@arfx3 The holocaust should always be remembered, and while I also agree with you that it is overdone in Hollywood, better to be over remembered rather than forgotten. Alla Gerber (president of the Holocaust Fund raises some good points on genocide remembrance specifically in regards to the Armenian Genocide, on youtube in fact, if you, or anyone else for that matter, are interested).
@arfx3 Armenians cannot be accused of remembering it too much or attempting to do so simply because it has not been remembered and is generally non-existent in the psyches of most Westerners. One of the reasons why this is so is due to the very nature of Genocide. Donald Bloxham goes into detail regarding this in his book "The great game of genocide". It's too long to summarise it in a youtube comment and it wouldn't do it justice, but for referenceit starts on page 6.
Secondly the argument on several genocides are very trivial. Basically that any genocide after the year 1900 should for reason be given more weight. It's as if some of the members of the Nazi Party were to continue on and form the post WWII German government and legislate the denial of their actions.

Janissaries were abolished in 1826, go get yourself a history book and learn. Ottoman Empire was having battles on many places in WWI, they didnt have any forces in Anatolia to secure the citizens and these fucking armenians were killing Turks. Ottomans had to deport the armenians as a result of their betrayal and they lost their lives during the deportation due to some diseases and hunger. It is also true that some were killed by Kurds, but also Kurds were killed by armenians.

Alla Gerber (president of the Holocaust Fund raises some good points on genocide remembrance specifically in regards to the Armenian Genocide, on youtube in fact, if you, or anyone else for that matter, are interested).

@arfx3 Armenians cannot be accused of remembering it too much or attempting to do so simply because it has not been remembered and is generally non-existent in the psyches of most Westerners. One of the reasons why this is so is due to the very nature of Genocide. Donald Bloxham goes into detail regarding this in his book "The great game of genocide". It's too long to summarise it in a youtube comment and it wouldn't do it justice, but for referenceit starts on page 6.

Here we have some of the members of the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) who were responsible for ordering the Armenian Genocide, forming the new Republic of Turkey under the rule of Attaturk. It's as if some of the members of the Nazi Party were to continue on and form the post WWII German government and legislate the denial of their actions.

Janissaries were abolished in 1826, go get yourself a history book and learn. Ottoman Empire was having battles on many places in WWI, they didnt have any forces in Anatolia to secure the citizens and these fucking armenians were killing Turks. Ottomans had to deport the armenians as a result of their betrayal and they lost their lives during the deportation due to some diseases and hunger. It is also true that some were killed by Kurds, but also Kurds were killed by armenians.
