I think a great idea to a nude lip color with a hint of color would be to mix some of your mineral foundation with a little of your fave blush (i use everyday minerals).

instead of putting in mineral powder (some ingredients are poisinous) if you add a dry drink mix to the petroleum jelly it adds flavor and color :)

This is a good tutorial but i for one wouldnt recomend vasaline becasuse it tends to run easily like for instance it smears under you lower lip when your not paying attention.

I would recomend some sort of non-colored chapstick like Burts Bee's for instance and you can even get it scented like i know they have pomagrante and cherry , and do the same thing but instead of vasaline use your Chapstick , but dont use the whole thing just a piece and do the same thing as she did. just with chapstk

Thanks for sharing! Such an easy alternative to $17 lip glosses. There are loads of non-petroleum-based options available to use, even in Walmart and other grocery stores.

Oxides and most micas are lip-safe. Anything ultramarine or containing ferric ferrocyanide are NOT lip-safe. You could buy lip-safe mica samples for about $1-1.50 each and add just those for sheer glosses.

Hey- just so everyone knows, not all of the Everyday Minerals blushes are safe for consumption... meaning you can't make all of the colors into non-toxic lip glosses. It's probably best to check the ingredients or contact the company. The company's forum would probably be a quick place to ask which are safe and which aren't.

There are some pigments that are not safe on lips. I think anything containing Ultramarine is not safe on lips.

Yes.You can use those stuff.I use them you can also melt the vaseline with a piece of lipstick and melt it on the stove.You need a big spoon to melt them together!Then pour it in the jar and then wait for a little it will get harden you have to put it in the rifregerator for about 3 or 5 minutes in it!I hope this helps out!You can also use chopsick with lipstick the same method just using chop sick!

Actually, Vaseline is pretty drying so I think using carmex would be a better bet

Great video. Already have some of those. One is made with melted lipstick, other with blush, last ones with mineral eye-shadow. It is good to try and add scent to them too. So yummy : )

thanks for this video. i've done a similar method, but i never thought of actually mixing the two. i use the foundation colors instead of blush because i want to get that nude lip color. i just made my own batch and its great.

mineral makeup is safe (ok on lips and if swallowed) because they use similar minerals in pre-made lipgloss and foundations... looked it up to be sure

what kind of rubbing alcohol did u use? because ive been to shoppers and they only have them at 50%, and for pressing pigments it would be better to use a higher percentage.

I use 70% alcohol.. not sure where its from though~ maybe try walmart or someplace like that? and about mica, ekk! im not entirely sure either, but let me know if you find out, cause lots of mineral makeup has mica in it

Yes indeedy hehe. At times I just apply vaseline on my lips for just a simple shine but NEVER thought to add tint to it. It's still smooth as always but now with a hint of color. Great idea :) Makin' one for my bud who also wears vaseline alone at times. EDM blushes lasts forever so this is an alternative way to use the goodie -_0

yupyup, im sure you can add flavouring, or essential oils to it. However, a more solid binding ingredient is probably a better idea so that it won't get runny!
