next to me while i'm typing this and i had to kneel down and give her a hug and a kiss on the nose....this video really hit me hard..Honkers48
@Honkers48 hits me hard every time i watch it. i had a yellow lab pass away a few years ago. lime disease led to kidney failure and i slowly watched my dog just slip away. it was a horrible thing to watch and i hope no one will ever have to go through wat i went through. she gave me a gift though. the dog i have now was born on my birthday which was 1 month after she passed. if that isnt a sign i dont know wat is.

Hey just Gonna say that I guide hunts in Arkansas and I've got a dog named teal and I'd be torn apart without him. I've also got one of chris aikens pups out of one of his champion dogs that I would hate to lose
i had a black lab named jazmin she was all of 50 pounds soaking wet but she was the best little waterfowl huntin dog ive ever hunted over. she passed away last july. she died in my arms and my dad had to pry me off of her. and this last fall i could hardly even go hunting without tearing up. she made some of the most amazing retrieves ive ever seen in my life. and i would do any thing to have 1 day of hunting with her RIP JAZMIN <3

Man, you just made a grown man cry! I have a Chocolate Lab named Dale that acts a lot like Teal. He's a true duck hunter. He knows what the mission is when you point the gun in the air, before you ever pull the trigger. He watches every bird hit the water and looks back at me for the 'OK' to go. He takes care of business. You just convinced me to video as much as I can. I have a couple on here now. Thanks for sharing this! Teal was a brilliant dog, I can tell. She's hunting right now!!!

I've seen this video, and loved it but I guess it didn't hit home , and then I watched my 8 month old yellow lab male " Zeuss" get run over today, and die in a friends arms. In 8 months he brought so much joy into my family. He had already retrieved tons of birds for us, and was just starting to shine. I think he taught me more than I taught him since he was my first retriever. So hard to even think about getting another dog ever. R.I.P. Zeuss, I love ya Zeusscerdo!!

Without dogs, mankind may not have made it. How many dogs must have given their lives to some beast while the cave dwellers fled. Life would be so empty for me without my dog. My black lab is an old timer now and although he has never hunted, he has been such a wonderful companion for 16 wonderful years next to me. Anyone who has never owned a dog of some kind has never experienced that special love. I am 70yrs. old and I have always owned a dog of some kind. Dogs are a special gift to man.

Amazing video I subscribed I've lost several dogs in my life and it never gets any easier. Put a tear in my eye. Im go give my brittany pup some love now. Dogs are truly a man's best friend. Very fitting tribute brotha! That will make a grown man shed a tear. There is something special about all of our "biscuit eaters"... as frustrating and stubborn as they can be, they put it all together when it counts and it's something that will not be forgotten.
My first lab Misty gave me so many memories in the field I can't even begin to count. She also gave me another 6 years at home before my dad and I had to have her put down because of a stroke. She was 17 when she passed. her namesake is giving me the same memories and joy. I only wish they could live forever because it is so hard to say goodbye to them. Rest In Peace Misty. Know that Misty II is doing your name proud. I hope to hunt with you again in heaven some day.

This video really touched me, i am 14, i lost my dog, her name was tango, she was an amazing retreiver,me and my dad lost her to a tumor. some people just dont know how close we get to these dogs out in the feild. some think they kno because they get close at home but they just dont know. everymorning at 3:30 waking up together, packing up together, launching together, riding together, calling together, hunting together. its in a class all by itself, its unlike anything. its like another person, like a brother
She was a hell of a good dog, I have a couple of Echo's video's with her in it. My Lab Jed is gonna be ten this november, he's my second Lab. Harley was my first lab, he gave me 14 years of memories that only guys like us understand. These dogs give us everything they got, with no excuses, and do it with a passion and determination that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Thats what makes them so incredible. One of the most touching things I have ever seen. I just lost my girl roxsey on 1/1/10 and she was only 6 months old. She was on her way to being a great gun dog. I did get to see her make her first retrieve in a real hunt though. I will never forget that day I have never been prouder except the day my kids were born. God bless all hunters and their dogs!!!
I can only imagine what its like to lose your hunting buddy, your companion, the one hunting buddy that wont call you up late at night and tell you they cant go with you in the morning. You put your heart and soul into loving, caring, and not to mention all of the countless hours you have spent training. When the time comes it takes a part of your soul with them.

