The cost is $470 retail price at Best Buy?! I'm not sure if that's an inflated number just to get people excited about the discount contract price or not.. If this smartphone were not "ruggedized", didn't have push-to-talk capabilities, and didn't have the 5 mgpxl camera, it would be less than half the current price. Other than those things, this is not a stellar smartphone by any means. If you don't need the extra fancy bells and whistles, just get the Prevail.

My Blackberry Curve 8530 from Boost is 100 % better then the i1. I don't need to download any APP to see youtube & I don't need WiFi for youtube. I have WiFi on my 8530 but I don't need it,but I do use free hot spots when I can. Don't get the i1 get the 8530 for $200 less & 100 X the phone. iDEN network is to slow. CDMA is so much faster.

Before you create a review of a product, make sure you know how to use it. I've noticed a few things that you have stated that the phone is "lacking" however in reality it is not... (i.e. shortcut in contacts to jump from one letter to another quickly, my phone does that, I guess you just didn't have enough contacts in yours.) Also, yes, this phone runs on 1.5... what is the big huge problem? Ive been playing with my friends new android 2.2, and I don't really see that much of a difference...

The internet isn't slow as long as you get signal, like basically any cell phone, and the texting is pretty fast, the only thing is when you go into landscape mode it takes a while to switch to it, but is only a couple if seconds, not much. But overall is a pretty nice phone to have

The internet isn't slow if u got a good strong signal, like basically every phone, and as for the texting, which he also mentioned was slow, nope, not at all. The only thing is when switching to landscape mode, it takes a few seconds, is the only slow thing in there, but is only like 5-6 seconds and then it changes. So over all the phone is pretty neat.

i think people to dont like the phone are just using it stright out of the box but it's a droid so you just go to the apps store and download free apps till you hart is content. once you customise your phone you'll love it. i amit it's a bit slower then 3 g phones but in a head to head with my friends apple i4 it was like 1 sec slower loading a web page. but he pays like 140 a month and has to make sure he does not go over on his data plan, that sucks. i pay 50 a month thats it for everything.

Not at the moment, appose to say the iPhone or BlackBerry when they release an update it is available for all models of the phone. Android on the other hand makes phone specific updates. I looked on the android website and it doesn't look like there are any updates for the i1 this year. I personally think the i1 is a waste of money. The Touch Pro2 on boost with or without the android 2.2 port is far better IMOP plus you save about $100 and get 3G speeds. For more info on TP2 PM me

No iDen phone can talk and text. Only CDMA Boost phones can do this. I hate to sound like a broken record but you are sooo much better off with the Touch Pro 2 flashed to work on Boost. $50 a month, 3G speeds (I get about a constant 2 mbps) you can get Android OS (working with some minor glitches) can be used as a wireless router, 3-way calling, it's cheaper (Got mine $200 New) full qwerty keyboard and much more. Boost put it on the iDen network because they wanted to offer a flashy phone but don't want people to hog up the bandwidth with a CDMA version. Also with the 4G phones coming out such as the EVO4, you can not flash them to boost because there is no Android phones currently working on the CDMA network. If boost ever does this it will open up a whole new world of Android phones being flashed to boost, the data consumption as I said before would go through the roof. That's my $.02

Yes....BUT you must be connected to wi-fi and you also must download the video to your SD card before you can play the video...... Look at my previous posts to get a phone that has this feature and so much more.
