  • The audio would have been perfect for a BN train... it sounds like a BN C30-7.

  • I like the anticipation of hearing the arrival long before the train shows up. And, you've chosen a great rail road in the C&NW!!! I grew up with the Milwaukee Road in Bensenville, but also the C&NW in Elmhurst, both of which I rode as a commuter. But as a kid I hung around both the Bensenville and Proviso yards. I loved it! Cheers!

  • Sounds like the best thing for you to do is visit your local hobby shop and look at some on the fine books on layout planning. Make sure you talk to the store staff who can help you understand the +/- of going with N or HO (large-radius mainline or switching layout, modern or historic era [and the availability of locos and cars, etc.]). You'll also learn about sound and control systems. Good Luck, I envy all the choices you'll have!

  • I am wanting to start model railroading for the first time.I have space for an L shape layout along the wall(10X10).Would I be better off going n scale or ho???Also, can you get the n scale locomotives with sound?