This is a great tribute freddy, this video realy tells the truth about the ralationship between a hunter and their retreiver. My dad, brother, and I have a chocolate lab named Brutus, he's going on 6 years old. He's been the best retreiver I've ever had and the saying "dog is mans best friend" realy explains me and brutus's relationship.i don't know what I'll do when we lose him but it's going to be realy hard.
I don't comment very much if ever, but damn! I hunt with a friend that's got the Lab (Hunter), I have the Brittney (Goldie). Hunter has been our Teal. Passed 9 years old and still going strong, God bless. But watching your video, I realize we are going to have to brace ourselves for the lost when it comes. Man Thats got to be hard. You are losing a great dog, Member of the crew, and a family member. I had a dog like that but she fell through the ice and never could get out. Nothing Scarier than watching your dog work itself to the point they give up. Great Video.
Great Tribute to a great family member. I've felt your pain as 3yrs ago I had to put down mine after a long and frustrating battle with seizures. I will always appreciate every session or hunt, every second of frustration, and every second of feeling proud for and of him and what he had become. She appeared to have been a great hunting buddy and will always remain a loved member of the family! Sorry for your loss! This is a great way for her to "live on" in yours and everyones heart!

loosing a dog has to be the hardest thing a man can go through. The only way a dog is happy is if you are happy. and all they want do is please. And when you talk to your buddy he/she know exactly what you are saying but they use their eyes and body language to talk back.
I was once at the vet for a checkup on my dog. There was a family there who were putting down their lab from cancer. the family goes in the back room and come back out in pain. the nurse says to the little boy....

sorry for ur dog. i had a yellow lab pass away this past july from lime disease. she stopped eating except for me. i had fed her for a few months and then she just got real bad and passed away. i got another yellow lab from the same bloodline that was born on my birthday and i plan on training her as a duck dog.
I first seen this a few months ago... And cried my eyes out.. I went out and held my lab and hoped this day would never come.. Today I lost my lab, Slim Shady... He will always be remembered.. and the pain will linger... Thank you for your tribute... Big Shoes to fill, my last words to Slim... We all miss you Slim...
when my dog got lime disease i would take her for a walk and just sit somewhere and stare at the sky hoping my lab would live for a few more years(she was 7). ended up losing her a few weeks later. for a few days i would sit by her grave thinking about all the good memories.

I grew up hunting with Win-Toba kennels Cyclone Sam (R.I.P), a NAHRA grandmaster hunter and 1993 NAHRA nationals qualifier! We are truly blessed to train and hunt with dogs like Sam and Teal. It's a special thing; the bond between a hunter and his bird dog, and this video sums it up perfectly! R.I.P Teal and awesome video guys!

i had a black lab named jazmin she was all of 50 pounds soaking wet but she was the best little waterfowl huntin dog ive ever hunted over. she passed away last july. she died in my arms and my dad had to pry me off of her. and this last fall i could hardly even go hunting without tearing up. she made some of the most amazing retrieves ive ever seen in my life. and i would do any thing to have 1 day of hunting with her RIP JAZMIN <3

Man, you just made a grown man cry! I have a Chocolate Lab named Dale that acts a lot like Teal. He's a true duck hunter. He knows what the mission is when you point the gun in the air, before you ever pull the trigger. He watches every bird hit the water and looks back at me for the 'OK' to go. He takes care of business. You just convinced me to video as much as I can. I have a couple on here now. Thanks for sharing this! Teal was a brilliant dog, I can tell. She's hunting right now!!!

I've seen this video, and loved it but I guess it didn't hit home , and then I watched my 8 month old yellow lab male " Zeuss" get run over today, and die in a friends arms. In 8 months he brought so much joy into my family. He had already retrieved tons of birds for us, and was just starting to shine. I think he taught me more than I taught him since he was my first retriever. So hard to even think about getting another dog ever. R.I.P. Zeuss, I love ya Zeusscerdo!!

Without dogs, mankind may not have made it. How many dogs must have given their lives to some beast while the cave dwellers fled. Life would be so empty for me without my dog. My black lab is an old timer now and although he has never hunted, he has been such a wonderful companion for 16 wonderful years next to me. Anyone who has never owned a dog of some kind has never experienced that special love. I am 70yrs. old and I have always owned a dog of some kind. Dogs are a special gift to man.

Amazing video I subscribed I've lost several dogs in my life and it never gets any easier. Put a tear in my eye. Im go give my brittany pup some love now. Dogs are truly a man's best friend. A hunting dog is truly a partner for life. Im sure Teal is watch you Livin the Dream hunt after hunt. While she has a sky full of ducks just wait to hunt again with her buddy.

