WONDERFUL version of a wonderfully beautiful composition. I love how you can hear him tuning his guitar for an acoustic version of "Let It Down" at the end too!
omg..thank you so much for this gorgeous tune brother..love you George..picked up the guitar cause of you ..you have inspired my entire life..thanks for the brilliant post LittleHarrisonGirl..shead many tears
This is a very beautiful song, and it may very well surpass any other solo beatles work. He was a wonderful artist. Unlike John and Paul, his songwriting attempts didn't always 'hit it', but when they did, the result frequently surpassed the other two's efforts as here.
TOWARDS THE END OF GEORGE'S LIFE.........HE WAS MORE SPIRITUAL THAN RELIGIOUS. HE WAS ATTACKED AND ALMOST KILLED THAT LEAD TO HIS WEAKENED LIFE ......AND HARD TO DEAL WITH THE CANCER. RIP. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO SEE YOU IN THE OTHER SIDE .....IN THE LIGHT>
George's writing and songwriting skills grow stronger with time. Thanks to YouTube and it's contributors for keeping alive all the good stuff. Today's music pales in comparison. If something is great, it is timeless but unfortunately in today's world, it's the corporations telling us what to like. We've become mindless droids for the most part, save for the few who truly appreciate great stuff like this! Nearly ten years since we lost George. Long live George and the Beatles!
george was an iluminated man, he had such high awareness of everysingle aspect of his own inner life, that every word that he wrote was as if he personally knew the very nature of human soul... he was quite unique
I wore out the Grooves on "All Things..." in '71 - that album still tears me up. This demo is amazing. Isn't there a human on the face of the planet with this much heart and talent? We gotta do better...
I really wish George had done more acoustic stuff. On this particular song I prefer the album version, but post-All Things Must Pass I'm not a huge fan of the production on some of his songs. I always wonder -- why doesn't George have any unproduced fingerpicking songs like Paul's "Blackbird" or John's "Julia"? He could have trounced them on the guitar. I think his acoustic version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the Beatles LOVE album is even better than the album version with Clapton.
sometimes less producing is better. Phil Spector was great at producing for come artists, but didn't fit George's wishes and style of wanting simplicity
I love most of George's simple, acosutic versions of songs- the way he wanted them to be. not overproduced by Spector. Phil Spector's wall of sound was nice- just didnt fit George's unique style
Always loved the Beatles anyway... George is Amazing on this song. I think "All Things Must Pass" was quite the masterpiece for him... much more appreciated now I think than when he first made it.
George had the coolest accent and was so spiritual and wise besides being 1 of the 4 best musicians ever- the Beatles. RIP George and John and all other good musicians
George had the coolest accent and was so spiritual and wise besides being 1 of the 4 best musicians ever- the Beatles- RIP George and John and all other good musicians
Geroge didn't have a cough- he was dying of lung cancer from smoking. He knew he was dying 2 yrs before it happened- but he finshed his last album 'all things must pass" wiht help from his son Dhani Harrison (who's also a great musician today)
@mikamamma I just read that George Harrison died of lung cancer, which spread to his neck and head. I saw it on his Death Certificates in the Web. There were two Death Certificates. Perhaps that is how it came out on the internet as a brain tumor. My my, I suppose the cancer ran in the family. So sad.
Um, I think you have a few of your facts mixed up, 4FabBEATLES and Bitchen60's. Yes, George did die of lung cancer (complications from the stab wounds he recieved from a stalker who broke into his home didn't help either). However, 'All Things Must Pass' was his first solo album released after his split with the Beatles. The album I believe you are referring to is 'Brainwashed' which was released posthumously with the aid of his son Dhani and his good friend, Jeff Lynn of ELO fame.
"He knew he was dying 2 yrs before it happened- but he finshed his last album 'all things must pass" wiht help from his son Dhani Harrison (who's also a great musician today)"
LMFAO, complete rubbish! I hope you've figured that out...
ATMP was his FIRST album post-Beatles! In 1970! He died in 2001 and released Brainwashed posthumously.