My first lab Misty gave me so many memories in the field I can't even begin to count. She also gave me another 6 years at home before my dad and I had to have her put down because of a stroke. She was 17 when she passed. her namesake is giving me the same memories and joy. I only wish they could live forever because it is so hard to say goodbye to them. Rest In Peace Misty. Know that Misty II is doing your name proud. I hope to hunt with you again in heaven some day.

This video really touched me, i am 14, i lost my dog, her name was tango, she was an amazing retreiver,me and my dad lost her to a tumor. She was 11 when we had to put her down :(, good video, we really get attached to our dogs. Like they say " a mans best friend". sorry for the loss, rest in peace teal

some people just dont know how close we get to these dogs out in the feild. some think they kno because they get close at home but they just dont know. everymorning at 3:30 waking up together, packing up together, launching together, riding together, calling together, hunting together. its in a class all by itself, its unlike anything. its like another person, like a brother

She was a hell of a good dog, I have a couple of Echo's video's with her in it. My Lab Jed is gonna be ten this november, he's my second Lab. Harley was my first lab, he gave me 14 years of memories that only guys like us understand. These dogs give us everything they got, with no excuses, and do it with a passion and determination that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Thats what makes them so incredible. Sorry for your loss brother, I know nothing I can say will make it easier

One of the most touching things I have ever seen. I just lost my girl roxsey on 1/1/10 and she was only 6 months old. She was on her way to being a great gun dog. I did get to see her make her first retrieve in a real hunt though. I will never forget that day I have never been prouder except the day my kids were born. God bless all hunters and their dogs!!!

I can only imagine what its like to lose your hunting buddy, your companion, the one hunting buddy that wont call you up late at night and tell you they cant go with you in the morning. You put your heart and soul into loving, caring, and not to mention all of the countless hours you have spent training. When the time comes it takes a part of your soul with them.

if you can watch this video and not have a tear come to your eyes then you just dont understand the bond that duck hunters have with their dogs. im 17 and me and my dad almost lost our 3 yr. old lab Daisey to parvo this year. Ive seen teal work and this is a great tribute to an even better dog.

This is a great tribute freddy, this video realy tells the truth about the ralationship between a hunter and their retreiver. My dad, brother, and I have a chocolate lab named Brutus, he's going on 6 years old. He's been the best retreiver I've ever had and the saying "dog is mans best friend" realy explains me and brutus's relationship.i don't know what I'll do when we lose him but it's going to be realy hard.

I don't comment very much if ever, but damn! I hunt with a friend that's got the Lab (Hunter), I have the Brittney (Goldie). Hunter has been our Teal. Passed 9 years old and still going strong, God bless. But watching your video, I realize we are going to have to brace ourselves for the lost when it comes. I hope I can do as good a job with our version of a tribute video as you have. Not to be mushy, but I'm a 46 year old man and this tribute to a fine animal is hard to watch without a tear!!!!!

Man Thats got to be hard. You are losing a great dog, Member of the crew, and a family member. I had a dog like that but she fell through the ice and never could get out. Nothing Scarier than watching your dog work itself to the point they give up. Great Video.

Great Tribute to a great family member. I've felt your pain as 3yrs ago I had to put down mine after a long and frustrating battle with seizures. I will always appreciate every session or hunt, every second of frustration, and every second of feeling proud for and of him and what he had become. She appeared to have been a great hunting buddy and will always remain a loved member of the family! Sorry for your loss! This is a great way for her to "live on" in yours and everyones heart!

loosing a dog has to be the hardest thing a man can go through. The only way a dog is happy is if you are happy. and all they want do is please. And when you talk to your buddy he/she know exactly what you are saying but they use their eyes and body language to talk back.
I was once at the vet for a checkup on my dog. There was a family there who were putting down their lab from cancer. the family goes in the back room and come back out in pain. the nurse says to the little boy....

sorry for ur dog. i had a yellow lab pass away this past july from lime disease. she stopped eating except for me. i had fed her for a few months and then she just got real bad and passed away. i got another yellow lab from the same bloodline that was born on my birthday and i plan on training her as a duck dog.

I first seen this a few months ago... And cried my eyes out.. I went out and held my lab and hoped this day would never come.. Today I lost my lab, Slim Shady... when my dog got lime disease i would take her for a walk and just sit somewhere and stare at the sky hoping my lab would live for a few more years(she was 7). ended up losing her a few weeks later. for a few days i would sit by her grave thinking about all the good memories.
